I am currently pregnant with our much wanted dc2.

I want to make sure that I make really good use of the time before the baby arrives to do some special "out of the ordinary" things with ds, who is 3.5. I can't wait to meet our new baby and start being a family of 4 but I'm also keenly aware that it's the end of an era in terms of it just being me, dh and ds which makes me a bit sad too. So I want to make some more lovely memories for us all.

I've been thinking of little outings/activites that ds and I can do together, or with dh too at weekends, and so far have come up with a few but would love more ideas so that I can pick and choose depending on the weather/how pregnant I am/ds's mood/cash available etc-

Going to a model village locally
Going on a bus ride (ds only been on a bus once before so this will be v exciting)
Going to the beach (ds not been that he would remember)
Getting on a train to meet dh from work (ds only been on "pretend" trains not a real one)
Taking a boat trip (been on a ferry but not a smaller passenger boat)

I work in the week Mon-Thurs and so my Fridays with ds are normally our "treat" days where we might have a little excursion, say swimming or the park for a picnic or nature walk/ visit local castle/ open farm/ touristy thing but as my maternity leave is fast approaching I might have an opportunity to do a couple of things a week instead of one (or do you think it would be better just to stick to one?)

TBH the outings are just as good for me as they are him, they keep me entertained too rather than just both of us being stuck at home getting annoyed with each other! Doing "stuff" instead of being at home suits us much more blush

Would really appreciate any more ideas from the Mumsnet idea bank.

Got to dash now (first antenatal class! Eeek!) But will check back later. Thanks in advance.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
