Were at my sisters this year for Xmas and the turkey isn't going to fit in her oven, im thinking i can either cook it slowley overnight on christmas eve or just cook it normaly Xmas eve and then reheat it for xmas dinner.

The turkey is 14lbs, does anyone do this, overnight or just cook and reheat, if so how do you reheat it and what do you do to cook overnight.

We are cooking ours now as I am working christmas day and our 'day' will be tomorrow when the family come round for 3ish. It will be chilled overnight and thoroughly reheated tomorrow. Its 16lb so would never get cooked tomorrow morning in time for 3. Not sure about overnight - might get a little dry. So long as its reheated well from chill the risk of bugs getting in is minimal.

I always cook mine in xmas eve as it is a very large turkey and would never cook in time on xmas morning.
After its cooked and well cooled down I start to strip the meat off. I usually have a dish of meat for xmas day and another dish that can be for sandwiches or for boxing day.As you only want to reheat what you will use.
(pour juice from turkey tray into jug)
Put everything in the fridge overnight
On xmas day using some of the juice from the turkey pan mix with boiling water to make a very thin watery gravy.( a good pint or more) Pour this over your turkey for dinner and cover with foil and reheat in the oven.
This stops your turkey drying out and works very well as it heats away while you are getting other things ready

Yes I always cook mine day before.
Also if you have a slo cooker ...put pudding in it with a foil lid and cook for 3 hours while you are doing rest of meal. More space on stove and no steam.
