DS game recommendations for nearly 7yo dd?

I have succumbed to the pestering and have order a DSi (in pink with pink accessories) >. Amazon seem to have some reasonably priced games - Tinkerbelle, Hello Kitty etc. But I am a bit clueless on these things. A lot seem to say 3 plus - don't want anything too simple or ones with too many written instructions...

Has anyone got any recommendations

My DD (6 but 7 before christmas) loves the Tinkerbell one, Spongebob drawn to life and the club penguin ones.

For christmas she's asked for Tinkerbell and the great fairy rescue (she's got the previous one with the green cover)and Cats and dogs the revenge of kitty galore.

More than anything she plays the drawing/animation software that comes built in, but the then she loves drawing.

I'm tempted to get the zhu zhu pets one, as the others are being bought by granny and BIL.

I've been researching this for my 7 yo DS. Animal Crossing has been recommended lots, and a very experienced friend of mine advises against film tie in titles, and recommends Nintendo own games. Quality far superior apparently.

That is useful info - thank you. I saw Animal Crossing when I was looking earlier. We have a wii and she is happy with Littlest Petshop etc. Platform games would be a new thing.....Mind you, I have never got on with such things, even going back to Sega and Sonic the Hedgehog....

This is the thread I need! dd is 7 in Jan. I have just got her a pink dsi (hidden safely in wardrobe I hope)

She wants the Hello Kitty game. I am also thinking about "let's draw" - she has tried to describe a game her friend has and I think it is that one? anyone got any other ideas.

Personally I am a bit in shock that I have a dd who is nearly 7! How did that happen? Shock And then slightly traumatised by how kids today adapt to all this technology! We spent last weekend with dsis and dns, the youngest of whom is 6 months older than dd. They all have these things. Dd was agog.

Portofino I know exactly what you mean. My "baby" dd (same age as yours)was telling me she did a powerpoint presentation at school. She was disgusted that I have no idea how to do it myself. Grin

Grin Don't they have all those magic white boards in all schools now in the UK? When I started secondary school there was one computer. It took up a whole room. Dd has half a dozen PCs in her classroom. She is year 1.

How about Harvest Moon? It involves maintaining a farm, looking after crops and raising animals.

I'm teetering on the brink of buying Lego Harry Potter 1-4 for my DS (human sort) - the Lego games are supposed to be good I think (any comments welcome!)

Can I ask a really dumb question - if I buy a 'DS' game, that will work on the DS Lite, won't it??
.

maktaitai - my 7 year old DS loves the lego games for his DS. He has the Star Wars and Indianna Jones games already and we have just bought him Harry Potter for Christmas. And yes they will work on the DS Lite.
