Hello out there! My mum just moved from LA to look after my DS, and I was thinking it might be nice for her to get to know other grannies in London who are also looking after their grandchildren. I am looking for (a) other grannies who might be interested in playdates with my mum and 9 mo DS, or (b) suggestions for ways I can introduce my mum to other people her age who enjoy theatre, long walks, and those puzzles where you circle the word that's hidden in a jumble of letters wink.

With regard to (b), this is for friendship only, of course, I am not trying to set her up. I just think her life here would be so much more enriched if she had some friends to spend time with, iyswim.

Thanks in advance!

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
