i need to get a christmas present for my mum. she is in her early 50's, she likes birds, animals, knitting, cross stitch, gardening, um 60's music. she isnt a big drinker, loves food but is trying to lose weight. she has cross stitch magazine subscriptions. want to spend about £30.

A cross-stitch kit?

One of those bird feeders that sticks to the window? (My mum, mentions wanting one of these)

Adopt an animal ?

CD of 60's mix? Esp if she still has any tapes/records, get an up-to-date copy?

Healthy eating cookbook?

New bag for her knitting bits?

fave animal is currently meerkats, i have gotten her clockwork meerkats from hawkins but thats as far as i have got. she has loads of 60's music. not sure about knitting bag. the problem i have ios that her and my dad are not badly off so if she wants something, she buys it.

What about tickets to a show? My sister managed to get our parents cheap tickets to Dreamboats and Petticoats, which is (I think) a lot of 60's music.

What about a hamper of lovely food things? Stuff from Sainsbury's Something Special range, (think it's called that). They do all kinds of interesting stuff and you could buy a nice selection for £30.

Depends how much she likes birds really but there is such a thing as a bird house/feeder with a hidden camera that you link to your TV and you can watch the birds that come to your garden and if they nest there, watch the chicks etc. My inlaws have one - will find out where from if it's of interest.

ooooh, wispa that sounds like it might be a good joint present for my parents, they both love birds.
