Blinking flip, is it the afternoon already?

DH got a Wii Fit yesterday and set it up this morning. DH played on it, Ed played on it and I...gpt 4 mins on it (ooooh, lucky me hmm) with DH constantly walking round me and Ed fussing unbearably (I'll do it, I'll show you) and I get an age rating of +19 years and I realise my right hand side is seriously worse than my left. Thus I feel considerably disabled, frustrated, down and eff off to do the stuff no one else will sad

Oh and yesterday Ed and friends managed to see off the larger of the 2 mini greenhouses in the garden, DH becomes patriarcal and condecending and in the process manages to knack the new cover then say 'It's alright cos I was going to get you one for your birthday'. Like cheers, Your replacing something I already had that you helped to trash? Plus I have to hope the seedlings survive the traumas.

Good news is that I'm overweight but nowhere near obese and done is

WM emptied
Washing sorted for drying
Cat cellar
Downstairs sweeping
Downstairs mopping
Bathroom mopping
staircase cleared of stuff for taking upstairs

If those two don't frame themselves I'm going on strike

Sorry for whinging at you all, thanks for the therapy

GO Seems like one of those days.

We have cleared the cuboard that the old PC sits in downstairs, we havent used it for over a year. DH is going to fix it and we have moved it upstairs to the study for DS1 to play on.

I have filled the cuboard with all the boys art a dn craft stuff - I forgot they had half of it.

I also have done a couple of washes, but just enjoyed lounging about.

We are going to drop my mums walking stick in as she left it here and pop to the shop, but thats it really a lazy weekend in the mad house

Hi all

tort I love the cake!

Just come back from town. DH and I have treated ourselves to a stereo. We didn't have one! blush Had to listen to cd's on the computer, which annoyed me!
It has a record player too. My dad gave us all his old vinyls a while ago, but we didn't have anything to listen to them on, he had recorded them all to cd and had no where to store them so gave them to us.
Talk about a blast from the past!
He has Mowtown, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewert, Mike Oldfield (is it me or do all parents own Tubular Bells!)Rolling Stones, Beatles, Johnathan Livingston Seagull....gosh just loads and loads! all remind me of him!
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Ludaloo on Sat 17-May-08 16:09:46
"have you seen her dressed in gold?" tra la la la

"she's like a rainbow" tra la la

Name that tune grin

Well I am debating whether to do a big blast on the house.
My DH doesn't help, he has the smelliest job ever....comes back in stinking of oil/petrol/white spirits/gearbox fluid.....yuk!!! and it lingers! He is working on an old MG out on the front, and keeps comming in to get things and it stinks!
Makes me want to throw all the windows open and clean!

Actually the kitchen needs special attention. The cooker is minging and the fryer needs a good clean and oil change.
The tiles could do with a wipe down too.

I also have a basket of ironing to do....that will have to wait until after supper though I think.

Luda is it 'she's like a rainbow' by The Rolling Stones? They're using it on an advert for a TV I think and an Indie band in the 90's (Chapterhouse?) did a cover of it.

Although I am taking Grouchy industrial action (I'll invent a union...FLYgo I think) I have found a site that lets you make kids writing practise sheets. I've been searching for ages for those. Lots of printing is going on in the office.

Grouchy Action involves having a migraine, hiding in the bedroom and listening to Woman's Hour, Not a placard or donkey jacket in sight grin I think I'm just sulking big time about feeling ill and Borisy.

Evening all. Manic day here today so not much flying done. At a baby sale this morning (baby stuff obviously not actual babies)then out for lunch, ran around all afternoon just trying to catch up during which time DD banged her head off the tv stand and had a big red bruise over her eye blush Am trying not to be hysterical first time mum but it looks sore and she really cried when she did it.
Hope you've all had a good day.
Tort Cake looks fab, glad DD had a good day.
Bianca Pleased your GP is being helpful. If it's any use I had hypnotherapy CDs for labour and REALLY didn't think they would do anything but when my contractions started I was really calm and stayed that way throughout the delivery. Not like me at all. Am a total control freak and don't cope well with pain. I know it's not really the same thing but I did find it useful and still use some of the visualisations now if I'm feeling stressed.
Luda Milk cartons are a man thing. Don't know any women who glug from the carton. Would slap my DH for it too!
GO Sorry you're feeling rough. Like the strike plan tho grin. Hope Boris gets back in his box soon.

DH is still in bed and I am going to have a nice bath. I did contemplate the beach, but it isn't much fun in the wind.

I am still on a tidying mission too. I have decided to do one room at a time. Starting in the kitchen. I'm not going to move onto another room until I have completely tidied and cleaned EVERYWHERE. I made a good start yesterday, but still have a fair bit to do.

Hi all
been wii fitting. Really good fun.

Strange to say, as I was lumping around like a distressed hippo I though of you Grouchy.grin. That does not sound q right! What I meant was it seemed like a perfect way to work on balance and wondered if that was something you did as physio?

I suggest you through the boys of as it represents your physical therapy. I told dd I had to use it so I did not have a stroke and a heart attack and die.blush

In my defence they have been appalling all weekend. They have had nothing but parties and treats and are unbearable. I am really restricting all luxuries, as they are much better behaved when not spoiled so.

Also been checkin in on poor OJ and her DH. Much as I grumble, it does bring me up short!

We have put the bouncy castle up in the garden......why oh why I don't know!
Firstly it attracts every small child in the close, and I have to then monitor who gets on it (its isn't big enough for more than a handful of them. The girl across the road is ...um.... very large, and if she gets on it with more than a couple of others, it folds in the middle!!!!)

Secondly DD1 is in a mood because she wants to play Catz on the wii and I won't let her. Its a nice day and there is plently to occupy her outside! KIDS!!!!!!!!

Cue total panic and a call to NHS direct who were very good actually and told me she will be fine but probably sleepy. She is in bed as we speak and has been since 11.00. Just checking in

Ed has done some writing, it's getting better but I wish he would keep his pencil on the paper and form letters anti-clockwise. He'll get there I'm sure

Further done is...the front garden, Why, I don't know. Ed wanted to see it and it was a pay off for doing the writing. I ended up triming the shrubs that are going mad in there and pull ivy off the walls (she's always doing it, wish her parents would have a word grin) Well it looks neater now but I've gone a tad wibbly wobbly. I've got sandwiches to do for morning then a soak and bed

Oh yes we booked the freebie Pontins holiday (also thanks to mumsnet) to Prestatin from 23 June (DS2 will be 2 on the 24th) for a week. We upgraded for £40. I love north wales. We honeymooned in Bethesda and had a wonderful time. So we have shown the boys Llanberis railway, cowy castle etc. I can not wait. It is going to be our only holiday this year, due to all my operations and also financial restraits.

Anyway I am off to join DH watching Indie again and then watch NCIS which I am sky+ing

Catch you ladies in the morning

Hello.
Spent most of the day sorting the mountain of washing out. Haven't put much away yet. Kids rooms too messy to get to the draws. I will have to spend all tomorrow up there too i think.
Made butterfly cakes and cherry and almond flapjacks.
Load of washing dried.
DD2's duvet is in the WM. She wet it night before last. She's in a fleece sleeping bag tonight. They slept in with me last night!

Hi Guys,

DD2 is worse. Now has blisters all over the bck of her neck and face and some have appeared on her body and toes too No scabs at all yet and just a couple have burst. I have smeared her in calamine cream and we've managed to get her to bed but I'm not hopeful for a good night's sleep.
Means I cant work again tomorrow....

Hope you're all ok. TMH - your sweet DS

Thanks Tort - We've given her calpol, piriton, calamine cream and bath with bicarb of soda. At least she's sleeping now which is the best thing for her.

I'm glad it will be out of the way for both of them but it breaks your heart when they are properly poorly, doesnt it

Am glad all mine have had it. DS1 had it at a year old. DD1, DD2 and DS2 all had it in 2006.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
