ok I've had a think and can't come up with anone as a style icon !
Normally I am quite casual/indie but am trying to smarten up a bit more as I approach 30, wearing little shirts rather than t-shirts iykwim - I want to look like me but a WOW me, like my wedding day I guess. Stand out, shine, get attention !
I don't want to regret what I wear, the same way I felt about my wedding, you know ?
Just don't know where to start and think I have left it too late !

ok. casual indie girl like myself. you have a fab figure! i am loving one-shouldered dresses myself at the mo.

link too long but if you go to topshop.com, click dresses then going out dresses. there's two pages, on the first is a carrie-style very floral prom dress if you're brave!

my pick would be the plain black one-shouldered dress from the second page. pretty flattering with the right bra and flashes skin that is usually good on everyone eg. no cellulite or stretch marks on shoulder.

the dress is the canvas on which you can create any image. to give it an edge i'd recommend maybe over the knee black socks which can look classy if there's only a small gap showing leg. with coloured heels.

of course you could wear black tights, or coloured tights, or bare legs. i love black dresses with either coloured tights or black tights and coloured shoes.

with hair up statement earrings would be fab. got beautiful ones in awear yesterday-peacock feathers. bit more unusual then diamond-type earrings. tapping into the indie vibe. alternative yet glam.

you could even jazz a black dress up with leopard print tights. but i love leopard print!

asos.com is a bit hit and miss but has pages of stock so can be a good one for giving you ideas.

i also swear by big rings for adding that little bit extra. if you dont wear much make up dont pile it on but consider maybe a wash of colour on the eye. quick and easy but different! i like green with lots of black mascara and clear lipgloss.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
