All welcome

Veils drawn over last week...

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

- Sunscreen at all times
- No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
- Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
- Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
- Apply body cream as often as possible
- Use hand cream
- Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
- Eat healthily
- Be happy

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

www, hope you've had a lovely evening.

saggars, did you get your photo done? DH had to have his done so that I can practise darts he can be on the board at school (chair of govs). Only there are extra copies, which have been sent home...wtf am I supposed to do with all these extra photos (incl 8 passport-sized ones - but not suitable cos they're head and shoulders, rather than just head iykwim).

DS2 has been to the dentist. Tooth should reroot fine, we need to watch out for nerve damage (ie tooth turning black - ew) and he's got to avoid contact sports etc for a couple of weeks - blardy nightmare with DS2. He's also managed to cut his finger tonight quite badly, grrrr.

- Sunscreen yy
- No booze, well...except gulps sips of DH's.
- 45 mins exercise bike plus I swam, steamed and slathered again.
- Lots of water/weak tea.
- Apply body cream. done.
- Use hand cream yy
- Go to bed early, Stupid O'clock, forgot I had to deal with schoolrun this morning.
- Eat healthily. Not too bad, although DH did force chocolate down my neck tonight wink
- Be happy - well, we don't have a BNP councillor, so that's reason to be cheerful.

Attended a funeral today - a grandad from school, it should have been a perfunctory task really, but I had avoided overlooked the fact that he was also the DFIL of a good friend/grandad of my sons' schoolfriends, he was also a good friend of my w stepmama and my dad. Didn't help that stepmama decided to blank me as far as possible, which will no doubt be twisted to me blanking her... (even though both my stepsisters were quite amicable). Oh hum, no one likes a funeral, I know.

I do like my friend's family though, both sides. They're a cosy mix, and her mum reminds me a little of my mam.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Oh, forgot the details of the cruise...

10 nights around the Canaries next Easter, with stops are Madeira, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Vigo.

P&O's Oriana.

It's quite formal I believe.

gulp.

Oh dear. Less than 24 hours before I have to have a fitness check prior to session with trainer. Have got wine in fridge. And cheese. Feels a bit like last supper with roast chicken for comfort. Must not drink too much as winey fumes will not be good.

Seem to be running late with everything today so my great plans for a body overhaul have amounted to nothing. Had to leave house with dripping wet hair to get DD to sport. A great look - of course all other parents looked as though they had been to beauty salon first. Don't think I will ever get in that league!

Ho hum. DrWho soon so must enjoy empty house for next 30 mins before all children arrive back ravenous and loud.

Have a graet w/e everyone.

ureb - cruise sounds great, I do like a bit of sunshine early in the year (never bloody get away though). Your boys are really on a roll for injuries right now aren't they?!

yoyo - good luck with trainer tomorrow.

We've had a nice, fairly restful (at least by our standards) day in the garden. And I do not ache. smile

I've eaten 2 x cereal; ham, cheese, salad, bread & butter; apples & carrots; handful of chocolate raisins; fish & chips & peas. Quite a lot of water.

Sunscreen & hand cream and body lotion. Still neglecting my feet. I'm also sleeping better though this is only achieved through going to bed at 12pm or later - not perhaps, the obvious choice for an enormously pregnant woman but it works for me! 23 days to go and counting down...

Hello all, have been awol but need to get back before I get into bad habits again.

Hope everyone is ok, I've completely lost track!

Will start with a vengence tomorrow. I'm signed up for a 10k run next Sunday so not doing too badly but I need to get back on track with water and potions.

ttfn!

Just got back from gym. Heavier than I thought, couldn't bear to work out waist and hip conversion from cm to inches, politely declined BMI analysis and then had to stop twice during the session as I felt so faint. This is going to be a struggle but I have booked my next two sessions so am feeling very committed at the moment. My trainer was very nice and encouraging and I am hoping so much that this is going to be a success.

Off for a shower now and then cutting lawn before going for a knockabout game of tennis with DD2.

ureb - no I didn't go for the photo. I'll blame my aged brain. Cruise sounds lovely smile

Yoyo - did you eat/ drink enough before the gym? Don't overdo things to begin with - passing out on the treadmill is not good for you!

bamamama - am envy of your 10k next week.

That said I supposed to be doing a 16 mile bike ride next Saturday. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to manage it as my knee is far from right although I did do a couple of miles on the bike yesterday and it's no worse. I'me a bit depressed about the lack of running TBH - the effect on my mental health is one of the reasons I've kept it up all this time. Or maybe I'm miserable because I'm not drinking - which is far more easily solved!
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By yoyo on Sun 04-May-08 21:26:54
Saggar - no idea why I felt so rotten. The trainer really wasn't pushing me hard. The second time it happened I was doing light weights on a machine. Very strange.

Have felt cheerful all day despite the shock of the weighing scales so lots of happy hormones were obviously released. Great fun attempting to play tennis and have done lots of little jobs that I have been putting off for ages.

Quite fancy an early night now.

Morning all, am returning to the fold after having a really, really unhealthy few weeks . I have got to get back on track or will have undone all my good work within a few months, frankly.

unknownrebel - eek at your ds's tooth and also his cut, how is he today? Sorry about the funeral too. The cruise sounds lovely.

duchess - the countdown has begun I see .

yoyo - are you getting over a cold / coming down with a cold? Both of those can really affect working out at the gym.

bamamama - a 10K run, how lovely!! <<don't think I could manage a 10k walk at the moment>>.

How are you Marina?

How is the carb thing going www?

saggar - 16 mile bike ride <<see my comments re bamamama above>>.

Happy Bank Holiday Monday one and all .

Hello, well I did day 1 yesterday:

bacon and eggs
steak with salad and blue cheese
camembert and dolcelatte
chicken with tarragon, double cream and lemon juice, salad with avocado
salami and dolcelatte
lots of water
multi vits
no booze
went to bed at 11.30 but feel fine!

Can't quite believe it'll work, it seems wrong but we shall see. Have had bacon and eggs for breakfast. Apparently I'll feel shite on day 3 (tomorrow, back at work) or 4 (weds, workign from home) but equally, I may not.

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday!

www - the food looks fab. Can it work? (I don't do dieting but if I did, I'd be sooo happy with that)!!

batters - was wondering where you'd got to. Have you had time to get to the gym recently?

envy at long bike rides & 10k runs.

And congratulations to Stoke City supporters.

I have had an exceptionally good bootcamp morning - aided by the weather, which was supposed to be wet but is gloriously sunny. Showered/body scrubbed/flexitolled/self-tanning lotion all over/face & hand cream. I've done the animals, walked round the paddocks accompanied by happy, rugless ponies and cleaned the chickens out. DCs are playing with new, clean sand in sandpit. I just have to decide weather to iron their uniforms now before I start to ache or go and sit in the garden.

So far have eaten a croissant and glass of lime cordial spiked with Spatone.

Yesterday was quite good too, had lunch out but had prawns in Marie Rose sauce baguette and a huge salad.

Lots and lots of water, raw carrots & apples!

Have a lovely Bank Holiday.

Had a good Bank holiday everyone?

We went up to the Peak District for a hike from hell walk. Should have been a nice easy stroll as dd was coming but she changed her mind at the last minute. dh changed the route and I ended up having a close encounter in a muddy bog and being stuck up to my calves. Thank the Lord for the proper footwear which managed to stay on my feet as dh extricated me. I doubt my boots will ever be the same again. shock

Knee held up under the strain though and still no booze!

Marina - although Stoke went up our other local team, Port Vale, crashed down another division and TBH I sense it's the beginning of the end for them.

Hello batters smile

Yes Duchess, the boys are having a bit of a run. A bit of cotton wool wouldn't go amiss! DS2's top lip is giving him more aggro than his tooth, but he's ok.

Yoyo, are you feeling ok now?

Oh dear, Saggars, sounds like an erm adventure!

Yes Saggars, how Port Fail Vale have survived this long amazes me. Have followed their (mis)fortunes for years too (a cousin was signed to them once upon a time).

How's it going www? Food sounds fab for yesterday.

I've managed to lose 2 lb!

- Sunscreen yy
- No booze
- No exercise - it's a bank holiday!
- Lots of water/weak tea.
- Apply body cream. Maybe later.
- Use hand cream yy
- Go to bed early, midnightish last night.
- Eat healthily. Not too bad.
- Be happy - Have managed to lose 2 lb, not bad considering Saturday's chip bap and pie n pea supper!

Have tried on a LBD today that I've never worn, although I've had it 14 years (Bought for a Christmas Do then felt tight on the night - I was pg but didn't know it at the time) It's a fairly classic style, lol, I don't do high fashion, so still wearable. Anyhoo, it fits on the bust and hips, but is rather tight around the midriff (looks ok frontways on, but sideways ooh nononono). This is the problem I have with frocks, and I really need to do something about my midriff, aarrgghh, but midriff exercising always seems like such hard work.

Have to say was chuffed to actually get into the dress, lol.

Hello all. Just briefly checking in as I'm trying to cut back on the MNing (pah!). Anyhoo, bootcamping going OK although I did have fish and chips for lunch yesterday.
Also, after much ummimg and aahhing we've decided to ttc#2 so although this is the first month of trying and at 37 and 41 hardly likely to hit the jack pot first time round, I've managed to convince myself I 'feel a bit ill'. Bound to be heading for a fall...grin. Only a week and a bit off trying to keep of the conception boards.

Hope sun is shining with you all - it's gone cold here, what is the point of staying???

Hello all, hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend. We did lots of walking - including a lovely trip to hampstead heath on Saturday - and I even managed my first bit of gen-yoo-ine post-birth exercise - went swimming on Saturday. Bliss - and a lot easier when you're not carting a 10ib baby around in your stomach. Enjoyed it so much I'm not sure it really counts as exercise ...

Food-wise, a not-too-indulgent weekend (bar the odd burger and ice cream) (and glass of wine) (and glass of cider) (ok and several other glasses of wine).

Other things - managed to buy sun cream for DS but have failed to apply any to myself yet shock which is a huge mistake as I am pale as the proverbial driven snow and must treat the sun with constant vigilance. So that's my task for this week.

bamamama - how exciting. Good luck - and keep us posted!

www - my friend (getting married in two weeks, currently an extremely svelte size 10) swears by cutting out carbs when she wants to lose weight (she loves all things bread and pasta, and puts on weight quite easily). No-carbs plus exercise definitely works for her.

Right - must put tea on. See you all later!

Well, yesterday,

4 rashers of bacon and 2 fried eggs
rare steak with butter and salad
salmon steak and salad and tomatoes
loads of water
vitamins, milk thistle and fish oils

today
2 rashers bacon and 2 fried eggs
smoked salmon wraps with cream cheese inside
half an avocado
some salami and camembert
brazil nuts
lemon sole with lemon butter
salad with olive oil dressing
prawns
loads of water
vitamins, milk thistle and fish oils

Used sunscreen at 7.30am AND 4.30pm when I left for home

feel ok. Appararently I will feel terrible tomorrow (working at home) or next day or I may not, we'll see.

Went home via Marylebone and Bicester, due to lovely Marina emailing me about signal probs at Euston and so had relaxing journey rather than replacement bus service etc etc. Dh collected me and then we had to go and get my car but it was ok.

enid, 8lbs, well done! Dh is playing GTA now. I traipsed all the way to the only Argos in London who had it, and all the way home again, arriving 1.5 hours later due to traipse only for him to say "I've got it" - he got it from our teeny Woolworths, no stock crisis at all. The rest of the country have been fighting every time some stock's come in, gah. Just sold it on ebay today for £2 more than I paid, not worth my time, frankly! So sympathies.

L&S, nice to see you, REMEMBR sunscreen, really, you must.

unknwn shock at eclair! But hope you enjoyed it!

Yoyo, well done on gym going, I am v impressed at anyone who manages this!

DofN, your life sounds like the Darling Buds of May, with horses! It sounds lovely if tiring. No idea on the diet but will report back.

Saggars, will walking help if it's the exercise? If it's the wine of course, ahve some!

Welcome back batters!

www - your food looks unbelievably good. I want some bacon right now.

The weather is gorgeous and I've been making the most of it. I have a very easy 3 weeks planned now, no playdates, no hosting lunches, just pottering about between school runs.

I've eaten cereal; raw carrots & apples a-plenty; cheese, coleslaw, salad & breadsticks; very salty crisps; sausages, chips & corn on the cob; strawberries & cream. At least 2l of water.

Face & hands yes. Feet - not yet but they need a soak as they are stinky a bit grubby and ache lots so I'll be sure to put Flexitol on afterwards.

Duchess - I know we're not too old in the scheme of things but as ds was a happy accident we've never actually officially ttc before so I just can't see how we'll be successful first off. Mind you I hope it is pretty speedy as I suspect the process could become all encompassing. When are you due btw, surely dc is imminent.

Am back in the groove I think. Went to gym Monday and Tuesday and going to aqua aerobics tonight. Also gardened yesterday. I remembered that this time a year ago two hours of gardening would have exhausted me but I felt fine afterwards yesterday so am obviously a lot fitter (though to be fair would have been very difficult to be anything else). Have eaten well too.

High on happiness, yep. dd came back from her trip away on Friday and it is so amazingly nice to have her company again, and I am trying to take the great things in my life less for granted .

Hello all
HOW'S THE HEAD TORTY?
Sorry to hear you've been under the weather again bundy, "too tired to knit" is not good.
Given how many bootcampers also forswear the Overlap in another part of the forest, are we all "too repressed to shag other people's partners indiscriminately", maybe? <looks beadily at olive, www and "bitters">
So glad dd is back safe and well batters, there is nothing to beat the reunion feeling Your ds will be fine too honest, www. I felt sick waving little ds off on his first residential trip last October, and he had a fantastic if filthy time.
Not doing great on bootcamp today other than sensible eating and water. Too busy to walk at lunch and too frazzled for contentment. Also dh has double-booked himself tonight so cannot sign up for Slimy World as hoped. Hope you are through the protein yuk barrier soon www, and I WILL go next week.
Only 19 days to go for DoNB, how exciting

hello all, hmm, read that post back, that was definitely an 'after a bottle of wine' post not a 'before it'. smile But was v nice wine! Actually I do have a bit of a headache today, but I'm blaming the sunshine not the wine grin.

Sorry you're ill bundle, hope you're feeling better soon. DonB - can't believe it's only 19 days! They'll fly by!

Batters, glad your dd is home ,and www, your ds will be fine! Am dreading the first time ds1 has to go away!

Went to gym last night and had a session with trainer this p.m. which was great (no dizziness or fainting this time thank goodness). Am feeling incredibly motivated not least because I was in a meeting this morning with three sub-thirty women who all looked absolutely gorgeous - strappy dress/tight skirt/floaty number - all very different but oozing youth and confidence. Used it as a mental picture in the gym.

Bundle - sorry to read that your poorly.
Batters - glad to read that you are getting back in the groove.
DofNB - it all sounds idyllic where you are envy
Enid - how are you enjoying the pilates? Are you having one-to-one?
Marina - you must let us know how Slimy World goes.
WWW - DH rather fancies your diet. Have told him he will have to prepare all his own meals. Less keen now.

Off to buy some summerwear this evening. Really not in the mood for this but it is essential.

yes, and I am catty apparently!

Yoyo, omg at the women, I just know I will be surrounded by lithe and peachy 20somethings at work tomorrow, sob.

Bundle, hope you feel better soon.

Ts, hello and envy at wine, I have to do TWO whole weeks without, then I can have some then I have to do another 2 weeks. sob some more

Saggars well done on the running

L&S sorry to discombobulate you! I am a dyed blonde if it helps?

Yoyo, dh and I talked about my diet at lunchtime and neither of us is convinced it will work. <fingers crossed>

ooh www - sorry missed that your ds is going away too. He will have a fabulous time!

lol at being called bitter, too!! Blast about slimy world, Marina . But sensible eating and lots of water are the cornerstones of bootcamp so you are not doing badly.

tshell - ahem, drinking midweek, why was this?

yoyo - I fancy www's diet. Am going to see how she fares on it and if very well will do it for a month or six weeks to kick start my losing weight again.

Hello all.

Well done to all you weight-losers - I am the standard bearer for the weight-gainers amongst us (despite all good intentions).

WWW - why are you catty? What have I missed? Hope the diet is not too ghastly, but it does sound quite lush, although breakfast is the bit I'd worry about as I'd have the inclination but not the time for bacon and eggs.

I have some credibly chic, slim 20 and 30 somethings in my office who have slipped effortlessly into summer clothes mode today envy. I thought f**k it myself today and wore a dress to my knees with no tights - and instantly regretted it when I looked in the full-length mirror at work. I am so useless at summer dressing. But I do tell myself that I have reached that age where I am allowed to be, ahem, flawed and wearing life's excesses on my sleeves (and legs, and stomach etc etc).

Anyway, trying to be positive - and I have to say it's the gym and running that does it for me too.

Am not drinking until at least Friday and later if possible but fear I may need it as I have dd's first (and probably last!) largish organised party this weekend. And some things I have ordered have not arrived yet <twitchy nervous emoticon>.

Never mind, it's nearly Apprentice time!

Just checking in from the sickbay. Congrats on the weightloss. Envious of the India diet. Am in summer clothes hell too.

Looking forward to getting back with you all once the nausea passes. Am 9w today so perhaps only 3-4 weeks of this to go <<hopeful>>. Am reading regularly and enjoy hearing about what you are all up to! Good luck Duchess, can't wait to hear your good news.

Take care and best wishes to everyone XX

bugger, just done a long boring rambling post, and lost the damn thing.

Hello everyone.

- Sunscreen yy
- No booze, even though DH is drinking a bottle of shiraz as I type.
- 2 mile hike
- Lots of water/weak tea
- Apply body cream lax
- Use hand cream lax
- Go to bed early, asleep by 11 last night.
- Eat healthily, ok today, did go out for tea to a carvery with some friends, and had a desert which I wasn't planning on.
- Be happy - was good to meet up with friends, but two days' sun and my ankles are a leetle bit puffy, grrr.

pmsl at Marina's post, after the too repressed to shag bit I read that DS had gone away and "we" had a filthy time, not "he", oops. (Did wonder where DD was...).

Ha, I'm not the only one! I used to think www was a raven-haired, sleek-bobbed woman.

Takes some consolation from the fact that, bar one, all my colleagues are older than me, lol, and none of us glam up for work.

I am, however, in torment over what to wear over summer. Black and deep jewel colours don't cut the mustard really, and I really struggle with tops. aarrgghh.

All going ok bootcamp wise. Still feeling off and crampy so who knows?? (Congrats ChutneyMary by the way!)

Right, will catch up properly later, I need to hide the laptop before ds starts demanding fireman sam again...

Morning all, batters types in a bitter way!

Am feeling good today. It is sunny and it is dd's 10th birthday and we sat down as a family and ate pancakes for breakfast, it doesn't get better than that .

Also went to aqua aerobics last night. Failed miserably at keeping a ball between my knees but apart from that had a lovely time .

Am also a bit stressed at the summer wardrobe thing, though to be frank I can't look worse than last year. unknownrebel - "black and deep jewel colours" are EXACTLY what I am planning to be wearing this summer!! I have at the moment 2 summer skirts I can wear, all the rest have had to be recycled. I have ordered a couple more and have about 5 niceish tops to go with them (all bought within the last few weeks) but apart from that nothing.

yoyo - well done on the gym and moondhine too.

bamamama - ooooooooooh, let us know how it goes!

chutneymary - oh goodness, congratulations .

www - how are you feeling today? I have decided that if you do well on this diet I am going to give it a go for 6 weeks.

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Good to see you whizzing through bama and Chutney and well done on the gym yoyo
Ureb, I am a librarian. I work with librarians. I too am not challenged on the gorgeous foxy colleague front wink
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By bamamama on Thu 08-May-08 11:30:37
I too have a horror of the summer wardrobe which has somewhat been brought to a head by living in Oz! However it is now cold and I bought a big cardy(cardi/cardie???) today which I am extremely pleased about. My response to summer here was an extremely long full black skirt, vest tops and birkenstocks. Not so practical for the office though I suppose.

Happy birthday to Batters dd!

Marina, don't you librarian types finish the day by unleashing and flicking about long locks and suggestively removing glasses?? smile

Also, I too am shocked that www is blonde! I assumed L&S was blonde too but I think I may be wrong there.

Haven't drunk enough water today and have snacked rather a lot however I have walked 18k and run for 30 minutes so I figure that must cancel it out a bit.

Suffering a few aches in the legs after yesterday's gym session. Planning on going tonight but will probably not stay that long. Summer clothes shopping was a hideous experience and I left with a top for the gym and a tee-shirt - I took armfuls of stuff in to try on sad.
Still feeling very determined though and have had a good day so far.

Bamamama - is that 18 k steps? Sounds like you have had an active day.

Batters - yes, we are watching WWW's posts with interest too as I don't know anyone who has followed the I & N diet. Happy birthday to your DD. Pancakes in the morning are very Dom Goddess!

WWW - I pictured you as a brunette too! Have no idea why though. Hope you weren't feeling too yucky today. Regale us with your menu.

Off to collect DC now then must catch up on cleaning. What joy.

Lol at the disapproving/wagging finger posts at catty WWW and bitter Batters. You'll get yourself a reputation, y'know wink.

I reckon Bamamama does mean 18k - I seem to remember you always used to (still do?) an incredible amount of steps in a day (usually my weekly total!).

Batters - share your tops secret please and where you find them. I cannot find any to satisfy my covering tops of arms/stomach/bum and not being madly swirling patterns - some are nice but I've always preferred plain clothes (but love jewel colours!). oh and happy birthday to your dd!

I was very depressed today as I thought my trousers were so tight but by the end of the day had worked out that it was actually my pants! Pants are another thing I can never get right, sigh.

But am feeling fairly happy today. Took the dcs out for an ice-cream and didn't hesitate to have a big chocolately/caramelly one myself. All my party parcels arrived. And I am off work tomorrow so will not have to stress too much over what I have to wear (jeans and old t-shirt) and whether my legs have to be outed again.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By Wickedwaterwitch on Thu 08-May-08 20:35:35
lololol Moonshine at "actually my pants" ha ha ha! Ahem and sympathy, obviously!

Well my natural hair colour is brunette but I've been blonde for about 9 years now. When I;m thinner I may go back to my normal colour to save money on roots every six weeks but am not brave enough to do it yet as I am scared I will hate it and then I'll be fat AND have horrible hair!

Sorry to all of those who have joined me in summer clothes hell. Should we start a "oi, Chubsters, what are you wearing now it's hot?" thread for ideas? I will, let's see if anyone can recommend some tents clothes.

Well I do feel rubbish today but bearable:

multi vitamin
milk thistle
fish oil

3 rashers of bacon and 2 fried eggs
lunch was a cold salmon steak (cooked last night) plus tomato mozzarella and basil salad and half an avocado
some brazil nuts and small piece of cheese for a snack
supper was a steak with a pepper and cream sauce
spinach and watercress salad with olive oil and lemon juice dressing
loads of water
sunscreen
NO COFFEE for TWO DAYS. That's the longest ever. I was going to ignore that part of India and Neris and then decided yesterday that I shouldn't. Eeek, I normally start my day with 3 tsps of coffee and hot water, no milk or sugar, but that's 2 days I haven't now.

Went to bed straight after "You're fired" last night. No booze since Saturday so that's what, 5 days.

Look like shit but dh said tonight, gosh I think you do look a bit thinner. I won't weigh myself until Sat, which is day 7 and when they tell you to. Mind you, they tell you to do it after a poo and there aren;t many of those aboot. (sorry for tmi) Am waiting for my Holland and Barrett delivery of extra vits + physallis husks which are supposed to prevent said poo issue.

I am so so determined to be thinner by October.

batters - aqua-aerobics sounds hysterically funny. Did the ball that was supposed to be between your knees really launch out of the water when you let go? Hahaha!

Hang in there Chutney, the ms will pass soon.

www - I am not reading your food lists because the temptation to cook steaks with creamy sauces at 11pm is too great. grin

Quite a good day for me. I am enjoying the weather because I'm not doing very much. I did have to go on the school run wearing my hideous new flat mules, maternity shorts and a vest t-shirt so less moaning from those who are able to waft about in long floaty skirts if you please! At least the exfoliating/self tanning lotion paid off.

Have eaten cereal; carrots; apples; 2 teacakes; homemade veg soup & bread; baked potato, Cornish Yarg & salad; more fruit and half a large bag of Burts Bacon flavour crisps. Lots and lots of water and apple juice, only 2 coffees.

Body scrubbed & self-tanned. Lots of handcream. Factor 30 today in addition to usual SPF moisturiser. Must flexitol before bed. I'm not sleeping well again but I am at least spending at 8 hours in bed. Happy to be pottering around in the sunshine.

yes, it was 18k yesterday but I haven't been able to do much training for this 10k run on Sunday so have been doing all the walking I can.

Had a huge BLT (with crap bacon in it) and a bigger slice of white chocolate mud cake for lunch so feeling a little bloated now. Ah well.

Good luck for the weigh-in www, you see, you can't hide your natural hair colour on the internet - too many people thought you were a brunette?!

Batters, I'm rather fond of the notion of birthday eve, birthday and birthday boxing-day so that's 3 days of pancakes for your dd right off!

spent £60 in matalan yesterday on some summery clothes for work - also bought a pair of WHITE JEANS which I am wearing today and worrying about.

Looking forward to the weekend. Really wish we were staying in tonight but we have dinner at a friensd house. I will not drink and drive hmmhmm so it will be a bit boring.

cor enid, dd3 in a BED? It doesn't seem that long ago that she was a wee gorgeous baby.

well done www. Have just read your carb thread and your err digestive troubles! Hope it is all sorted now.

I seem to be gaining all the weight you are losing and am now a good 5 kg heavier! I think A LOT of it is due to eating out because of work (and also the drinking that comes with it). I'm also realising that I used to exercise by default during the days before I went back to work - so lots of walking and swimming and just generally moving about. Now, Monday to Friday, I sit at my desk and look out the window at the sunny weather and day dream about being outside. Sigh.

So am on a health kick as from today. No more croissants for breakfast <ponce>, cutting down on lattes and sensible options when I have to eat out!

Skin is v pasty white too so might consider that johnsons stuff if it does the trick.

WWW - wow at 8lbs.

Darling Buds/Cold Comfort lifestyle continued this morning with cows in our garden. We managed to herd them into the paddock where the ponies are which led to 7 bullocks and 2 ponies charging about for half an hour. Farmer has now removed them and is sending his sons to fix our fences.

Good day yesterday apart from an excruciating pile (singular). Am fast depleting the stocks of Germoloid that I bought for post-birth. And on that happy note, I'm off to fill up the paddling pool...!

WWW - 8lbs is brilliant. I'm almost tempted, but if giving up alcohol is worrying enough, the no caffeine rule might prove the real sticking point for me - can you never have caffeine again??

Oliveoil - thanks for recommendation. I think those tops would go well with a couple of skirts I have, but sadly they will not adequately cover the acreage of tum and bum in trousers for me.

Marina - I'm intrigued about the name too - what's it all about??

I had a terrible bootcamp day yesterday but it was great great fun. Far too much booze (I'm sure I'm still over the limit now) but met some nice people out. It was only spoiled by me having a curry when I came home - I really did not enjoy it but still ate more than I should. The good thing is it has confirmed my suspicions that I don't really like heavy curries anymore (apart from Thai ones which are lush).

Today I am preparing for dd's party tomorrow morning so lots of last minute shopping and putting together food boxes and party bags, blowing up balloons etc. At least my period has finally started and the depressed tap has been turned off.

Can I confess that I have never been to Asda (have never lived near one) but would love to go have a look at the clothes. Tod
