My 2 boys want one for Christmas, I haven`t got a clue about them! I have seen the 360 with 250gb, heard them talking about an x box 360 elite, what is the diff?

My dp reckons the 250gb one will cost a smal fortune.

He reckons go to Game Station & have a look for a pre-owned bundle in the window. Or, ask the people in the shop to put you a bundle together of what you want, which is what he did and only spent £99 on everything he needed including the console and 3 months subscription to x-box live (for playing against other people online)

The elite is the older version (and the cheaper version) You should be able to get a decent pre-owned bundle for around £100. The hard drive on an elite is 120gb.

The 360 250gb has built in wi-fi and it kinect ready (not sure if kinect is compatible with the elite). It's about £180-£200 for just the console.
The 4gb is about £150 and is the same as the 250gb, but has a 4gb hard drive rather than a 250gb. You can buy games and films and store them on your hard drive, so having a small hard drive might be a hindrance.

I wouldn't go any older than the elite, even though it'll be cheaper. DH has an original release 360, and it's broken, and it can't be fixed because the parts aren't produced any more (apparently).

MrsChemist, my dp only has a smal hard drive & we've loads of films and music stored on it, although we do delete anything we no longer want on there every couple of months

That's good for new! Can you reserve one so you're not disappointed when you go to get it?

My dp reckons check out car boot for used games that are not too expensive too if you wanted to get them some others

Hope they enjoy it

Argos are usually good for basket deals in the run up to Christmas.

Kinect is the new xbox thing that is active so more like a Wii and great at encouraging excercise for the boys so I would recommend one that is compatiable as when its out you may find yourself needing an upgrade.
