This is a post for my sister who has no internet access at the moment and would be really grateful for any advice. She has 6 ½ month old twins who she started weaning a month ago. 2 days ago her MIL was feeding one of the twins parsnip apple and peas. He?s the better feeder of the two and has had all these before, and liked them, but this was the first time he?s tried them together. The MIL kept giving it to him even though he obviously didn?t want it and now he is being difficult at every feed ? not wanting to feed and when he will take some food he will only eat half the amount he did before. Has anyone else had this and how did you overcome it?
Thanks YFxx

Sounds quite normal to me when you start to introduce mixed tastes. MIL should really have stopped but heyho, I wouldn't make a big deal of it. I would just keep persevering, giving him single foods you know he like til he's back in the swing of it. At 6 months its really about getting into the habit of eating as the bulk nutrition is still coming from their milk. Meals should be fun and not about how much they eat at this age.

PS DS2 looooves plumbaby parsnip apple and pea but hates the one I make myself hmm grin

thanks Pheebe - i will let her know, i think she was worried as he was such a good feeder before, whilst his brother took longer. But thining about it may have been the change in person doing the feeding or place - they were staying at her MILs - which added to it, so maybe he'll settle now they're back home...

ps lol that your DS2 loves the plumbaby parsnip apple and pea, that's what caused the problem and has put him off the food she's making herself!

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
