Hi, I am sitting here waiting for the inevitable to happen. Scan week scan last week showed an empty sac and I have been spotting ever since (7 days)and it'a starting to get heavier.

I have to go back for another scan to confirm what I already know. However I really don't fancy a D&C - read too much about Ashermans! But being I wimp I don't think I can just wait it out either. This week has seemed interminable already.

Has anyone found a way of hurrying it all up more naturally? Anyone had any experience of this - herbs or acupuncture or something?

Understand what you mean about the waiting Milly, it's crap isn't it sad I had a scan at 8+4wks which confirmed pregnancy wasn't viable (first scan at 6+5 couldn't confirm but we were pretty sure things weren't ok). I didn't start to m/c naturally until 10+3wks and had 'normal' bleeding for the first 5 days, day 6 was horrendous, with very heavy blood and clot loss, and then went back to what it had been, from day 7 to about day 12.
I've heard acupuncture can get get things moving, maybe try and find a local acupuncture/chinese medicine practioner and ask their advice
I'm having acupuncture now, afterwards, to get help my body get back on track after 2m/c in 8mths, recommend it
Hope it all hurries up for you.

Thanks for the moral support Scully. Really need it today sad, just been for the scan and confirmed that it is anembryonic and the sac hasn't grown. It just feels worse now that someone else has said it.

I'll try some acupuncture - willing to try anything!

I saw my acupunture lady tonight and confirmed last week that my m/c wasn't complete, she had my needles in different places this week, to hurry my body along a bit. She is also giving me some herbs during the week to take, which will also help, she said.
Definitely try and find someone local, who is trained and specialises in fertility issues, to help you, if you want to feel like you are doing something rather than just waiting. And if you like them then they would be good to see afterwards, to help your body recover and prepare for ttc again. xxxxx

Hooray !! I think it's all over. A bit of a wierd reaction I know but I am SO relieved I don't have to go in to hospital.
Scully you are a star grin - found an acupuncture guy who specialises in fertility/gynaecology and saw him on Friday. Felt a bit like a pin cushion but it was quite interesting and didn't hurt. He didn't do the whole chinese medicine thing so separately I looked some stuff up online and took some black cohosh, dong quai and evening primrose oil as well. Light bleeding turned heavier that afternoon and by Saturday afternoon I had a few grumbly pains but nothing bad. But I woke up at 4am on Sunday morning thought my pad needed changing and passed a big lump of stuff (sorry TMI blush) have had few small clots since then and now the bleeding is tailing off.
Will definitely being going to see the acupuncturist again !
