The dds want dippy eggs.

When I boil an egg, tis either raw and yuk or hard boiled.

There must be a formula, and someone on Mn must know! Where am I going wrong? I keep my eggs in the fridge - does that affect it?

put it in the oven?
do you want her to start a thread entitled "how do I get albumen and yolk off an aga door?"

the answer is:
take the egg out of the fridge
put a pan of water on to boil
when it is boiling not simmering put in the egg
count to 180 slowly
take it out
eat it

I sometimes do it CD's way too. Depends if there's lukewarm water to hand. I have many failings as a cook, but anything with eggs I'm a whizz.

I put the egg in already boiling water for 6 minutes, always worked for me.

Have just done 4 mins in boiling water. Look revolting to me but apparantly qualify for dds to describe as dippy.

Let's see if they eat them!

If you knock the top off egg and then realise that it isn't cooked, I usually put top back on and time for a minute or two and they usually cook through by then.
I love them dippy but h doesn't!

I hate timing things. So I have a little egg-shaped thing that goes in the water with the eggs. I can start with cold water, boiling water, whatever, and the egg-shaped thing changes colour to show how cooked the eggs are.
