Love Harry but there are loads of them about. There were 5 in dds nursery of 27 children.

If that thing doesn't bother you go for it but I would probably go for Ellis, which I also think is a great name. Depends on the surname though?

Ellis is my faveourite. Is quite popular where I am (but not overly so). Harry 2nd. Not keen on the others. Definitely not Kobie.

I like Ellis but too many s's in the name Ellis Masters, it's a bit tricky to say.

Don't like Dante or Kobie so that leaves Harry.

Can anyone think of a cute name to go with Harry?

Where's Kobie from? Sounds like Obi Wan Kenobie from Star wars? <ignorant emoticon>

I like it!

Why not Harry Kobie..?

I got it from a baby naming website hun. I was thinking Harry Kobie or Harry Koben. Boys names are soo hard to find!

Koben sounds better than kobie, too many 'ee' sounds.

Another vote for Harry here, but I have one so am biased smile

My Harry's middle name is Thomas, but Samuel, Oliver and Lewis were all contenders too.

Kobie - naff, also reminds me of rapist basketball player Koby Bryant
Dante - also naff, sorry

Definitely not Kobie or Dante - remind me of gangster rappers for some reason! wink

Hate Harry. Hate all those old man names that have come back. There are about a billion Harrys round here, too, but may be different where you live.

I liked Kobe when I was pregnant with DH (without the 'i'...i think it's a Swahili name, actually) but at the time Kobe Bryant was on trial for rape, so thought, hmmm, perhaps not hmm smile

Harry Joseph

Harry James

Harry George

Harry Thomas

Are there any family names you could put with Harry? For some reason I do like a middle name to be there for a reason!

Kobe (pronounced Ko-ba) is apparently a flemish name as well, it least it is popular in Flanders. It's nice. I don't mind Kobie.

Another vote for Harry

Harry James from Collision's list is lovely.

Ellis is OK, not a name I would chose but I wouldn't think hmm if I heard it shouted in the aisles at Tesco.

Dante is too poncetastic and Kobie - I like the sound of the word iyswim but he would spend his life spelling it to people and explaining where his unusual name came from.

My ds1 is Ellis and I've never heard another child with the same name.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By princessflo on Sat 03-May-08 12:02:00
To me the names are very different and bring to mind different looking children... Harry and Ellis make me think of a white child, Kobie and Dante I would imagine on a mixed race or black child.

I think Ebony and Dante look/sound the best match for siblings.

Just plain Harry.

But if you said Coby was a nn for Jacob, I would give it a better reception.

Kobie on a birth cert lacks something.

Harry
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By nooka on Sat 03-May-08 17:23:27
Hmm I was going for Ellis, because Ellis Masters sounds good to me, but not sure about Ebony and Ellis as a combination. Too similar for me. I don't like nicknames as full names, so not Harry although I'd go fo Henry - to me Henry Masters has much more gravitas than Harry Masters, and the shotneings are also available (I like Hal better than Harry personally). However if you aleady have one unusual name in the family, then what the hell, go for Danté. Trés cool! Dh is a big fan of Danté - he was a great charactor (especially when it comes to insults grin)
