Morning.

Sounds like fun Ruby. What are you doing for the party? I need to organise something for DS, so far he's narrowed the guest list down to everyone in the class!!

Morning EHM.

Done washing up, hung out washing and got another load on.

I have decided to do weekly to do lists instead of daily (not much is getting done).

To DO:

Clean bathroom
Hoover
Dust
Buy milk and bread
Tel Child Tax Credits
Do missions.
hmm.

Morning allsmile

I'm still lurking, but struggling to achieve even the most basic level of FLYing. I'm not doing lists for a while, my aim today is to get all the washing put away. I keep washing and drying stuff and pilin it up but not folding neaty or ptting it away.

1St lodad of washing is o the line, nappies inthe machine. Dry stuff from every other day this week is piled up on dd1s bed, for m to sort, fold and put away....sad
I'll try and report back in a bit.

We are having t shirt painting party! Been shopping - bought t shirts, fabric paint, fabric glue and trimmings.

Plus some tableware for at home.
Spent fortunes and still need more t shirts!

House in total disarray, but tbh I don't care today! I would say two hours would have it lovely again, I just don't want to waste two sunshiney hours!

Waves to Scatty Dame Baby FGS THM and Jellyshoes

My 1st sit down of the day. I did the morning routine, spent an good hour chatting with Ed's teacher and mentor about his progress (seems fine and gross motor skills are an issue but he's A1 academically) then FIL took me to B&Q. Got a bale of compost, some lavenders, a margurite, seeds, pots and one of those herb pots with holes for each herb (or I might put Ed's trailing cherry toms in them)

Made banana tea bread but...sadshocksad I burnt itsad. I did it to the recipie so...I don't know hmm

Hope every one is having a lovely, sunny day

Groucy Watch out re the herb pot, I dont use ours anymore they are a nightmare at holding the water hmm

OK for herbs that dont need much, but would put toms in them.

I am back from the PO and just off out to get DS1 from school

Hi all.

Jas I have the same problem with laundry (it just piles up). The trouble with line drying is the ironing!

Luda you sound glam today smile.

Ruby party sounds good.

I've booked a soft play room at leisure centre for DS (5). We can invite 25 kids (the whole class)! Do you think I'll get away with giving them a balloon instead of party bag (can't manage 25 party bags)? This is our first party so a bit unsure. hmm

Need to get the tea on.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By TheMadHouse on Wed 07-May-08 17:35:14
Scatty - I dont really approve of party bags, it encourages children to expect things at others birthdays. I think a ballon is a nice idea.

Tea is over nad done with and the boys are in their PJ,s - they had a shower at swimming.

luda how exciting a May Ballenvy grin @ you making it up to dhwink
scatty we where at a 3rd birthday party at a local softplay centre a couple of weeks ago. All ellie was interested in was a ballon attached to the party bag. All I was interested in was the slice of birthday cake within party bag. I agree with TMH kids shouldn't expect anything when they go to a party. The mum who had the party is very easy going & not materialistic she was horrified to hear from some of the other mums that they expect, not the child a min of £10 worth of stuff in the bagshock I was outraged tooshock This particular group mum had said to her well if we are spending at least £10 on a present thats what we expect!shock I would prefer that they didn't give a present if that was their attitude. I certainly don't expect people to buy ellie birthday presents party or no party.
blush sorry for the rambleblush
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By scattyspice on Wed 07-May-08 18:22:33
shock £10! That would cost me £250 on party bags!

I'm glad you agree. I have npthing against pary bags as such (except paying for them LOL).

Zero flying done. Took DS to football after school, except he didn't want to join in. Then after tea he wanted me to play football with him and kicked 3 balls over the fence! Our garden is too small for proper football. Now he wants to try the football club again hmm. I think he's got to the age when he wants a bit more than I can offer, but is still anxious about joining in things.

Yes but Ruby You are the party queen are you not.

I am back from shopping and it is all popped away.

DH put the boys to bed and sorted their clothes etc for the morning.

He also tidied the conservatory and made me a cup of tea smile

So dinner is in the oven and then thats it for me.

Busy day tomorrow again

Taking the boys and my neice out to the park for the morning and to MacDs for lunch, picking up mum, droping neice home, then mum and DS2 to my house, DS1 to Preschool and me to the post office.

I would also like to go to the garden centre for some pea seeds and some other bits, then mum home and trip to Aldi with the boys for all our veg and stuff that I get from there.

Busy day today.
Went to toddlers this morn. Then went to the park with friends for a picnic.
Came home, walked Mickey then off on school run. DS2 had a club until 4 so i took DS1 to have a hair cut. Went to pick DS2 up and he got asked to a friends for tea!

Came home, made tea then cut the lawn.
DD's went to bed a bit later than norm, they were having fun outside. smile

My bath is running,

Whistles and playdoh.....nightmare party bag treats! Whistles in the car all the way home making your ears bleed, and playdoh all over the back seat by the time you get them out.

I usually go for a balloon, piece of cake, and a small notebook/pencil type thing....yo-yo's went down well one year (and up grin)

scatty can usually pick up packs of cheap whistles in wilkos, shouldnt work out too expensive

just been chatting to a friend we off to the local strand for a picnic tomorrow with our youngest dc whilst the big ones are in school.
will be good as there is so much to do there- i predict no FLYing again tomorrow in my house

Don't put whistles in if you want the other parents to speak to you ever again!

I buy £1 shop stuff throughout the year and split packs to do party bags. They usually work out at about £1 each.

Hi All

This lovely weather, just what the doctor ordered. grin I did over do things out in the garden yesterday though.hmm I cut the lawns.grin I could use the mower as a sort walking aid. It was great to be able to cut the grass. The problem I got was last night. My arms were killing me. They really hurt to move and really ached when I kept them still. I could not win. I could not even use my lappy. I really wanted to post a message last night to say how happy I was with cutting the grass.

We went to the park after school today as well. Not much flying done here today. We were enjoying the sunny weather too much to be indoors flying. grin

£10 for a party bag shock I thought party bags came about for taking a piece of birthday cake home, then a few little goodies started being added. But to get £10 worth of party bag at a normal child's birthday is taking the P!$$ TBH

For the DSs party we did party bags. They had A piece of birthday cake. A small note book and pen. I big balloon, A small bag of jelly sweets and a little hand made card (DSs made them)saying thank-you for coming to DS1 and DS2 party. We hope you had a fun time. I got the bits from Tesco. Cheap in there are a few party bag fillers and there are lots to chose.

Tort you said you are off to bed soon. I`m in bed already grin

I seen a MN tip the other day saying to put your PJs on before logging into MN, As it is easier to get in to bed after you have been on MN too long.
My tip would be..............
"Get a lappy then you can be in bed and still be on MN" grin

I`m not staying logged in to long tonight though. We are off to the shops. I need to get some summer clothes for me. All mine are too small. blush I have put too much weight on. Though I dont eat a lot, Its been all this not being able to move very much. Oh well I need some new (different) clothes.

Night night
