I only have £30 max.

I have a size 10 waist, 32E norks, good legs, flabby tummy.

I am going to my mate from college's wedding. The ex who broke my heart at 18 (yeah I know, 9 years on it shouldn't be important) and the bitch friend who betrayed me (with said ex) will be there.

I want to look good.

Indie/rock type friends and I want to feel "me" (also indie/rock) so not too flouncy iyswim.

HELP!

Hmmm, does it have to be a dress? They're all a bit flouncy at the moment. I've seen lots of gorgeous dresses around but the nice ones are all about £200!

Flame, I would go for something like a pair of skinny jeans and a vest with some killer heels. No suitable dresses, and the skirts are all a bit ra ra? You're not an emo are you?

I good vest and bra will also show off your amazing chest quite nicely.

Not jeans for a wedding though?
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Flame on Wed 14-May-08 21:31:52
grin That could work - have a pair of stilletto sandals, or my mate said I could borrow her black patent ones. Spent ages trying on fabulous shoes in new look the other day, but couldn't have walked in any of them blush

Nice jeans would be absolutely fine given who they are (tis just the evening do)

Perhaps some highwaist black trousers with a flair at the bottom. Topshop are quite good for trousers and jeans
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Flame on Wed 14-May-08 21:35:30
would high waist not just give me pregnant belly?

<ponders if nappiesgalore's trosers from xmas would fit hmm>
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By lazarou on Wed 14-May-08 21:39:08
No, because you have a good waist and you could always wear a chunky belt. High waist ones with a flair will balance you out

blush should have refreshed before posting.

Can't get links to ref. correct pages.

Follow the first link and click on 11, it's the last two.

Follow the third link and click on 7, it's the third one. But I meant the green version whick is less nuts.

If you follow the link in my second post blush it's the third one. The pink is vile IMO but the black version was ok.

smile

Runs screaming from Style and beauty. first and last visit I fear.

I like stripey with the knotted type back (first link)

2nd scares me a little wink Can't work out how to see black though so that could be why!!

3rd I like! Possibly not for the wedding, but in general grin

If you click on the picture of the item you get foul tasteful accessories, if you click on the item again you see the colour choice. Crap system.

I still think this (from H&M) could be an option.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Flame on Thu 15-May-08 15:44:15
Lol! I am still pondering - computer died last night and have been out all day.

I like that last dress (I like lots of the other stuff too) - pondering if that with magic knickers could work.

Next Weds I have time without DS, so I will head to town (which conveniently has the shops linked to grin) and try and find everything to try on! If you're really lucky I will go armed with a camera and you can help choose wink
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By DisplacementActivity on Thu 15-May-08 17:32:30
The last dress (H&M one) is only 12.90 euros, according to my currency converter thats a tenner. Plenty of budget left for shoes/accessories - bonus!

Go on take the camera smile

What about this?

Do look on ASOS - they have such good priced stuff and most of it is super trendy - I have good legs and flabby tum and I cover up to mid thigh and then have long legs out and don;t have to worry about the rest of me - have lots of long sort of tunic dresses like this one!

www.asos.com/Asos/Applique-Detail-Tunic/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=251466&cid=4168&clr=Pink&sh=0

The khaki one is nicer than the pink!

"the black red shoes no knickers"...Sounds good!

Red is tough, the 'wrong' shade can look slutty IMO, you can never see the exact shade from a photo. I'd love to be able to wear red sad

Might be a shame to hide your good legs? Are you tall?

Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By DisplacementActivity on Thu 15-May-08 21:08:21
Ah, OK. So, have I got this right? Long of leg, shorter of upper body and big norks? The frills and tie on the DP one might disguise the littleness of your waist... Can't be having that shock
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Flame on Thu 15-May-08 21:29:53
Yup, I am average when it comes to top, but always "longer length" for trousers.

We don't want little waist lost, but we also don't want baby bulge emphasised. I really need to start exercising and find stomach muscles blush

I do really like the DP one, and I wouldn't need a new bra for it (big big bonus there!!!) -can spend the bra money on shoes.... who needs bras anyway? hmmwink
