I contacted Age Concern asking them if they could help with us adopting a grandma for my kids and a mum for me. They thanked me for a lovely email but they can't help.

Anyone want to be Granny to my kids and mum to me?

We are in Kent btw.

I asked Age Concern exactly the same thing about 10 years ago, NAB.
We lived a long way from any family, and I thought it would be good to befriend an elderly lady locally.
Age Concern told it was a great idea, but they didn't think it would generate much interest.
Such a shame. sad

I hope you find someone who can help out. smile

There is an adopt a granny scheme somewhere. I'll try to find it

That seems a good idea in principle, but there is a £50 fee.

I know this is an old thread but I'm gonna bump it anyway. I'd love it if I could find a Gran or Grandad for my two daughters. I only have my Mum and she's not very interested. My Dad was really great with my kids - always ringing them up, asking about them, played with them etc etc - he died 3yrs ago. DH's parents cut their ties with us years ago. My kids don't have anyone apart from DH and myself and obviously my lovely mates. Such a shame.
