Never bought one but can imagine. I'll stick to the innocent smoothies that DD loves but are bankrupting me. Are they crap or worth it?

i hate it too. Apparently you can put all the bits of mine in the dishwasher but I'm not convinced all the 'bits' would come out properly.

You can put a plastic bag in the bag section that catches all the waste, then that's one bit less to clean. I put all the bits in the dishwasher except the metal bit.

That should be 'back section'!

I hate it too and never use it for that reason - too much hassle. The only tip I have is to wash it immediately after use before bits of fruit or whatever have time to stick to it, or at least put in in sink with hot water in it then not so bad to clean!

Yes, I used my ridiculously overpriced Waring juicer the sum total of two times because of that. I hate the noise it makes too. Far too scary and loud.

my dh bought a juicer without my knowledge. The moment I saw it I flatly refused to clean it ever

Have only cracked once so far, when he left it dirty and went on a week long business trip

I thoroughly recommend a handheld blitzer/blender thing - only two bits to wash, which you rinse under the tap = about 30 seconds, plus you get all the fibre etc in the fruit, so technically better for you Obviously you have less options (eg can't do raw carrots or beetroot etc) but it's still flexible enough to make a very good breakfast smoothie every morning grin

This is the kind of thing I mean

I generally go for orange juice + a banana + one or two other fruits eg some pineapple, raspberries, mango, kiwi, etc - or milk, banana and berries if I'm in need of dairy

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
