I have recently started a new job as the Teaching Assistant with responsibility for SEAL in the school, it is a new post to the school and I would be really pleased to speak to any other Mumsnetters who are working in the same field.

Hi Isa

I'm not a teacher (sorry), but they do this programme at my dd1's junior school, and I recently attended a meeting about it. It seems a really good scheme, and I've tried to adopt the '3-step behaviour management' scheme with dd at home. It works well with her, as she's a real dreamer - often on a completely different planet! - so often just telling her what she is doing is enough to make her realise that she shouldn't be doing it (iyswim).

Good luck!

Thanks Ellbell, glad it has been helpful for your dd, although I have only been working with the scheme for two terms so far it does seem to have helped quite alot of children already.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
