hatrick - suppose we could swap baby clothes. No I have seen your scan yours definitely has extra bits and unless mine has grown some I think we will be sticking with her name.

Lol Sweetkitty grin

Wouldn't it be amusing if it turned out both our sonograohers were wrong and we both had to go back to the drawing board.

hatrick - I don't think most people would get the GTA association TBH, go with Nico.

Apparently I am naming DD3 after Corrie's Sarah Louise Platts daughter she had at 13 wink

Nico/Nicholas is too classic to become synonamous with a film.

In fact I love all of your girls names too, you have great taste in names!

Nico is a cool name grin And I have no idea about GTA at all and I am sure not many other people will either. I love Ezra too!!

Yes, I think it goes with your surname too. Are you going to give him a middle name? Can you use Ezra there?

6.03am today, so getting better... [knackered]

Weeeeeeeeeeellll <<settles on couch>> I was a bit upset at first but have come to terms with it now I think. Am planning on getting some fish for the girls and calling one Ezra.

I do absolutely like Nico, think it goes with our surname too, Dad is chuffed we are considering it as it will be his first granchild who is named to reflect his heritage.

Ouch @ DS2 and his early waking- that is painful.

How do you feel about not having Ezra? Do you like Nico? [psychoanalyses] grin

I'm OK, Hatrick - tired (DS2 - 5.30am...nuff said...!) - but fine! Been busy with RL - only popping on here every now and then - not at all for ages, then again for a bit, then off again grin

I love Kitty too but would never get it past dh

<<big heaving sigh>>

dd1 was almost Arwyn
dd2 was almost Phoebe, Reese or Rudy before she got Lexie

this had better be a boy or it'll have no name for weeks

Dh loves Ella too.

We have two ending in a and then when dd3 was born we felt we needed to avoid another a ending, with yours though it doesn't matter as they are shortened . Lexie is very pretty btw.

Francesca
Jemimah
Harriet

I think we can get away with anything if a boy BUT am not sure if have stuck myself in a rut with girls as both mine have long names shortened iyswim?

DD1 - Isabella known as Ella
DD2 - Alexandra known as Lexie

so do I have to go the same route if another girl?

Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By dizzydixies on Fri 16-May-08 21:26:14
I personally love it smile

he was called Nico after steven segall in some film so even if GTA does catch on its still a hell of a lot cooler than some dodgy old pony tail wearing past it action hero grin
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By hatrick on Fri 16-May-08 21:24:20
lol ahhhhhh like that is it.

Right we have decided to stick with it, for now at least and hope GTA is a big ole flop.

I have a friend called Ezre, and he is one of the most charming, clever men I know.

This isn't because he is called Ezre obv.

I know not of Grand Theft Auto and I like Nico.

Every name in the world has some sort of negative/weirdy connotation for someone somewhere, and unless you're considering Adolf I would suggest you ignore other people's negative opinions.

Nicholas is on our short list, I think it's a great name (and the patron saint of pawnbrokers, natch)
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By squiffy on Fri 16-May-08 11:37:51
why not hedge your bets and call him Nicholas on his brith cert? That way if Nico becomes a naff name you and drop it and call him Nick/Nicholas. If it doesn't he has cool (shortened) name you love.

But I love Ezra too, BTW. Nicholas Ezra sounds fab (unless your surname begins with 'C' of course)
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Heffa on Fri 16-May-08 11:31:44
Oooh, Ezra's a beautiful name. It was on our shortlist. Gorgeous name. Cyrus is lovely too.

Nico's lovely too, and I'm sure people won't remember.

We have a Saskia too Flossie grin the ashtray comment happens to us too.

lol CSWS and effie.

I think its right that people will soon forget the connection.
My DD is called Saskia, just because we like it .
The most common connection we got after naming her was ,that was the name of the girl killed with an ash tray in eastenders!!?
I refer it was Rembrandts wifes name.grin LOL

Well you know what I'm going to say don't you. Use Ezra! And ignore any tasteless morons who have said bad things about it. You and dh love it, more than Nico, and that's what matters. Something tells me you'll always regret it if you don't.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By EffiePerine on Fri 16-May-08 09:26:19
Change back to CYRUS. Or Ezra grin

you know you want to...
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By blinkingthreetimes on Fri 16-May-08 09:24:31
Nico is a gorgeous name I think you should still use it .

In 6 months time noone will ever remember it was used in GTA .
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By hatrick on Fri 16-May-08 09:22:58
lol Neither do I thank goodness [dh's friends at work love it though] It is Nico, fab name.

What is the name?

I know nothing of GTA.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By hatrick on Fri 16-May-08 09:19:01
So we had decided on a name for ds, both happy with it, Dh loves it.
Then along comes Grand Theft Auto and the main character has that name. LOL Dh came home the otherday and told me, we laughed and said wasn't it funny. Since then almost everyone we know has also told us. grin
I think we may have to rethink this one. grin That or brazen it out when he is born and hope people soon forget.
