DS2 exactly like this, he is 1 this week and most nights he has loads more bed space than me or DH with him thrashing about and starfish/spreadeagled across the bed (when he is not busy trying to dive over the edge).
No advice sorry just wanted to sympathise as its a bloody pita!

Mine sleeps in a cot most of the time now because I just don't get any sleep with his thrashing about. The final straw was him headbutting me so that I ended up with a mouthful of blood!

Sorry that's not much help but you're not alone if that's any consolation

push cot up alongside the bed as guard. Added bonus of getting them used to the view.
I do slept with ds1 for years. Man diagonal starfish poses I do not miss those

DS does this, usually wind or teeth, it can go on for a couple of hours, sometimes every night for days on end. Drives me completely nuts, have yet to find a solution. Few things worse than being kicked in the head every ten seconds. You have my sympathy

Could she be teething? Or is she just really hot and bothered? Its been really humid here in the north west. I keep my bedroom window wide open and the loo window open too, so there is some movement of air in the house.

Also my LO went through few nights of similar behaviour, she appeared so restless. I massaged her stomach and she did a good few big trumps. It was wind!! And this happened for a few nights on the run.

Is she constipated, this can give rise to pain and trapped wind.

Good luck finding out what is going on!!

Perhaps something like this?

Or could you push your bed up against the wall? Works really well for us when we cosleep.

Some people but a single mattress on the floor next to the bed or move the bed mattress to the floor altogether.

Hope that helps!

Take it no-one else has this problem then?

I suppose it could be the hot weather but I've had next to no sleep the last few nights with DD's endless rolling. It is driving me mad.

She suddenly sits up then lays back down facing a different direction and just thrashes and rolls about. The bed is 6foot 3 wide so she's got a lot of room but she goes dangerously close to the edge and has fallen out.

I wondered about bed guards but they don't fit the whole length and it seems like a bigger danger that her body could roll off and she could hang herself/ break her neck. (The bed is quite high).

I did put her in her cot in the middle of the night thinking it was safer, but she was soon standing up crying to come back.

Anyone else been through this and know when it'll pass? Or got a solution?
