Thank you all very much. I will be soon seen out on the High Street searching the shops - a very rare sight indeed as I hate shopping!

Meant to say also the linen shirt has long sleeves and a collar I can turn up to protect my neck!

I have very pale skin and start to fry after about 30 seconds in the sun, so some experience to draw on. White Stuff have lovely kaftan style tops. I also have a cream linen shirt I bought years ago from La Redoute which I put on like a jacket over shorter sleeved things when I leave the house - looks rather elegant, I tell myself wink. And it still feels pretty cool in the heat. You shouldn't have much trouble hunting something similar down anywhere, I'd have thought - maybe Gap?

You will be able to find some perfect pretty cotton kaftans in all the high street stores as they are very in at the moment so not only will you be covering up but you will also look like a trendsetter. I saw a really nice one today in Top Shop, white cotton, long sleeve, hip length with pretty embroidered over locking but there will be loads in Primark, River, BHS the usual suspects.

Hello,
I have just been told that I may be allergic to the sun and that I need to keep covered up to give my skin a chance to calm down. then I can test to see if it is sun cream or the sun I am allergic to. sad
The problem is I am always to be found with as little clothing on as possible in the sun as I hate being too hot!
Does anyone out there know where I can get NICE tops with long or 3/4 sleeves and no collar that are inexpensive!Hippie type would probably suit best BUT not big and baggy. (I'm not at all fussy!) I need to get them now as we are going to Centreparcs on Monday and I don't want to be a miserable cow having to watch my family having fun in the sun while I hide in the shade!
Thank you!

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
