stir fry, or use in clear soups. Or simply steam & dribble a bit of balsamic vinegar over it.

Also good parboiled, then fried with some bacon bits and garlic with lots of olive oil.

Cut off the leaves from the stalk, cut into large chunks, parboil (stalk for longer than leaves) and then bake in a little bit of milk/cream, topped with parmesan, salt and pepper. A great veg side dish.

brilliant in a tart, used a lot in Spain and Latin America, usually with cheese, egg, pine nuts

It's nice in an omelette - fry some onion and garlic, add chard and wilt, then some eggs mixed up with a fair bit of grated cheese. Finish it off under the grill with more cheese on top.

Or use it in a rissotto. If it gets warm again the leaves work well as fans

Wilt it, mix with ricotta cheese and roast tomatoes then mix t in with pasta. Great! Or eat it as it is I do (but then I have strange tastes)

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
