Looking for Christmas present for ds2(2).
He loves everything musical. Loves dancing and music generally. Likes dancing to wii dance with ds1(6).
I like buying toys that are much older than they are, so please don't worry about age of toys. I am happy to buy for aged 3-4, if it suits.
Nursery says he likes this :farm
I have looked at a numebr of tape recorders. But the problem was that they were very american sounding, mostly tinny ,and awful sounding .
I looked on e-bay at something like this :
taperecoder which looks good, but he likes music rather than stories. will I be able to get music tapes ?

Any suggestions welcome.

Have you looked at the ELC tape & CD players

I would be worried about tapes - CDs are a better bet.

Melissa and Doug do a number of wooden instruments including a Wooden Piano. Currently 15% Off Melissa and Doug here.

Other than that there are cool CDs out there - have you looked at Colours Are Brighter on Amazon for songs for kids that you won't mind listening to.

All my children (aged 10yrs to 15 months) love this. It was a first birthday present for DD4 but I think it will last a long time.

Oh richarda, that ELC cd player looks fab. I mean ,more than fab. Just what I was thinking of. Dh could then make discs of all ds2's favourite songs - and yes that kid has wierd taste, likes Marvin Gaye and the Jackson 5, but also likes hard core rave with a strong beat !!!
I think DH would be in his elemnet, let alone anyone else !!

I will check out the Colours are brighter. thanks for the suggestion.
he does like twinkle twinkle. his fave. and the wheels on the bus.

Am off now. Investigating.
