Don't worry. It's really fairly common to start puberty at the age of 10-11. Some girls begin having periods as early as 8. If you are struggling to explain things to her there are some great books. I'm sure someone will be along soon to recommend one!
I'm a science teacher btw, and cover puberty in year 7 (age 11), even though most girls will have had 'the talk' in Year 5 or 6 at primary school.
my dd has little boobs appearing but no hair yet! she gets a bit whiffy if she doesn't wash properly and her hair is getting greasy. I guess they must all develop differently. Are there any other signs?
My 10 year old Dd has greasy, hair , boobs and some fine punic hair, but none under the arms yet. She has also had a huge growth spurt. She has just gone out with her best friend to the local gym (10 minutes walk), by themselves for the first time.
My dd started developing when she was younger than 10 but she hasn't been fast-forwarded into full adolescence yet even though she's now 12. It's a very slow process for her, for which I'm . Because she's the youngest of four dc, she's very aware of her position as the baby of the family and wants to take full advanatge of that for as long as possible!
