Have had 2 other pairs before I got DH to buy me GHDs and I would say don't waste money on any others - once you get GHDs you will see why.

Look and see if you can get some reconditioned ones on Ebay.

Babyliss professional. They are actually really really good. Of course not GHD but close I would say,

They cost about £40? I got them with £10 off from boots, seem to do deals on them every now and then.

I can't afford them but if you want to straighten really curly hair then GHDs are worth the investment

Would recommend Babyliss.

I have these, and they seem to work well, although I'm not a regular hair straightener - haven't tried them cordless, have always used them with the cord attached though.

I have andrew collinge (sp) ones that were reduced from £35 to £5 in boots a few months back they work fine on my hair (have got fairly straight hair so only use them to do the ends and style it a bit)

I have the Revlon wet to dry straighteners and they seem pretty good!

Are there any that are good but which don't cost and arm and a leg?

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
