This is on behalf of a friend, who's dd is 8yo, and cannot have cows milk or goats. Her consultant has now told her to erase all milk products from the dd's diet, and use rice milk instead. She has never used it before, and so would like to know about it, ie can you cook with it? which one is best for cooking/ tastes nicest /has highest calcium levels/subsituting other sources of calcium into her dd's diet...
In short, tell me all!!!
look on the internet - there was research published recently showing lebvels of arsenic in rice milk which could be a probler=m for regular drinkers, get her to ask her consultant. look at the telegraph page.
We use rice milk for DT1(4) and he loves it. It smells so much like ambrosia custard too

we make his porridge with it, rice pudding, semolina, he has it in cereal at snack.
He too cant have milk products and hates soya milk, tried the goats milk thing too which he refused.
We have given DT1 extra vitamins and fish oils to try and combat what he looses
Re the arsenic problem I contacted Provamel and they confirmed that their Rice Milk conforms to the very strict Chinese standard so there is no problem with that brand. I am sure if your friend contacts other manufacturers they will tell you their levels - if they don't then don't touch that brand.
