Do you mean stir up sunday? If so thats Christmas Puddings and is 21st November this year- I think!

That's it- thanks!

Well I'm making cake, pudding and mincemeat this year- think you can 'feed' them for some time before so wanted to get started soon- my mum used to make them in September.

Think I'll just go for it on my own... Shock

If anyone has any good recipes let me know, otherwise its back to my 20yr old good housekeeping version. Thanks!

I'll be making my cakes for us, my dad & sister, and MIL and her partner next week. Also follow the bero recipe although that's only because before meeting my MIL I'd never made an xmas cake!

If there's something better about then let me know ........

love the bero, try dark brown sugar for a richer flavour or 1/2 brown 1/2 caster suger. Dont forget to soak your fruit in brandy for at least 24 hrs before u make the cake, a splash of brandy when it comes out the ovan and is still hot then wrap it up and let it mature :)

another vote for Delia's, I make it every year. I make a big square one at the end of October, feed it weekly and serve to guests etc from mid December.

I made one and it came out a touch burnt so I'll need to cut the top off. Made the second, and it didn't cook! Argh.
