Christmas

Scooters....

dd is 3.9, would really love a scooter for christmas, we have seen and fallen in love with the ones with 2 wheels at the front - mostly because her coordination isn't great and think she would get on better with it, without managing to kill herself! We have seen this one which, now I have been paid, is of course out of stock....

have been hunting around and can't even see any of this type on toysrus, all the similar ones I have found are out of stock - or £50 plus! we were hoping on a max of £35 (as per ELC one)

anyone know anywhere I could get hold of one?

That's a copy of the mini micro scooter. They are fabulous, really so much better than other scooters, so easy to push and manoevre would highly recommend. You can get 10% off JoJoMamanBebe or see if you can get it elsewhere for less maybe if you search. I find it hard to believe that copies could be as good in reality.

thanks for the responses everyone! yeah spotted that one at jojomaman - do you have the code for 10% off accesorizequeen ?? Would be a great help, think I will go for that one!

DD already has a helmet for her bike so she will wear that one :)

Actually... I'd say be careful! Your ds will grow out of that type of scooter very quickly and the mini micros are nearly double the price of the two wheelers!

My dd got a scooter (when she was three) for Christmas too and we went for this:

www.decathlon.fr/trottinette-trottinette-play3-bleue-id_MAN_11381_8053042.html

A few of her friends also got scooters and all were given the three wheeler type. The thing is now they are all four they only really like my dd's scooter because the three wheelers aren't enough of a thrill anymore...

I'd have to disagree teafortwo. My nearly 7yo rides the mini micro, he finds it easier than his standard 2 wheeler. As a parent I prefer the micro as it's light, no sharp bits and it's not noisy on pavements. DS2 is 3.10, he's had the micro since 3 and is only getting the hang of it now because of his co-ordination problems.
mummynnn, try MBG71, but they do 10% as standard (there might be 15% around but I get 20% because I have twins but don't dare share it as TAMBA get cross!)

thanks teafor but I don't really like the two wheel ones, and seeing how she steers her bike, no way would I risk her neck by a road on one of them!

thanks accesorize, will try that or google if it doesn't work Wink

Most of kids my ds knows, age range from 4to 8 prefer ones with bigger chunkier wheels, for girls the disney princess one is popular & seems to be v durable. For smaller wheels the 'cosmic light' scooter, 3 wheels for starters, 2 for those who can do it easily, depends on child, they're folding too so great for travelling. But if buy those, have to make sure always taken in when raining, they rust very easily

I love love love the mini micro scooters.

DS1 and DD both had them. DS is 5 and still uses his. DD is 7 and has moved on to the maxi micro - still 2 wheels at the front, but speedier and has an adjustable height handle bar.

Absolutely brilliant. DS1 has recently got the maxi-micro in black, with a ball top instead of the handlebar. Again, dead easy to use and very fast when he wants to be.

argh - just tried every single code I can find online and none are working - they are also not producing any error, just not doing anything Hmm

Also, they don't rust, are very light, run very very smoothly (don't seem to clatter like the cosmic lights ones) and are IMO way better for zipping about - because of smooth ride, small amounts of effort can equal good speed. And the leaning to steer element is so much more intuitive than the twist handlebars.

I think there might be a problem with the JoJo code via MN right now, ask MN, they're v.helpful with stuff like that! Any catalogue would have a 10% code on, well they always have. Or just wait until a code comes up elsewhere or a deal, there will be ones before Xmas for sure! Lots of places sell them.

I saw a mini micro copy in my local Tescos - I was a bit Angry 'cos I could have bought it with my double points and saved myself a fortune if I'd seen it before.

I'll go and look for it now .....

Mini micro is amazing. We got one for DS when he was 2yrs 4mths, he loves it and goes everywhere on it. DD is 6 and loves it too, she prefers it to her 2 wheeler because it is faster, easier to maneuver and quieter. They fight over it a LOT.

Thanks everyone!

well the ELC one is back in stock - but is it as good as the jojo one ?? The wheels look better on jojo but I am not sure! its a big price difference, so don't want to be getting one that falls apart / breaks straight away

Jo Jo don't do their own do they, it's the Mini Micro they stock. I know a lot of children who have had accidents on the Mini Micro so I would go for the ELC or My First Scooter

It's not a JoJo one they don't make it, it was just the only place I could think of that stocked them that I knew had a discount. As I said many other places stock them (John Lewis etc), just a matter of a discount really.
The reviews on mini micros say it all IMO (on MN and in RL), I don't find ELC products particularly good quality generally speaking but can see that the price would be a factor! Can't see why micros would be more liable for dc to have accidents than other scooters. Plus as with bikes, make them wear a helmet for safety.

thanks accesorizeqw=ueen - not seen it anywhere else, will get looking!

yeah thats my thoughts regarding ELC too, so will get the mini micro if I can find it a bit cheaper with a discount I think - she's already got a helmet Wink
