CoT If your child already goes to school with him, then they have already been in contact - nothing you can do.

The poor little guy.

At 5 he knows that his mum has dumped him.
sad

Bet she had some tryst to hurry off to...spread rumours at the school gate that she was looking 'very attractive' and was rushing off somewhere ina a rather secretive manner.

Does it not occur to people that if a school says 'no admission within 48 hours of diarrohea' because of the (high) chance of infection, that it might be a good idea to apply that to other very sociable occasions?

Will the stupidity and inconsiderateness of some people ever cease to amaze me, I wonder?

No idea scottishmummy - I only see her at school. She often stops the teacher to give suggestions for the class and things like that.

I was astonished. I asked him if he need the loo a few times. So relieved he didn't (apart from the garden weeing) plus that he didn't fill his nappy as well.

It was a tummy bug as he doesn't usally wear nappies (if he had to wear nappies for other reasons I'd more than happy to deal with the situation)

if he had a tummy bug then how irresponsible. My ds had to wear nappies at four, for really bad diarrhea as he had a bowel diorder he now on medication which controls it. Are you sure he was poorly in tummy bug way? If so no way should she of took him

OMG I'm completely outraged at this woman. Who on earth would do that? shock
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Hecate on Sat 10-May-08 20:58:49
So she brought a 5 yr old with a stomach upset to your party, wearing a nappy, with instructions not to feed him any of the lovely party food and she left so you'd have needed to deal with the dirty nappy and the humiliated child?

The woman is insane! shock
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By scottishmummy on Sat 10-May-08 20:58:26
OMG that is irresponsible.i do wonder why and a n adult cant explain to a child (with the trots) that it cant go to a partyhmm .

she should have watched some dvd etc at home unreasonable to child and the others too

She did leave & didn't have any spare nappies. Was quite surprised - not sure what I would have done tbh - have some 2yr old nappies plus baby size!!

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By ElizabethBeresfordSW19 on Sat 10-May-08 20:53:22
Wow. a five yr old who had an accident (in to a nappy or not) would be so humiliated if it happened at a party in front of their friends!
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Hecate on Sat 10-May-08 20:52:43
She did WHAT? shock A pull up nappy on a 5 yr old so he can come to a party? So he'd be running round with a nappy full of shit?

Are you sure he still HAD it, or he'd HAD it maybe the day before, seemed clear that day but she was just making sure?

I just cannot believe that someone would do that. Quite apart from the potential to transmit the bug to all the other kids - how humiliating for the child if he DID have an accident - nappies do not hold diarrhoea very well. I speak from messy, messy experience.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By SmoothandWilkie on Sat 10-May-08 20:49:59
No, I wouldn't be particularly impressed. She should have told you and asked whether you were happy for him to come. PArticularly if it is bad enough for him to need a nappy on!
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By cupsoftea on Sat 10-May-08 20:48:36
A mum brought her child to dd birthday party & said he had diarrhea and she'd put a pull up type nappy on him (he's 5). He wanted to come to the birthday & was unhappy he wasn't well. She only told me as she was chatting & her ds had run off to join in.

Just hope my kids & the others invited don't get sick.
