My 9 year old is so hard to buy for!!

I've bought a Ps3 game, books and some practical stuff like pjs but I need some more ideas please.

He loves football and music rather than traditional toys like action figures.

Thanks

www.gettingpersonal.co.uk has some great personalised football and music related presents. The football calendar has "[name] is a legend"! amongst others, which is great. My DD who is 9 loves having a calendar to put all her friends' birthdays on etc. The music stuff is good too! I've bought quite a few bits from there.

what about Monopoly (the new one), bop it, science kit, theatre ticket (or theme park?), art kit

Thank you.
I'll avoid the monopoly because he's a sore loser at board games but Science kit will be good if I can find a non-messy one.

Is he at all interested in his looks? My eight year old nephew is at the moment obsessed with body spray and hair gel. And you can get the spray on coloured stuff which almost all kids like [though you need to give it a couple of days to wash out - not the thing for a school night].

Also novelty rubbish like those toothbrushes that play songs when you're brushing, or with characters on he likes, or something.

Don't know if it's practical but you could promise him the chance to take him to see a live band. Even if it's just a cheap, three old blokes in a pub garden sort of job, if he's into music he might be interested for the experience.
