When she is not a good friend? As in we don't see ecah other outside of school run/play dates/parties and swimming lessons?

She is telling me stuff I am horrified about but what can I do?

I have offerred to have her kids and help that way but she never asks. How firm can I be?

It's really praying on my mind...

This is a good book. Maybe you could read it first and see if you might be able to pass it on to her?

Could you give her a book on the topic or addresses, tel.no's where she can find help? Surely this must be devastating for their kids, too.

Could you ask her to speak to her GP or priest in the village? A person she can confide in? Could you mention it to these aforemtioned people that she needs help?

Definitely do not stand by and watch until a tragedy happens.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
