Hello ladies. I'm 6 weeks PG and have been spotting for 5/6 days. Dead scared it's the start of another MC. I had one before DD was conceived at around this time. I'm nearly 40 and DH and I have been TTC for over 18 months so we so desperatelty want everything to be ok.

Have appt at EPAU on sunday morning (at least things have progressed since my last MC when the unit wasn't open at the w/e). Am doing my nut in here. Can't think of anything but gloom and doom and am too lethargic to get up and do anything. DD#1 is at nursery so am just moping about.

Just fancied a moan to anyone who may understand how I'm feeling. Thanks for listening. I'll aim to keep you posted. xx

hi.

There are loads of threads about spotting in early pregnancy, if you have a search you may see some to put your mind at rest.

It is really, really common and doesn't necessarily mean that you are losing your baby. Is it bright red blood or is it a browny kind of colour?

I speak as one who has had both a mc and a healthy pg where I bled in the early stages, so I think I can guess exactly how you are feeling.

I also know that nothing anyone can say will stop you worrying, but if you know that it is really common, perhaps you won't worry as much

Good luck, will be watching for an update on Sunday...

I had spotting for about a week when I was 8-9 wks pg and now I have a lovely 9 month DD! When I spoke to people about it afterwards everyone had either had the same thing themselves or knew someone who had so try not to worry. Easier said than done obviously. I was a total wreck for the 3 days before my scan. And the moping about is good for you - get as much rest as possible, it really can make a difference. Also had a friend who had v heavy bleeding, went for a scan to confirm MC and found a little bean with a very strong heartbeat (who turned 2 last week). It's inevitable to think the worst but for lots of people it really is okay. Keep us posted smile?

Thanks for your kind words ladies.

Squonk (great name!) Yup, I've read lots of the threads ta. Some good news stories and some sad news ones, I think I was looking for one of the threads to tell me what would happen to me! Spotting has been mostly brown, a bit of pink. Thankfully nothing bright red. Thanks for saying you'll check back. V sweet of you. The moral support makes a big difference.

Same thanks to you intravenous (also a good name!). I remember after my last MC, it seemed all my female rellies and friends said they'd had some bleeding too. Shame we don't get to talk about it more often isn't it? Lovely to hear about your 9 month old - bless!

I am not telling you not to worry, sadly i have had mcs....but I didhave spotting (and heavier) with dd3 at 7 weeks gestation and feared the very worst...but a scan showed no reason for bleeding and a healthy heartbeat best of Luck!

brown and a bit of pink sounds good, fruitbowl. It's very possibly just your body getting rid of all the crap so that there is a nice, clean, comfortable home for your baby for the next few months.

Sorry didn't see your message Squonk - love the idea of the body getting rid of the crap. If I start panicking I shall try and visualise the babypip in a nice, clean fresh eiderdown!

er... you obviously don't know my bad record when it comes to household chores wink. Thanks for cheering me up. Might get off my ar$e and make my bakewell tart now x

anyone who in a post of one line can get in that they are crap at household chores and also that they are making a bakewell tart...

wink

Of course, you are going to worry, but it really does sound to me like everything is ok. Not that I would advise you to cancel the appt on Sunday of course, but please try not to worry too much.

And chuck some of that tart this way grin

I don't consider the baking and eating of cake a chore myself! Tasty it was too. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Much appreciated. My spirits are lifted.

any news today, fruitbowl?

Very sweet of you to check back Squonk. Yes, news is good for now thank goodness. My scan showed a sac and yolk but too early to see anything else for now. They said all looked fine and intact and I'm to go back for another scan in a couple of weeks.

They dated the pregnancy at 5 weeks not 6.5 my dates suggested. Also said the spotting could have been implantation bleeding. I'm not so sure the dates match up for that but who am I to argue with the professionals. I'll take their explanation and try and remain optimistic.

Feel sick as a dog tonight and am having to bale out and go to bed now so all seems back on course!

Hope all's good with you. Thanks for thinking of me
