Anyone know if you can get character pillow cases without the duvet cover?

Not necessarily a Christmas thread but I want a pillowcase to put ds' Christmas presents in.

Both my sisters have one from their childhood and still use them regularly (both in their late 30s now Grin). I'm not quite sure why I didn't have one but I thought it'd be a nice keepsake for ds.

The only problem is that I can't find anywhere in this country that sells character pillowcases without the duvet cover.

ebay is your friend here

tbh there are so many cheap sets on ebay, you could be a bit wasteful, buy a complete set and keep the pillow case

If no luck with a pillowcase, why not have a Santa's sack instead? They vary from very cheap to as much as you feel like paying, can have the child's name put on if you like.

Or you could sew one (or get someone to sew one) yourself.

We have a sack that we use but I liked the idea of him being able to use it the rest of the year as a pillow case and when he's older like my sisters do.

I could have a go at making my own. I wonder if you can buy character material.

I did consider getting a duvet set but it does seem wasteful and we already have enough bedding that I can't really justify another set. Maybe I could turn the duvet cover into lots of pillow cases and eBay them as there's obviously a gap in the Market Grin!

He's 9, btw, so is quite old to be starting a new Christmas tradition but I think this will be the last year of being able to push the whole Father Christmas thing, if he even still believes (I know most of his class don't and haven't for a couple of years).

Right, I have spent an hour looking for pillow cases or fabric to make my own and I can't find anything suitable under £20 - please can someone help me?!

I discovered a couple of days ago that the boiler has been leaking for goodness knows how long and has dripped onto ds' Christmas sack and, more importantly, the Playmobil advent calendar Sad and both are ruined so the need for a pillow case is even greater.

I like Cath Kidston's children's fabric. Ds would probably prefer spongebob or scooby doo - maybe, if I make my own, I could have one on each side Grin.
