in the paper today

Very shocking story. Poor family. Poor train driver. Must be hard for those involved at the local authorty as well. Obviously, the father must have had issues, but to feel he had to take his life to be listened too...truly dreadful.

In what Universe did he think it was better to die than for his dd to go to the "wrong" school? As you say, he must have had issues and this tipped him over the edge.

V. sad for all concerned, especially his poor dd.

Has this really taken nearly three years to get to an inquest? Why?

I saw this too. and it's all very sad but it's very wrong also to blame the schools admission process. He was obviously a very unhappy man with a distorted view of life and plenty of other problems, if he thought that this was a viable option. How on earth is throwing yourself in front a train about a school going to help your daughter's future?

very sad.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]].
