I've never been an allergic person, until I was 7m pg with ds, when my bump broke into eczema.
Now (ds is 1) I am having another reaction - a few red spots on my upper thighs, yesterday; today I woke with my belly covered in itchy weals and welts.
It's happened once before a couple of months ago - this time seems to be worse, it's not just on my belly but to a lesser degree on breasts, up spine, skin/scalp behind ears, and very slightly around my eyes. The 3rd day was worst, then vanished overnight.
First time it happened I went to the doc who said "allergy - what've you eaten?" but the only thing I could think of out of the ordinary was a ham-and-cheese panini in a cafe. I dismissed that as I eat bread and cheese all the time, just not usually from cafes! This time, however, again the only thing I ate unusually was store-bought white bread rolls (we used to eat hovis granary, but I've been baking my own bread for a couple of weeks now). Then again, baguettes haven't triggered it, so maybe it's not that at all?
Any ideas how I can find out? And how to treat it? Anyone had anything like this?
Treatment: antihistamines, cream (ask your pharmacist, esp if you're still bfing).
If you're sure it's an allergy, try cutting out one thing at a time and see what happens. What about washing powder/detergents/new shampoo or shower gel?
Also, it could be a viral rash - I had a rash on my hands and the nurse said it was prob viral and DS had a similar thing. Complete mystery as to what it was but it went away eventually.

Does it always happen in the summer/ same time of year? It could be an allergy to certain pollens and spores in the air.
haven't changed a thing, Effie, that's what's so baffling!
