I'm on the verge of banning it. Continual filth, smut and bad vibes. They tried to sweeten the pill this evening by playing some gentle Smiths song in the background. But it won't wash.

What should the age limit be for Hollyoaks?

16 +

Not sure tbh.

I don't watch it but think some of the storylines I have heard about are really only suitable for 14+ maybe ?

I make the dd's switch over when it comes on.

You should watch it, cracker. Then tell me what you think.

Why is it on at 6.30?

I do think 16 is overdoing it.

woo, I am pretty relaxed about stuff like that (plus I love hollyoaks blush) but I do think 9 is too young - it's the approach of it all, they can be quite gritty.

lmao at trying to sweeten the pill with the Smiths!

I'm assuming it wasn't "Girlfriend In A Coma" or "Still Ill"? hmm

I'm very laissez-faire, janny.

Yes, dryad. It was
Please please please ,
let meeee get what I want
let me get what I want, this time (as horrible spiralling-into-madness character was held down in his cell)

But it was a dreadful cover version.

However, I do think I might have to censor this one. Maybe

I mean, dd2 had to turn away and look out the window when the gay priest finally snogged and romped about half-clad with the bloke he fancies.

Shouldn't be on before the watershed IMO, and i'm no Mary Whitehouse.

And I hate hate hate that it's on on Sunday afternoons!

I love Hollyoaks but I wouldn't let a child watch it, definitely not for a 9 y/o to be watching, but then I don't think any of the soaps really are, all of them revolve around families 'going through something', there's never any happiness, always shouting. I used to watch Neighbours when I was young and that never seemed anywhere near as bad as Eastenders and the likes are now.

Ok. Will try to wean dd2 off Hollyoaks next week.

Dd1 is 10 and not allowed to watch it.

I actually would like to watch it, but it would mean sending the dd's out of the room LOL.

My dd 12 has just become hooked. I really don't like it and think that it should be on after the watershed, but then I think the same about eastenders.

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
