(435 messages)
Well done Egg (although think you might have created a "circular reference" with your link ). All well?
Haven't had a chance to read back any further but thought you'd all have popped by now! Hope you're not feeling lonely but more like celebrities - at least you all get your own special thread...... not long to go, honestly. Sending you positive vibes.
All fine here but latest drama is a nasty red oozing pussy case of cradle cap Off to go and have a look around about it.
Circular reference???? I just tried my link and it DARN WELL WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! . I think .
Nearly texted you last night to describe DS2's poo in detail for you but decided to spare you. It was first in 51 hours so quite hard work for both of us.
We are a cradle cap house too. DD is hideously scabby, but on her forehead not her scalp. She also has conjunctivitis again (or still... it never quite went). DS2 is a bit flakey but not too bad yet.
DS2 is exercising his lungs rather loudly, so I am off to make up a couple of bottles. Then I am hoping to get some sleep after the feed, but as they have been asleep all morning apart from when I woke them at 8am, I doubt I will manage.
<<<Egg wanders off muttering "circular link???" to herself>>>
hellloooo gill! nice to hear from you and ty egg for new thread - i think gill was out to mess with our minds with her circular link talk ... it wont work gill - you cant mess these minds up any more than months of preg hormones have already done.
for once, i wasnt asleep... just back from consultants and am booked in for an induction tonight. was a bit freaked as MW had talked about another sweep tomo and had been assuming no induction then til monday, but not so.
SO - was a bit freaked, but now am feeling ok about it. gives me chance to make sure my hair is clean, and have fresh linen on bed for return home etc. also, given that i have never ever had one contraction i figure sod it. also, had probs with my umbilical artery blood pressure in january and have been freaking myself out a bit about my placenta just packing up, so glad to get this ship sailing. hopefully. also, induction means i can just get bus to hospital, so saving £15 on taxi - money i'm putting towards shiatsu this afternoon. really pleased to be able tp get shiatsu sorted.
lol... do you know my favourite girl's name is Patience?? would have been v v appropriate - but was never an option as my surname's Dear and it's a combo that's all too Michael Winner
right. going to psyche myself up thru the cunning use of not lazing around watching telly. do you know when you come out of dr's and realise you didnt ask any questions you should have....?? could do without a night on my own in hospital so big strong labour vibes please. consultant has written in my book that if my trace beforehand is all fine, and if one hit of postulin gets me going then i can still use MLU. that is really the only thing i am worried about. other than a horrid birth. ho hum. sorry to whitter on.... will check in before i go.
ok, you started on this one! Thought id better make it clear i AM STILL here, no nothing as of yet! I am thinking that MAYBE, just MAYBE because it seems to be taking so long, when it DOES start,it might all happen really quick !!!
When DD had some cradle cap, HV and MW told me to use warm olive oil, rub it in to the scalp and then gently pick off the loose bits. I did it for a week and it all cleared up!!! it was great. You have to keep it very soft with the oil though!
oooooooooooooTYACAt this is the start of it all. Glad that you are happy with all the arrangments and that you can get 'prepared' before you go. Oh its going to be a long wait for us to hear any news. Do you have anyones number you can text to let use know!!!?? - like you are going to be thinking of us!! If you havnt you can have mine, i will pass on the news! Anyway enjoy your massage this afternoon, last chance to chill! I am having my haircut tomorrow, thats my bit of pampering before baby comes! ooo how exciting for you
Oooooooooooooh an induction. You will be fine my lovely, and as you say, at least you can go in looking FAB, clean hair et al (unlike me...). So much good luck for tonight, if you CAN take anyone's number to let us know please do, or just make sure you are back on here asap to update us. My email address is on other thread if you want to mail me, although might be nice for Jaysthird to announce it, but she COULD be busy herself!!!
Enjoy the shiatsu.
I tried olive oil but poor DD stank. It smelt kind of rotten within a fairly short time, and I don't want to keep washing it off as that seems to make it worse. If she gets even cooled boiled water on it it goes red and angry looking.
Right, have fed both again but it is not that much fun. Need to find a better position as it killed my back. Plus I think it's a bit sad as I am not even holding them.
So QUICK though . And both took good feeds this time. Hard trying to burp them though.
LOL tyaca seeing your email address reminds me how funny "Patience Dear" would be... VERY Michael Winner .
Wondering whether to tackle bathing both babies at same time now, as both are unsettled and wont sleep, so might as well make the most of their awake time rather than waking them half an hour before a feed to get them bathed.
Lol at Michael Winner comment! Could always go for "Calmdown"?
Egg - you are setting new standards in parenting with you double feeding and bathing ways. Have you turned pro?!
Ds1 still has cradle cap but then again, I have never bothered with the olive oil thing, so by some sort of reverse logic, it must work! Maybe tonight is the night!!!
Sorry- thread crash! Beany- my son had cradle cap until he was about 6. I discovered, once he started school and after 6 years of picking bits of his head off with a fingernail, that a NIT comb works very well on cradle cap as well. Really cleared it all off, without making him bleed.
ooooooooooooooo!!! exciting news Tyaca! hope it all goes well for you friend! love the idea of Patience Dear too!! hope you've got some news for us really soon, and well Jaysthird and Princess..... the race is on!! will pop in later and see how it's going! lolo xx
Ooooh Tyaca - very exciting. You must have left mn by now and be busy washing hair, making bed and having a shiatsu! all sounds far too energetic! ~GOOD LUCK! I went for a 1 1/2 hr walk after pessary and 1 hour monitoring - it really got the ball rolling - so to speak! walking up and down the hospital steps sideways helped to. You will be great!
Well done egg - feeding and bathing 2 babies while linking us to a new thread! You ARE amazing!
LOL at Patience Dear! You really have to be careful what name you choose with your surname! Reminds me of blackadder with Captain Darling!
Radio 4 and building sounds seem to be the perfect lullaby for LO - she has slept all morning! I started stripping old paint this morning begor realising that it was probably lead paint! So stopped for fear of poisoning LO with breast milk laced with lead! - eeek! Painted some shelves instead! - I have to do my bit when LO sleeps to keep up DHs morale - he is really fed up with building!!
Well done feeding 2 babies at once Egg! Let us know how you get on bathing them both - I'm still struggling to bathe one - cannot get used to having a baby again.
Took lo into work this morning to show him off. It was lovely to see everyone - or nearly everyone - silly woman asked how much weight he'd gained and then stood around saying to everyone 'oh he's not put on very much weight has he?' Then in the next breathe said well done for bf - don't people realise that that sort of comment doesn't help your morale when you're bf!! Luckily I'm now immune to that sort of comment but it would have really upset me with ds1 I think. Anyway at 3 weeks he was 5oz heavier than his birth weight and hv said that's fine so I'll listen to her.
Spotty with bald patches. I still think he is a bit "funny looking" sometimes. It's actually compliments all round in our house as ds1 prodded my tummy yesterday and said, "you're fat mummy, you look like Mr Greedy"!! And there was I, so pleased with myself for not needing maternity clothes any more!!
rozzy - YES VERY SPOTTY! - Am too vain to take her into work until the spots calm down a bit! HV said ot could take 3 months! - I hope not!
LO has been an angel all day - same as yesterday - but am wondering (dreading) the 4 hour 'fussy time' (read screamy time) - that seems to occur between 4-8pmish. Last night I was falling asleep at 9pm and she was still crying - luckily DH took her and let me drift into blissful sleep! - She is (so far - thank god) fine at night however.
My 2 other daughter's get home from school and it all goes pear shaped! - not much fun for them!
Didn't manage to bath both as DD went back to sleep so did them one after the other (same bathwater though, I am looking after the environment here...). They both enjoyed the bath, DS2 was v happy the whole time and afterwards, DD cried when I took her out.
Rozzy why on earth do people think they have the right to make such comments? And as long as he is not losing weight and the HV is happy and you are happy and most importantly HE is happy then who gives a stuff?????
Babies have less spots now, just the flakey skin. We are a dandruff family at present.
My tummy is steadily growing. I am doing so little exercise, used to at least walk into town once a day, now I only go twice or three times a week.
Argh crying babies. Time for another dual feed. Must get myself more comfortable this time.
Oh finally, DD has bloody nostrils. She has a bit of a cold, and I have called HV who said that on it's own it is not a worry as long as she seems happy and is feeding and weeing etc (she is) but anyone had any experience of this? She does not have a nosebleed, ie no blood coming out of nose, but insides of both nostrils are all covered in dried blood. I have not even been doing the nasal thing today .
sorry no experience of bloody nostrils - probably to do with her cold?
know what you mean about tummy - mine is growing too. I look just like mr greedy! don't mind except would like to look vaguely attractive for DH since he has been so patient and undemanding for so long! feel like walking milk bottles - not a sex object - poor DH.
Gotta go take DD2 to dance class - LO hates the drive - oh well. - it's been such a lovely peaceful day - until now!
Omy - DS2 was spotty too and it took a loooong time to clear up. Does anyone know what causes it - I had always thought it was hormones but people keep saying to me that it's because babies sweat - was getting paranoid that I was keeping lo too hot? Feel for you omy on the fussy period. My lo is like that in the evenings but feeding does quieten him down luckily - so I have him attached to my nipples for most of the evening - means all I can do is watch tv and eat chocolate which is so unfortunate . Is taking me longer to lose the weight this time - wonder why.
just a quickie... have emailed you my number Tyaca, make sure you keep us informed! Had a bit of sleep this afternoon, was knackered from a 5 oclock start this morning!
Will catch up in a bit, dinner time for the sprogglets!
Yep we give up on being able to actually hear any tv progs between about 7:30 and 10pm. Sometimes it is not so bad. Good thing is that this is DH's shift .
rozzy - I wish I could keep her attached to my nipple! She screams and pulls off - she screams as if in real pain - it's awful to see her like that. Her tummy seems really distended to me - but maybe all baby tummies are huge?
I just got in the bath with her to see if she would stop screaming and she did! she really seemed to enjoy floating around - but then when I got her out the screaming started again. DH has calmed now her with a dummy which she is holding onto for dear life!
oohh lets hope Tyaca is doing ok and baby is safely on her way, jay send her our love if you get any news xxx
So i'm not the only one with a fussy baby from 5 till 8
Are'nt men great big fat shitty drama queens..before Dp had Ds2 upstairs on his knee i'm downstairs with Ds1 and i heard " oh no get up here now i need help its everywhere" so i'm thinking great he's only just had a bath and chundered everywhere, so i get upstairs and all he's done is brought a good mouthfull of milk up on his bib!! well my face must of been a picture, i told him where the clean flannels were and to clean it up, as if i haven't got enough to do
Don't know much about it omy but could it be reflux or something else which your hv could advise on? Poor thing - my lo is not in pain or anything - just stocking up for the night I think. I think he's actually down for the night so I'm off to watch a little bit of telly and then have an early night.
Heres hoping for a good nights sleep for everyone - except for those of you still pregnant of course - hope cx keep you awake!!
no news as yet, last email was 6ish, not sure what time Tyaca was going in. Will keep you informed, as i am!
And to add to that, nothing much going on here either, lots of big movements, like he/she wants to get out, but nothing to suggest thats likely to happen!!
Week today and counting till crappy induction
Omy i am not a doctor by any means, but that sounds just like my DS, he would do the same thing, and i would end up feeding him five mins a time for EVER! I got so distressed with it , i think he picked up on it and made it worse. Turned out he did have reflux and i had numerous appts with the specialist and he was on meds till about 8 months old. Have to say i ended up TELLING my GP what the matter was! Ask your Doctor and HV if they can advise you and keep a log of when he feeds and for how long. First port of call is infant gaviscon. hassle if you are BF but i did manage it for a bit. Sad to say i only ended up BF for about 3 mths, it just got too much in the end! Dont want to be negative, just sharing my experience!!
Ooooo hopefully we'll hear something fromo tyaca soon - happy thoughts being sent her way!!
Just had anightmare night with ds2, he just would not settle from the minute we put him down at 7.30pm till about 6ish am. He just kept waking up every hour or so either for a feed or cause his tummy hurt/needed a poo!!! Gonna start trying massage on his tummy with warm flannel/olive oil at every change time to try and get things moving as I'm wondering if that's his issue more than reflux. He's just not being that sick. Ds1 used to puke up gallons at a time!! Amd he's not unsettled every night sigh, I don't know!!!
On a more positive note, did bath time on my own last night with both boys and they were absolutely superb. Ds2 seems to love having baths - ds1 always screamed so at least we're doing someting right!!!!
Have organised my baby wetting as well (I did the work so why not!!!) and I can't wait. Just got to find something half decent to squeeze myself into now
On the creadle cap - ds1 had this for a couple of years, we used to do the olive oil thing but also used dentinox and that was really good - not sure how early you can use it though.
Omy - we are having similar problems at the moment although not all the time. Ds2 seems to get quite built up and then screams and arches his back or draws his legs up and really squirms. Sometimes it's trapped wind and sometimes it's cause he's trying to have a poo. That's what we had all last night. We use a dummy cause they are looking for comfort and also the sucking sometimes helps relive the pressure. The more they feed the more built up they can get which is why the dummy is recommended. It's also more at night than day as the wind tends to build up during the day and then at night they're sposed to spend all night on their back. Quite often we pick ds2 up, rub his back and a huge burp comes up or once he's done a huge poo, he passes out!! We've tried infacol but that just made him really sick, and gripe water works now and again. The warmth of a bath seems to soothe which is why we're going to try the warm massage. I also find that by keeping ds2 upright for 10-15 mins after a winding helps, I usually just have him on my chest and that seems to cut a lot of the sickiness down. Cycling his legs helps relieve his tummy a bit and also rubbing the left hand side of his tummy in a backward c - apparantly helps the colon get moving!! It is really distressing to hear them screaming. Hope you're ok.
i second all that countTo10 wrote, i did that with DS also, it did help, and if nothing else it makes you feel better about doing something constructive to help the wee thing!
Well done You (cTo10) on the bathing of the babes! Its a tough job on your own, but once you have done it once , it will become par for the course!
No news from Tyaca yet, guess shes either in awe of the LO, shes forgotten about us or shes still in labor? time will tell!
Anyway, i've had a show, i've had a show, i've had a show, and like i just posted on a nother thread, dont anyone dare tell me i could be days yet....let me just bask in this exciting news for a bit!!! Didn't have shows with first two, so wasnt really looking for one, but this morning there it was, winking at me lol!! having a mild contractions and period pains also, am praying this is the start!!
On a sadder note - for me anyway, took DS to nursery for the first time this morning, hes had a cpl of trials but today is his first full day. He seemed ok, but then i made the mistake of glancing in the window before i left, he saw me and didnt know whether to smile at me or drop his bottom lip....oh god the guilt, i very nearly had to go in to him, but managed to hold back. I know he will be fine, but hes so much more clingy than his Big sis, who has never cried when i leave her - ANYWHERE! Anyway i got to the car and had a weep!! and i dont normally do that! Will call them in a bit to see if alls well.
Oh Jaysthird!!! Firstly yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee a show, a show, a show!!!! Things are finally on the move!!!
Secondly, I totally feel for you re the nursery thing. I remember the first time I took ds1 and he was fine and I still blubbed when i got to the car!! He'll love it and they need that time away. Especially once the baby comes as it will be something that's totally his and not about baby which could be coming very soon!!!!!!
countto10 don't forget reflux can be silent as well as the projectile kind. lo had silent reflux-they do alot of choking/gagging but rarely stuff actually comes up-just something to keep in the back of your mind-took forever for the drs to believe me because of the lack of vomit.
Hey ladies, just time to catch up before next feed.
Egg- thanks for setting up new thread! On subject of poss epilepsy, ds actually jerks his hands and legs inwards, it is quite marked and only happens when he is asleep (epilepsy can happen awake or asleep).
The consultant rang yesterday, having managed to open the video clip, and said he was surprised at how bad jeking is. he has referred it to an epilepsy specialist but they are still working on Sleep Myoclonia but brain wave trace will help confirm this. He still wouldn't rule out epilepsy but said not to worry (How can you not!?). If it epilepsy, the kind that it would most likely be be be would probably not be treated at this stage as the treatment can inhibit brain development. Am trying not to think about it too much. Waiting for brain trace and have appt with consultant in april. He did say that usually babies with epilepsy seem unwell or have other problems and as ds is 'thriving' that makes them lean towards the less worrying diagnosis. My 'thriving' son now weighs 13 and 1/2 pounds, god know what he would have been if he had gone full term!
Any news on tyaca- how exciting!
Jay - can't beleive you're still hanging on! Sending labour vibes your way!
Colicy tummy - try laying lo on their front over your knees or a cushion and rub their back - ds loves this and it seems to help when he gets tummy pains.
Oh and cradle cap - bad news - dd1 had cardle cap and i never found anything that really helped - she still has it now - though i guess it's not called cradle cap when you're nearly 20! She gets something from docs but probably not suitable for babies.
Jaysthird - congrats on the show!! I had a show within 24 hrs of birth!!! won't be long for you now!!
Sending goodluck and strong labour vibes to all ladies in waiting (Lurkers and posters alike!!)
Life with a new baby is wierd - not sure what I expected it to be like mind you!! (except for tiring of course!)
Breastfeeding is going well - had a few issues to start with, but all now seems okay...... Well Seren is feeding really well, sleeping for long stretches at a time and only lost 3oz of her birth weight in the first 5 days - she has not been weiged since as both the midwife and Health Visitor took one look at her and decided there was no real need!! - I told them I've got gold top in these bazookers!!
I will get her weighed next visit though as I am interested to know how fast she is growing.
I am having probs getting all her wind up - and she will scream like a Banshea (sp?) when it is time for a nappy change or a bath!! she hates having her clothes off!!!
Serens "happy hour" seems to be from midnight till 3am, when she will NOT be put down..... it's a bit annoying as she is sooo good at other times of the day!
Fabulous news from Tyaca, congrats on the safe arrival of lovely Esther . Jays you can go for it now, your LO was just holding on so you could let us know, and now it is your turn!
Both babies crying, must feed, back later.
<<<Egg runs to make bottles so that she can actually hear the end of Escape to the Country without having to listen to screams>>>
Am off to parents shortly, they only live a short distance but they are going away for weekend so we are dog and cat sitting (we can't have their pets here on account of our menagery). Not sure how ds will take to new environmnet for weekend but we shall see! Probably wont get chance to get to a computer over the next couple of days so goodluck to jay and princess! I expect babies by monday please! Hope everyone has a peaceful weekend.
ginger thanks for info on your DS, mine is definitely juddering not jerking and he usually does one leg or one arm... I think it is nothing to worry about. Think he has given himself a hernia tho with all the pushing of the poo, he now has a very outy belly button and it is a bit see thru. So many things to get checked next week when we see doc.
Hi carey how are you doing? I was on your thread the other day. Hope those waters are staying intact, Jay and princess would go mad if you get there before them!
Jay try not to worry about nursery. He will be fine. My DS1 started last Sept. We moved house a week before. He cried a bit, and he cried every time I left him for a week or two (he was doing 2 mornings a week) but they said he was always happy within a few mins of me going and he was always happy when I arrived back (even before he saw me). He loves it now and does two full days a week from 9ish to 5ish.
Really have to get him out of bed, he has been asleep since 1pm .
Bovril good to hear from you and glad bf is going well and Seren is getting bigger! I think banshee is with two ee's but not sure!!!!
Congrats to tyaca - fantastic news - I was worried we wouldn't hear anything if jay went into labour too but feel free to have your baby now jay. I had all 3 of my babies within 36 hours of show.
DS1 just puked on his Blankie . Thankfully I think it was just a pukey burp as only a teeny amount, and he came running over saying "sick babbie sick". Blankie is in washing machine on quick wash so will be clean in time for bed [phew emoticon].
Oh I never really had a show with either pg, but did get bleeding, and both times was giving birth within 3hrs of bleeding. Never lost a mucus plug though, and have always been curious to know what one looks like .
Just changed one thing on list (lovemymum was still on top list as well as hatched). Also added in mini's DTs names (hope I have remembered them right and spelt right...)
still here. achey pains did seem to be getting more so but now eased off. rats! egg glad you have a quick wash facility Major congratulations to tyaca, you did it! looking forward to hearing about it. well done and good name jaysthird, i'm now more worried i'll be last but at the same time i don't want you to be miserable being last either-let's hope we go into labour together. could do with another creme egg-is this a sign???
Oh well done tyaca - i nearly cried. how gorgeous. hope the birth was not too ghastly. did you get the bus to the hospital in the end. that's what we did - the bus driver nodded to the bump and i thought, 'well, he's really coming now'. congrats!!!!!!!!!!
Princess, what is it with our babies, we have made it too comfy for them! On off niggles, same old same old. Feel like a fraud when i say things are happening then they stop!
A joint labor, that would be funny! Princess, i am 'into' extra strong mints at the moment - i HAVE to have at least four in a row and i HAVE to crunch them....same as ice, i can have a whole glass and crunch my way through it!! - thats not to say i dont eat my fair share of chocolate too though!
Raspberry thats encouraging to know you went into labor 36hrs after the show. I know shows can go on for weeks, but when your so overdue, surely a show means something more than that!!
Jay great news that you've had a show, and princess aches and pains please keep us up to date, have either of you given much thought to title of our new post natal thread? now that its down to you two
Jaysthird - I didn't go into labour 36 hours after show - I had my babies within that time. DS1 was born around 20 hours after bleeding, DS2 was around 36 hours and DS3 was around 18 hours. I've got my fingers crossed for you. My third labour was pretty quick after 2 straightforward but not quick labours so hopefully your third will be quick too.
oooooooooooo! Congratulations to Tyaca!! well done, petal!!! lol at the "ouch" comment too..... i remember my mum telling me having a baby was "a bit nippy!" Jaysthird i had a show with dd1, and went into labour 14 hours later, so imagine it will all happen for you soon! Princess fingers crossed for you too, and yeah, babies by Monday please from both of you would be lovely! Well the infacol stuff seems to be working well for us, Alex is lke a different baby, and i've stopped being so miserable and have lost that feeling of dread as we get towards feeding time. For the last day or so she's managed to guzzle a 5oz bottle in about 15-20 mins, and then burp like a Boddingtons drinker before passing out knackered, perfect behaviour for someone nearly 4 weeks old! Huge sympathy to those still suffering, though, it's that horrible painful cry they do that just goes through you.... and very difficult to know what to do! One of the girls on the Jan post natal thread swears by Colief, and i also think there's a homeopathic thing too that might be worth trying? Have to say i'm also a fan of laying them on their tummy for a bit of a back rub..... added bonus that you sometimes get a big fart that way too....! Anyway, had to go and buy a new washing machine today, old one now worse than useless!! took both kids into Curries with us, manager felt so sorry for us with broken washing machine he gave us a really good deal on delivery, and they'll even take the old one away on Monday when they drop off shiney new thing!! How sad am i to be excited by a new washing machine?? Show's how your world shrinks a bit, doesn't it!? Also made appointment at docs for monday to get new prescription for the pill, dh waiting on appointment for a snip, but we're terrified of having "a wee accident" in the meantime. Egg much as i admire you i can't imagine even more mayhem than we have right now and 3 under 3 would just be a bloody nightmare!!! i'm more than happy with my 2 beautiful dds and my lovely dsd... adn dh reckons 3 daughters is expensive enough for anyone! Can you imagine the boyfriends we'll have to meet over the years? hee hee! Anyway, didn't intend this to be such a long rant, hope everyone has a nice quiet night (except Jaysthird and Princess.... get contracting!!!!) lolo xx
<wanders in, bleary eyed>...hi guys, what's been happening? More babies, great! Congrats to Tyaca, and hope you others have your babes soon.
Can't believe DS4 is 4 weeks old today, he's growing up too quickly! Even though his feeding technique isn't the best - takes in lots of air - he's putting on weight, over 9lb now from 8lb birthweight, and is getting a bit big for some of his clothes, although that may be partly down to his cloth nappies, he's in a disposable right now and he has no bum! And disps smell weird/horrible....Who was talking about cloth nappies? I'm using Diddy diapers which I'm not that keen on, and Sandys which I do like, and Fuzzibunz for going out/nighttime.
No cradle cap or spots here, but then he hasn't had a bath yet!
Gotta go, DH decided to go to work today, even though next weekend he will also be away (skiing) He obviously thinks I'm coping so well that I don't need him around...
Nothing, nothing nothing....have decided to just lurk for a bit, i feel a right fraudster reporting 'something' then having to report 'nothing' it must be boring for you also!
I will keep my eye out for Princess and her 'news' and will let you know when something more definate happens....!!
Hope you all have a great day and a lovely weekend
jay you have to keep popping on to report nothing until something does happen or we will all worry when you are gone that you have been gone too long (if that makes sense...).
Feeling satisfied as have finally received CTF vouchers from government so have got all forms filled in and signed and set up direct debits etc etc all ready to post now. Am using Family Investments as we used them last time with DS1 and we can't be bothered to do more research.
How is everyone today? We had a good night last night. I went to bed LATE at 10pm but thankfully then got to stay in bed til 4am. Managed to get them both fed and back in bed by 5pm (did not tandem as DD still asleep when I started feeding DS2), and then got to stay in bed til 7am when DS1 woke up. Couldn't get back to sleep though til nearly 6am but hey, that's still SEVEN HOURSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Babies had a feed at 8:10am and have been asleep ever since. I think perhaps I ought to wake them if I want a good night tonight but it is so peaceful, esp as DH has taken DS1 out into town.
I managed to fix the buggy board to the Powertwin earlier, was so impressed as it actually works and with the extenders goes far enough back for him to be able to stand up. He was so excited since last night when we took it out of the box and kept trying to stand on it before I was done. Got it all finished and he stood on it while I wheeled the buggy plus board about a foot forward and he said "no no" and leapt off. Great. I think perhaps I will have to tell him he is not allowed to go on there and then he will want to . I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO ALWAYS CARRY ONE BABY IN A SLING EVERY TIME WE ALL LEAVE THE HOUSE.
Just sipping a nice cup of tea and eating more chocolate. Yesterday's food intake was APPALLING for me.
Chocolate and coffee for breakfast. Mcdonalds for lunch. Various biscuits and chocolate during afternoon. Pizza and salad (with lots of dressing) for supper.
We too have a buggy board and Ds1 loves it, i don't know about you but when i'm pushing it i feel like my arse is stuck right out (like i need more attention drawing to it!!)
I am really trying to eat more healthily i have now lost 17lbs but really need to loose another good stone to get back to pre-pregnancy weight
I know there's no rush and everyone says "it took 9 months to make a baby so give yourself 9 months to loose it" but i dont feel comfortable being this size and have allways been a size 10/12 and have nothing nice to wear and i refuse to buy a load of size 14 stuff..right there's my moan for the day over with
Jay how are you feeling today, are you still on knicker watch
And princess you get eating them cream eggs while you can
I have a feeling you two will go at the same time, preferably tomorrow???
Tyaca hope you and baby are settling in ok and all loved up xxx
still here. sounds so positive that you all went into labour so soon after a show, but mine was more than 54 hours ago and nothing...thought it was kicking off last night with some more achey pain then nothing. boring
Princess am i right in thinking that you are now 10 days over...get your daughter in the pushchair get well wrapped up and go for a brisk walk, it worked for me, a few hours later i had Ds2 xxx
Hmm, I have a friend who had a show a whole MONTH before she gave birth . At least that wont happen to either of you tho!
leesmum, I know what you mean about the bum sticking out, have not taken buggy board out of house yet, but can see the position I will need to be in if I don't want to knock DS1 off it as soon as we move.
Does anyone watch Hollyoaks? Does anyone watch Hollyoaks AND have a DC who likes Barnaby Bear on CBeebies? I was horrified / aghast / dumbstruck to see sweet little Becky from Barnaby Bear, who is about 8 years old and such a "nice" girl, all dressed up with goth-style make-up and clothing, planning to shag her boyfriend in a graveyard in Hollyoaks (ok, she is no longer 8 but still seems wrong).
well done tyaca, esther is a lovely name. all the girls are coming now aren't they. come on princess and jaysthird, we are all rooting for you. maybe hurricane helga will get you moving
DS and DD and i have been shopping today with my mum we had a great time,
bought loads of stuff to make DS his easter bonnet for nursery- was going tobe a bumble bee but ds told me he needs to be Humpty Dumpty! OMG so we are attempting to make humpty dumpty!!! could be interesting!!!(have seen some on ebay so its poss) will put pic on when were done if its not to bad!!!lol
I cannot believe DD is 4 weeks and 3 days old already- where has the time gone, it onlyu seems like yesterday i was on here moaning about still being pregers!!!
leesmum i should have gone for a massive walk, you're right. today was the first day that i felt too tired and didn't even go out of the house once. i don't think i could bare to name the baby helga. i have noticed that they advised people not to make unecessary journeys tomorrow night because of the weather, so maybe with sod's law it will happen then. egg i almost fell off the sofa -1 month . v funny about the girl in hollyoaks. does anyone know how long a 'show' can go on for? seems to keep going? bit puzzled.
evening all. many thanks for all the lovely words of congrats. princess and jaysthird, i am thinking of you and forwarding you the remains of my labour vibes. it will be over v v soon. lol princess @ "unecessary journeys" - home birth??
all ok here. discharged this afternoon. still a bit overwhelmed post-birth and kept in extra night didnt help - no sleep. v good to be back home and with the marvelous mr tyaca.
esther is v small and v ginger (i got my wish mitfordsis!) even tho she almost 7lb, all the nb clothes swamp her and she looks like she's just dressing up and playing at being a real person. will post some pics when i get a mo. got home just now to find that my sis and parents had been round while DH collecting me from hospital. knew they were coming but didnt expect to find immaculate house, clean windows, brand new bed linen, homemade stew in a packed fridge and even a ham (my mum has written out a recipe for DH on how to cook it!)... bless em.
will post pics soon. ty again to jay for annoucing to everyone. look forward to catching up on all news - confess i now have the heart to read about everyone's little ones - it had been fading a bit as i got more and more overdue
Welcome back Tyaca! It was all my pleasure to spread the news of your new addition. Perhaps - if you have time you might want to do it for me?!
Am glad that you are at home now, theres nothing worse than being somewhere where you cant relax or sleep. Try and take some time to adjust to your new baby, and dont forget to take a bit of time for yourself too!
Good on your family for the homewelcoming!
Hope everyone else is ok, Thinking of you princess!
Tyaca glad you are safely home and you got your little ginger bundle of joy! Can't wait to see pics of little Esther. V impressed with clean house and stew etc and also very .
Had a bad start to the day, blazing row with DH over his inability to hear that all 3 children were crying at 6:45am and I was struggling to sort them out while he lay in bed (again). Better now tho.
Off to offer advice to lady who has just found out she is having twins and she has an 18 month old already - I feel USEFUL!
Tyaca its great to hear from you and just great that you and esther are home safely xx Don't worry about her being small, she'll soon chunk up honest xx
Jay and princess any more developments with you two? And we are in for some bad weather tonight, just in time for two new babies
Who is having your Dc's for you both?
Ds2 slept from 8 till 1.30am last night!! Maybe it was the near-on continuous feeding for several hours at tea time
Just popped on to put a couple of photo's on of baby Seren. she's so cute (I'm obviously biased tho'!!) Off to visit the inlaws now, will check in later to see if any more babies have arrived!!
You might be biased but you're not wrong! She is very pretty! You are not exactly ugly yourself tho so not surprising. Love the top pic where I think she is in daddy's arms.
Tis indeed quiet here today. I guess everyone is having family days. I am very very very tired. Not had opportunity for sleep. DTs not slept much today, unlike normally when they sleep too much. Maybe it means we will have a great night. Maybe not . At least it is Monday tomorrow, and in four Monday's time I will be taking ALL THREE DCs to nursery for the day. Wooohoooo. Then I will go WILD all day (or probably sleep).
Well done Tyaca - congratulations! And all the best Jay and Princess...I'm finding it so hard to believe that we still have some pregnant ladies...it must be so frustrating so I hope that those contractions start soon!
We have had a terrible time...Daniel was admitted to hospital last Friday with a temperature and inconsolable and was diagnosed as having strep b
