Blinded by headache all day. Relief is the first item of business on my list for doctor's visit this Friday.

Baby is totally cramped in it's space. Head pokes me here. Foot pokes me there. This is only 16+3. shock

DD is a different child today. She's only had two doses of antibiotic but WOW!! I'm impressed. She even slept through the ENTIRE night. AND best of all, she hasn't YELLED at me once all day. smile

Rowena is nice but DH vetoed it. Have pen and paper in hand so will be brain storming the rest of the week. Ella is what I thought of this morning.hmm

I think the last everyone was discussing maternity clothes at the end of the last thread.....I meant ask, what are maternity socks?

ts - thank you, hadn't got round to it as dd2 decided to launch herself off top of toy pram and smash her face on wooden floor - needless to say bubba gump bottom lip and lots of blood later so was a tad preoccupied!!

am glad to head DD is on the mend.

Ella is a beautiful name although as am slightly biased being as thats dd1's name! what is your dd called so we can help with the suggestions!

hope they can give you some relief for your headache, lovely that owenetta is cramped in, mine has a whole lot of room for manouver grinblush

OUCH Dizzy. My DD did a flash plant recently. She grew a "SHREK BUMP" grin (that's what she called it). Thought she'd learned her lesson....NOOOOO. A few hours later I found her doing the same thing that caused the bump in the first place.

WHT the H$&& is a flash plant???angry I meant a face plant but obviously my fingers had a different plan.

Nice thread title hmm. We ladies have far too much chatting to do instead of wasting time thinking up witty thread titles....hmm

I have absolutely no idea what sex this baby is! My inital thoughts that it may be a boy are no longer so certain. With ds I just knew he was a boy and we had it confirmed at 20week scan. Before that I kept dreaming I was holding him, and that he was a boy. This one, I just do not know!!

Talking of jeans I might buy these as the waist band isn't too huge and maternity like.

TS dd2 is a farking nightmare for her face, its always covered in bruises, scratches etc she already only has half of one of her front teeth from launching herself off a chair and goodness knows what this latest 'swan' dive has done to them - am dreading looking in the morning!

ARGHHHHH a name, that's what I'm suppose to be researching. Thanks for reminding me Dizzy. Ella, for me, is a blend of Eleanor (DH's mom) and Claudia (my mom). I'm still fond of Emory Kate. Sadie is a new idea. Oh why is naming a child so hard.

Here, try this....

The Bathtub Test

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

'Well,' said the Director, 'we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.'

'Oh, I understand,' said the visitor. 'A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.'

'No' said the Director, 'A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?'

Dear Captain I am tired 24/7 with occasional burst of energy (enough to clean the kitchen countertop or do a load of laundry...but not fold it.) Weight? I think I am. I "think" I'd only gained 2 pounds by 12 weeks but I'm up to 7 pounds gained as of yesterday...five pounds in four weeks, is that good or bad?

ROFL CC

TS thats a nice thought, our Ella is actually Isabella after my great aunt, mum mn, cousin's mn and other aunt - we like to keep it in the family! In saying that there are no 'Ellas' so she is the first - if you ask her what her name is it is very definately Ella and not Isabella but its all we've ever called her so how would she know any different?

I daren't bloody weigh myself! Normally am 9 stone but feel the scales are going to be tipping towards the 'fat knacker' end of the scale....hmmm, we don't have scales at home so no idea what my weight is currently. Am guessing I've put on around 8lbs so far (although that may be a very conservative estimate!)

a) I've just put lovely fresh bed linen on (the bed)
b) dh is away tonight so have ALL the bed to myself
c) I'm bloody knackered!

see you tomorrow! grin

yeah but their sizes are off for me....I really have to try them on before purchasing. None of my local Gaps or Old Navy's carry maternity though. If I travel to Atlanta or Knoxville I can try and find the right size. I'm a nightmare to shop for sad!!

Eeek! I don't manage to get on the computer for 2 days and there are 8 pages of posts on the old thread and a new thread with 2 pages!!! That'll teach me to stay in touch! Hope everyone is doing well and feeling good.

Nothing new here, just patiently waiting for my m/w appt on Thursday for my blood tests - I'm hoping I get to hear my lo's heartbeat too! Do they do that as routine or only if they remember??
What you were saying about names earlier TS and Dizzy, we're thinking of Gabriella for a girl and I liked the idea of her being an Ella, or a Gabby, but we'll see how it goes as DH is convinced we're having a boy! We have Cole for our boy's name, can't really seem to find any others that we like. I think I can feel the baby moving around, have had the 'movements' for about 3wks now and it's not a feeling I've had before, so my conclusion is baby, not wind!

Wow, knackered after my read-athon now, so off to bed. Will definitely check back in tomorrow though!! xx

Hmmmm Jonny Knoxville <swoons> grin.
DH dreamt our baby was a girl last night so I am flummoxed now, having dreamt it was a boy myself. Chinese Gender Predictor says girl.
Was v chuffed to find I was only just over 11st at last week's MW appt. I don't have scales at home and at 12wks I had guessed I was about 11st (my healthy but comfy weight, could be skinnier but too much effort.) Guess I must have lost quite a bit over Christmas with the vomiting bug to begin with. It's always easier to see the silver lining after the rainstorm isn't it?smile

Goodness me. I go out shopping for one day and you all get very chatty!!

I went maternity clothes shopping. Here's my list:
Jeans with big panel (but ever so ever so ever so comfy) from blooming marvellous
Dark grey almost like trackie bottoms from mothercare. Maybe too casual? but see below for my problem with buying trousers.
2 tops for now (ie longer sleeves) from Hennes
pack of 3 t-shirts from Next
2 summery nicer tops from M and S
and 2 packs of size bigger knickers <ah comfort>.

Liking those Next Jeans someone linked earlier.... they didn't have those in the next I went in. My problem is that I am 5ft2 so need short legged stuff. And maternity wear is mainly standard or long length. grr.

Okay v blush question now. blush blush. re feeling <whispers> wet <tiny voice> down there. I keept thinking I'm feeling really damp. it may be a throw back from worrying I was going to be bleeding, but I'm not sure. I seem to have a fair amount of cm, but when i check, my panty liner isn't as wet as i think it is. Is it paranoia?? I have read a few things about ppl leaking amniotic fluid and am just panicking that that is what I'm doing. But surely I'd know if it was that. HELP!

btw - nah nah na nah nah i had 2 KK donut yest. I popped my KK cherry at last. they were deeeelicious. mmmmmm.

All caught up in politics this morning. It's better than any tv drama right now. Go Hillary!!!

Alittlebitshy...moisture...I have the same sensation every now and then too. I'm a card holding knicker-checker due to my MC so I don't worry about the worrying. I think it's just par for the course.

Helloooo ladies, and may I say congrats to Dizzy for an obviously wild night!

LittleBitShy, you might just be leaking wee like me...

Re maternity clothes shopping - Vintage Gardenia you really made me laugh about Formes. The exact same thing happened to me last week except very large assistant glanced at me from behind counter when I walked in and then went back to reading mag as I am so obviously not the same, ahem, frame as the yummy Surrey mummies she is used to dealing with!

We have Gap Maternity here and had high hopes for jeans but tried them on and the seam where the denim meets the stretchy panel was a good couple of inches higher than it should have been, cutting bump in half and creating another spare tyre. Nice.

Had a very exciting morning as a researcher from Jezza Vine's show called and asked if I wanted to be one of their Budget commentators next week, as a sample small business owner (I help businesses write marketing stuff, and also run The Mother Mentor, a life coaching service for new mums)!! I was on a few months ago talking about panic attacks and they had kept my details. V cool, except now need to start paying attention to Budget coverage and form an actual opinion hmm

OK, must get on with work. Uh-oh. Have been on MN for an hour and now time to pick up DD from nursery. Balls.

Have a lovely afternoon everyone xxx

Ooh, I love Jeremy Vine (used to listen to Jimmy Young in the car during lunchbreaks aged 22!) Will make sure I tune in next week.
Re CM, I get the occasional gush out of the blue! The other night I was sat in bed (reading v dull article I'll have you know), got up and felt wet - quick wipe with my nightie blush and got quite a shock! Used about half a bogroll! Reminded me that in around 5months time we will ALL become knickercheckers, obsessed with 'signs' like mucus plugs, shows, endless wees ('was it amniotic fluid?'), diarrhoea etc.

TS I'm guessing your normal UK size is about a 10 - so if you like, I could order you a pair and ship them over to you? Happy to do that, if you can work out how to pay me?? The jeans are £20 and the postage will be about £5 I guess. Let me know. I plan to order some for myself anyway!!

Girls, you MUST start doing your pelvic floor exercises NOW!! Squeeze and hold for about 10 seconds, then repeat 10 times. Do it as often as you remember. Don't do it whilst you're weeing though (unless you want to check just how good your pelvic floor is). Also do some 'quick' exercises where you squeeze then let go straight away. Repeat x 10. If you don't you will smell of wee, forever grin

Hullo all, just back from a lovely, lovely holiday in the sun and it is great to catch up with you here! I've been buying maternity wear too - I have the same problem as alittlebitshy, I need shorter-than-standard trousers and they're really hard to find. I've got a lovely pair of jeans from Mamas and Papas but I can't find any that are suitable for work anywhere. Any ideas??? At the moment I'm struggling on with my normal clothes held together with safety pins and hairbands but I don't think that will be viable very much longer!

hmmThat's a nice idea Captain. Will shift local jean search into high gear first. Surely I can find one pair. I could kick myself for giving away that "ONE" good pair from my last pregnancy....and I only did it a few months ago. I didn't get pregnant until all the baby stuff and maternity stuff was gone, interesting huh.

Hey all, just checking in. Thank god the drought is over for you Dizzy grin

Exhausting day...busy busy. GP phoned me this morning to discuss migraine pain relief. Apparently I can take a codeine/paracetamol combo in pregnancy so I've got a prescription for that. Just waiting for my pg exemption card so I can pick it up for free! Now wondering why I was only given paracetamol after 24 h labour/forceps/stitches when codeine was an option hmm

I'm getting little kicks while I type this smile

There's so much negative chatter about CSs that the physical/medical reasons get forgotten about, Sazzles. It bugs me when people who have CS are labelled too posh to push without knowing any of their history. For so many people they don't have a choice.

Dizzy - If you don't mind me asking, which way round?? VB then CS or vice versa? I am a bit worried about a VBAC as my body has experienced no labour at all (not even a Braxton Hicks contraction!) so would be like first birth with added pressure on scar etc. Just interested to hear your experience. I'm not making a decision until 36 weeks (definitely not really think about it until after 20 incase of low lying/attachment issues with placenta).
I had such a lovely CS experience last time (weird i know but true) that i am veering towards going with 'what i know', fully aware that of course this experience is likely to be very diff (diff preg, diff baby).
Sorry for the waffle - past my bed time smile
