DID YOU HAVE CHILDREN BEFORE YOUR MID-TWENTIES?

Whilst much has been made of the trend towards women waiting to have children until their
mid to late 30s, women often complete their
families much younger - many by their mid-twenties. This, of course, was the norm in previous generations. I am a freelance journalist (also a mum) looking to interview women who have done this (they may now be in their 30s). I could chat to you by phone or in person and you would need to be photographed. I would talk to you about your experiences and views about being a young mum and would be happy to show you what I write. This is for You magazine.

I am 21 years old and have a 2 year old DS. I love being a young mum, I had him at 19 and am getting my life back a bit at 21 being back at work part time and going to college in August. It's hard work but worth it in the end I'm happy to be out and he's happy at nursery 4 afternoons a week, no problem!

i am 21 years old and i have one beautiful daughter, Karis, she will be 3 in september..

i love being a young mum and i know i do a briliant job! My daughter was unplanned but i would not change her for the world, she is incredible and being a mother is the most extraordinary experience a woman could wish for..

i think young mums get a hard time, and those of us who prove the skeptics wrong should be celebrated! i dont think age has anything to do with the make-up of a good parent..

My dd is now 14 months old, I had her a couple of weeks after turning 20. She wasn't planned and I'm a single parent, it's tough but I get on with it whilst trying to enjoy it all as much as I can. Dd is getting to be rather stubborn, determined and fiesty, no idea where she gets it from.......!grin

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
