HI LADIES..

Quick intro...
I am now 40 have had 7 m/c's in last 4 years no live births. Beanies die as soon as they get HB.
Have tried allsorts..... Heparin, aspirin, progesterone will now be aiming for he steroids.

Anyway, I went to hospital the other day regarding a mole. Doc said it was OK and froze it off. She checked my back for me and noticed a spread of spots under the skin... I can't remember the name will find out and put it on here soon. I was aware of this rash thing as I have had it before. It comes and goes. The last time I had it was five years ago. Anyways, when she saw it she asked if I suffered with APA shock. I told her about m/c's and she ws not surprised and stated to were linked together. Now she was spanish and quite difficult to unnderstand but I am sure that's what she said.

Soooooooooooo, does anyone else have a rash type thing on torso, back, and arms?

Thanks......

Either way responses appreciated. smile

Oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

No mine just looks like dark blotches tiny freckle sizes and under the skin. Only really itchy at the joints.

I have been given some cream for it now so hopefully this will get rid of it.

random bits of the message with all personal details removed...

+ I think ST Marys are doing some TEG research which is immune related but not sure when results are due.

+ Dr Shehata uses steroids for blood flow and to dampen immune reactions and the CARE Nottingham private clinic uses that too.

+ There is a study called SPIN being done just now which looks at empircal use of heparin so there is something there to be investigated.

+ Dr Raj said that he is the only consultant at St Mary's that uses steroids, so is less conservative than others there.

+ He doesn't really believe in things such as the role of NK cells on miscarriage.

+ He sometimes uses steroids as aspirin and heparin alone have failed and apparently steroids can prevent inflammation and allow blood to flow more readily.

+ This is quite a new science, but if it can deal with immune issues too then fantastic!

hope that helps x

oinker,

have you been tested for MTHFR?

info here
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By oinker on Mon 28-Apr-08 18:21:17
JJ

You know what?

I have had those tests and have only just realised that a cuff was not used.. No-one said anyhing to me at the hospital that it was a unique method. Thanks for that bit of info..

Not too sure about Raj Rai having a less conservative view than others at the clinic. He certainly does not want to treat overweight people with the steroids. He has turned his nose up to me and that's after losing 5 stone in weight. I have a slightly high BMI...31 but he wants it at 28. SOD!!!!!

It's all to do with stats. He won't give it to me cos it would look bad if it failed and I got even fatter.
My freind has just had a baby and Raj was her consultant. She was a private patient and an overweight one at that.. He has never mentioned her weight. She told me so hmm angry I am an NHS patint so he can bang on about my weight as much as he wants cos I have nowhere else to go....

MONEY DOES TALK !!!!!

JJ

No too sure about the MTHFR.

I do inject heparin and take two baby aspirin every day from getting a positive test.

It sounds as though the heparin and aspirin is the treatment for everything!!!!
