Hi FGS. smile I just clicked "threads I'm on" and this one came up, which was nice. It's often none (I'm an irregular these days rather than a regular) or just the au pair threads where we share our worries, mis-matches and (occasionally) successes. Right. Time for bed! Nos da!

Hello to all. Sorry, I can't keep up these days. I skip through the thread once a week or so and that's it. The house is getting de-cluttered gradually. Dh, kids and I are fine. Our au pair is going home in 2 months and we may have found ourselves another who'll start in Sept! So...I do think of you all even though I'm rarely on the thread and post even less often. Keep up all the good work! Until next time....... smile

Hello you lovely lot

HN hope your pride was bruised more than you, take it easy won't you

TMH Glad it went well with the doc

I've skimmed the thread but can't remember anything sad So I hope you're all healthy and hearty. (sad for the DCs with gastro, it's awful and the fasting is a pain)

Had a busy day. Morning routines, Ed to school, meeting with vicar re the toddler group, Dusting and sorting and the afternoon at school. Just done some gardening and I must crack on with Ed

Can I do a proud me bit please blush I've just finished my reading friends stint from January. one reader has improved their reading age by 9 mths, another by 6 months and one by a whole year. I'm so chuffed with them all and it was a joy to do.

Right, stop yabberring an d get working...TFN

Hi all.

Have been busy at work so no lunch break!

Dcs decided to do painting after school, so have spent last 30mins cleaning up paint (DD kept wondering off to play with something then going back to paint so managed to get paint everywhere). I'm sure messy play is good for kids - but it doesn't do anything for me!

Need to fold and sort laundry and go food shopping after tea.
Have done Ds homework smile.

although i think as dame has said i would be panicking between now and then wanting everything to be perfect, but i would assume the other person involved feels the same.

have re-tidyed the living room

the dc have gone off to play in the bedsrooms, so will prob need to redo those as well at some point today hmm

Not sure what I think about the house swap thing, think I'd be to stressed by having to get my house perfect and spotless for themhmm but a lot of people do it and it works so if you re ok with the concept then why not?

Back from school run, bribing my children with promises of playing on the wii if they tidy for megrin and maybe some cookies too!

Hall is a bit better, living and playroom tidyig now.

TMH I can recommend Slimming World (she says...eating a crisp sandwich hmm)
Its one of the easiest diets to follow that I have tried (and I have tried a fair few!)
I have currently swayed a bit from dieting.....I tend to do it for so long and then get bored/tempted back to junk!

I am going to be starting again very soon, as I did so well I don't want to pile any more back on.
I was 11 stone 6lb when I started in January....I'm 10stone 3lb now. I'd like to get to 9 stone 6lb ideally....that would be a loss of 2 stone in total, which I hope will stop me putting any more back on!

Your whole operation sounds very good. The consultant does sound very helpful and reassuring. I guess that puts your mind at rest a bit.
If you want to have a go at slimming down a bit...I'll join you for some moral support however you decide to do it smile

Afternoon all

I am back from the hospital regarding the mastectomy and reconstruction and the platics consultant was lovley. If I love 18kg then I can have the transflap one where they take it from your tummy and give you a tummy tuck at the same time. He said due to my body shape I am an idea candidiate. He also reconds that I will lose another 2kg from each breast during the surgery.

If I do not manage to lose the weight then it is implants. I can not have the back muscle ones done as my body shape is not ideal for it.

So it looks like it will go ahead october time ish if I start losing now.

I am back to see him in 4 weeks and he will take photos and show me how I might look - scars and all.

I am going to try and lose the weight as it is going to be a long operation at least 12 hours so being fitter is better.

Just getting organised for party - have some pre-packed party bags with 3 little colouring books and some mini-pens. Each child will have t shirt they have decorated, piece of cake, sweeties from pinata and any prizes they win in games. That sounds enough do you think?

I have tendency to go OTT. I have a load of pens/pencils/novelties which I can use in future, and am trying not to spend stupidly.

OOh yeah can I please get your opinion on something?

We are going to visit family at the end of the summer who live quite a way away and there is no room in their house for us to stay. I had a look at renting a small cottage and its looking as though it would cost around £400.00 for the week.

Anyway long story short my friend knows someone really well who lives in teh same are as our family and they have a daughter who lives in our town. They are an older couple and have offered for us to do a house swap so they can come and visit their daughter during the same week and it obviously won't cost us anything.

What do you guys think ? Would you do it? would you be scared of them trashing your house?

Is v tempting as it will save so much cash!!!

Back againgrin

Right, had quick look at yesterday as was confused by bank talk, sounds like a plan to megrin sad for unexpected bills, why does that always happen just after you've spent money that you now can't afford?

Nutsaboutchocolate hope you are feeling better today, take it easy.

Grouchy, hope you are feeling ok after yesterday too.

Hello to everyone else, that's as much as my brain will hold I'm afraidblush

Thank you all for being nice to me (even those that were being strictwink) The thing is I was doing really well and in theory, it shouldn't take that much actual hard work to get the house looking reasonable again. DH pointed out last night that someone may need to sleep on our sofa bed in the playroom at some point quite soon so I want to make sure it's tidy enough to fold it out and find the spare bedding.

I liked it when my kitchen looked like someone else's and all that really needs is piles of crap sorting and a good wipe around whilst clearing surfaces.
My hall was the first thing I tidied and lasted the longest but messy now as i folded the highchair for dh to take up to the loft 2wks ago and is still there, he used the pushchair and didn't fold it up or put in the car which I always do and that's been there a week and now stuff is gathering around them, hmm why does that happen? so I can do a bit of that but need to 'encourage' DH, he'll say nag.

So,I shall set my timer for 15 and see how it goes, if I do 15 on and 15 off will that be ok?

Sorry for huge waffling, off to start.

dame don't feel too bad about the lack of flying....you being fit and healthy for your baby's birth is far more important. Just do the basics if I were you.....rope someone else in to help too grin

Ruby I'm in....I'll be the gettaway driver, I'm a bit nifty on the old 0 to 60 grin
Glad you and got to chat...its god to communicate when things are a bit stressful. I think the provider instinct comes out in most men when things are tight.

Well the child starvation programme is fairly stressful! They have had the odd rich tea biscuit and piece of dry bread, but they can't actually eat anything else until at least lunch time.
Will take them into town this morning and distract them I think.

I managed a run last night, no idea how far it was....will have to go back up there in the car to measure it, but I am sure it was a personal best. My knees ache a bit this morning.

Hi all,

am checking out Bank of England for our Big Heist - Dame, you may be a decoy - you won't be able to run away fast enough!

Actually Dame, I am going to speak to you very severely! You are very pg and spd, so you cannot start doing mega housework. Walk round with a bin liner and dump anything you can. Potter and tidy up, but you need to rest and build your strength. If you do anything, empty the freezer and do a big online shop (lots of loo roll) and then take it easy. Once baby is here, you can start to develop little routines. I found an osteopath made a huge difference to my recovery time with dd3 with spd.

Bianca, sounds like lots going well. Hope you and dh can get on better. Have you made appointment with doc???

RR is FL police today - so watch out.

I am going to check party supplies, paint and alien grin and maybe shop for party food.

DH and I had chat about work, still don't really know how long we can live without income (esp if I order wii items!), but at least he knows I don't blame him . He was on guilt trip about 'providing for family'. Silly sod - not his fault.

Anyhow life goes on . RR goes back to bank blueprints.
