Why do we compete so much with each other?

Hi. Do you ever wish your friends/mum/sisters were just a little less competitive? I'm a writer on a women's glossy magazine and we're preparing a report on how much women measure themselves against each other. I'm looking for specific case studies in which women talk about the issue and their experiences - specifically I'd like to find a working mother, a stay-at-home mum and a yummy mummy. Taking part would involve a phone interview of about half an hour. I work for a women's glossy magazine so our coverage is guaranteed to be top quality! I can be contacted at meganfld@hotmail.com and look forward to hearing from you.

Is there anything that says I can't be a stay at home mum and yummy at the same time? One can have a manicure while watching Fireman Sam you know? hmm

Does a yummy mummy work or not?

Does 'top quality' coverage mean we don't have to get our tits out? grin

No we compete because its in our nature to do so, we compete on many levels, conscious and subconscious.

I say there is absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of competitive spirit - though I do get very bored indeed with any kind of appearance related pissing contests.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
