my 7yo DD has always enjoyed `playing` with herself.blush Even when very young she used to wriggle around in her 5-point harness, and along with appropriate noises, skooch about until she was, well, finished..She has carried on with this behaviour, mainly as a comfort thing when shes tired, stressed, worried etc. To be honest I`ve been ignoring it in the hope thet it will stop on its own. But now it`s been mentioned by a friend following a sleep over. Friend not at all concerned, recognised it as a sign of dd not being comfortable in situation and reacted as I would have (she truely is a good friend). But now i`m wondering if I do need to address it or can I continue with my ostrich approach??
Help

Its perfectly natural, just explain she can do it in private, my ds is 7 and has been humping teddies/cushions for as long as I can remember grin

I keep telling ds (same age) that he is not allowed to do it in public, that it is basically not polite. Like showing your bottom, once your above a certain age, or picking your nose or chewing with your mouth open. Not shameful, just something other people don't wish to see.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
