Tuesday's mission

Try strawberry and banana - put in your fruit and then add orange or apple juice, some ice if you like, and whizz up. Really nice! Most combinations work actually.

Having a quiet day today, so will try to catch up on the clutter!

wash dishes
do laundry
sweep kitchen floor
vacuum downstairs
clean bathroom

Morning Ladies smile

Hmmmm smoothies sound yummy!

I am in the dog house blush I woke up this morning, got the kids up, carried on with my routine....and FORGOT DH's BIRTHDAY!!! Oooooppps! He got up (which is quite unusual) went to the shop to get bread and packed lunch bits and came back and said "They sell birthday cards over there too you know" shock I had completely forgottton! Had to scramble the kids to get his card and pressie! (luckily hadn't forgotton that bit!)

I think I'm forgiven...but I do feel pretty bad blush

I would have remembered eventually....just so busy trying to sort the kids out!

My brain isn't with it yet this morning. DS asked for a drink, and then I got carried away doing something....then he asked again 10 minutes later, so I went to do it again, then my neighbour came round, so I forgot again! I have just caught him trying to climb up to the tap in the downstairs loo blush blush even then I barked at him to get down and "what on earth are you doing!" "getting a drink" was his reply blush poor lad! I have no got him a large drink to make up!
My poor men eh!!! blush

Morning

shock Luda and lol @ forgetting dhs birthday! grin The morning routine of getting the kids ready for school doesn't leave much time for birthdays!

Ruby yummy smoothies. I've never made them but like to drink them grin

FGS poor you being stuck in the house with poorly children. Hope recovery is speedy.

All who offered support yesterday Thanksblush sorry to have burdened you. I'll have to work up to it for a few days but will try and get to the doctors when I can. Keep reminding me gently please.

Once I moved away from the computer and stopped dwelling on things yesterday I had a lovely day. I started some jobs in the garden (always a stress-buster for me) and dh and the kids joined me once they got home. We had a great time and got loads of jobs done I'm going to carry on with it today I think.

The weatehr is beautiful here today. I already have all the french doors open at the back of the house
The kids have a country dancing show to put on at school this afternoon so I'll be going along to watch them after lunch grin

TMH It was a one night show, went really well, but I feel a bit weird now I don't have so much to do anymore!

Rehearsals for the next one start in three weeks though, so that's good.

Back now - demo went really well. I was just a little heavy with the banana!

Now Bianca, how do we do things?<<RR assumes school ma'am voice>>

How about

Monday - decide if want DH or friend to go to doc s with you or go solos

Tues/Wed - phone for appointment some days in future (if like my surgery could take 2 days to get thorugh on phone!)

Thurs - write few lines on what happens including some events missed or curtailed through problems

Forget about until appointment

Day of appointment- check in with Flyladies for moral support. Go speak to doc!

Luda you didn't really forget his birthday, just got a little distracted. I did the same with our aniversary, was mid morning before I remembered.

Bianca I can relate to the anxiety thing. I got a book out of the library (anxiety for dummies) which was very helpful. Lots of practical ideas. I found it helpful to write down my feelings.I also chew gum (not attractive I know) when I'm feeling anxious, it helps to calm me down. I'd definately seek help from GP though if you can.

FGS Curse the pox, luckily mine had it together last summer.

So many people seem to suffer anxiety in some form...

Ruby I'm going to do my best, it's the best I can volunteer for now. I'll ask dh which day would suit him, I think even if he were to come and waitwith me (if not come in too) it'd be a help.

Grouchy I found your email - thanks. I'll reply later x

I've been in the garden all morning and had a relaxing time pottering about moving plnts and putting in some new ferns
NO FLYing other than laundry which is all blowing dry on the line.

Off to watch the kids do their dancing now. Dd looked so pretty going into school in her summer dresswith flowers in her hair etc

Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By FunkyGlassSlipper on Tue 06-May-08 13:45:55
That made me think of <<Rickyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy>> from eastenders.

Bianca - I would seriously ask DH to come in with you for your appointment. It may make you less nervous.

Cozy Coupe 2 arrived for DD2 this morning so DH came home in lunch break to assemble and DD1 is now hogging it grin DD2 not well. I think it must be her teeth as she is grumpy from grumpdom today...

She's just 7 Ruby Easily led astray with a boy the same age. Very bad behaviour. She seems remorseful now but still....
I had to literally drag her home

Old enough to know betterangry And old enough to walk away when the boy started it.(she claims he did it, she just watched)

Bianca - it might be what she needs to snap out of it. She's been a bit troubled for a while about other stuff hasnt she?
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By BiancaCastafiore on Tue 06-May-08 17:12:23
She has had a few issues, yes. We seemed to be past most of them but still has these awful rages sometimes.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By FunkyGlassSlipper on Tue 06-May-08 17:26:29
Hopefully them talking to her will make her realise that this friend isnt a good one to hang about with....

Try not to worry. The police that come around will be really nice but they will be stern with her.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By BiancaCastafiore on Tue 06-May-08 19:37:16
The policeman has been and was very nice (almost too nice...). I realised it was the first time dd has evre really met a policeman so we took things gently. He spoke to her about the consequences of her actions etc. I think it's gone in. She was very sorry but seemed to cheer up no end once she realised she wasn't going to be "under-arrested"

She's in bed now.

I'm off to mow the grass.

BBL x
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By EHM on Tue 06-May-08 20:06:07
oh dear bianca hopefully the threat of a future 'under-arrested' will be enough to stop dd. How are you today?
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By RubyRioja on Tue 06-May-08 20:09:54
Bianca - could you get her to write/tell a story about her alter ego - a really naughty girl to maybe encourage her to think what might be repercussions of throwing stones for example?
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By BiancaCastafiore on Tue 06-May-08 20:12:14
That's a good idea Ruby, I'll try that with her after school tomorrow.
