Over the last few weeks or so, he keeps having accidents at school (he has done it once or twice at home too), and when I ask why it happened, he just shrugs.
He seems otherwise ok in himself, but he didn't used to keep having accidents like this. I am thinking (as it happens mostly at school) that it may be that he is to into whatever he is doing & forgets, but I am worried there may be more to it.
Should I be a bit concerned here?
Anyone else experienced similar with their children?
Have a 5 year old dd who is exactly the same. Nearly always comes home damp from school....am planning to see her teacher just to check that all is well there.
DD was dry completely at 3. She also wets at home sometimes - after exhausting all other possibilities we have come to the conclusion she is just a bit lazy! I have backed off completely and when she wets, I just say "never mind, pop them in the wash and lets find a new pair"....
I'm sure she won't be damp at 17!
I have just been through what iw ould call a wee regreesion with my dd who has just turned 6.
She was wetting herself for 2 months, and I mean every wee.
Inthe end after testing twice for infections (came back clear), and at my wits end I started her on a chart.
She never had a chart the first time round, when potty training, yet somehow this smal thing, took the focus away from the wee.
What I mean is, a wee on the loo was now a positive on the chart. Each wee got a cat drwan on the chart (she adores cats), and each cat made some money.
I was really stuck before we did the chart. She has been having emotional issues for a long time, as her dad and I are divorced, and just recently had been very unsettled.
I would always be clam and tel her it was ok, that she had we'd, but that wasn't getting us anywhere iyswim. Nor could I berate her for it.
If it carries on, do try it. My dd got to the point where she just had no control, couldn't feel herslef going.
So with me prompting, and the chart, it really worked.
Thank you for posting about your own experiences with your children. I hope it is nothing to worry about. His teacher has told me to keep an eye on it, which I am doing.
We went through a marriage separation & house move last year, and he went through a spell of doing it then, so I worry he is feeling unsettled again.
