Do your DC 'believe'?

DS believed until he was eight. DD is 5 and humours me but doesn't believe. Came to her own conclusion early on. She gets excited and goes along with it but likes to remind me that 'he's not real mummy'. I maintain that he is and she just looks at me in a condescending fashion. I had to be told aged 9!! and was gutted when I found out.

Mine are almost 6 and 3 and definitely believe. My eldest doesn't go to school (home educated) so hasn't had the influence of other children telling him Santa isn't real.

I think those with older siblings always stop believing earlier than they would have otherwise. I have two older sisters who let the cat out of the bag when I was wee!

Ds (5) beleives but has twigged that the Santa you see in the shop or on TV etc is not real but a "helper"

DD (2) still beleives Grin

nappyaddict, I don't think she ever believed really Sad
I am impressed at all the children on this thread who still believe, and in this day and age too!

My DP says he never believed. The first Christmas he remembers he didn't believe and he reckoned before that he probably believed in the vague sense that he went along with what mummy and daddy told him cos he wasn't really old enough to understand.

DD1 (10 ALMOST 11) yes

DD2 (9) I don't think so but she sees the benefit in believing Wink She is querying the tooth fairy to us though.

ds is eight, he queried the tooth fairy at six, and does'nt beleive in the easter bunny.
He's asked me about Father Christmas but is canny enough to pretend he still believes as he gets presents from both parents and FC.

dd is six, last year a boy in her class told everyone it wasn't real and she got most irate.. Why would he say that mummy? WHY?
She is a bit worried that we've moved to a Muslim country and wether FC will find us.

I still beleive though.

My ds is 7 and I don't think he ever really believed although he has never questioned it. Dd is 4 and definitely believes. This year we have 2 foster children here for xmas, 13 and 14 yr old girls. Hoping that neither of them will accidently let anything slip. One of them is very inclined to speak before she thinks :)

DS is nearly 7; DD is 5 and they both believe. We don't have Easter Bunny so they don't believe in that. Am impressed that DS believes in the tooth fairy given her inability to remove tooth and provide money quietly but I am pretty sure he does.
