hey haylz, im having scans and blood tests so im not sure.its only for the first round of clomid though and then i go it alone after that. As far as i can tell the scans are just to check they arent over stimulating your ovaries and so they can see if your follicles are growing as they should.
hope this helps,
praying for you to

not read the whole thread - but I was on clomid for 3 months after trying for 4 years, ds1 came along after the 3 months, then conceived ds2 12 months later, and dd another 12 months after that. It reset me beautifully. Good luck

Hello Everyone

A quick question........ I'm in the midlle of 2ww but have a raging headache and am stuck at work so can't sleep it off, do you think it would be ok to take paracetamol, am on first round of clomid if that makes any difference.

I feel like my head may explode smile

hi hopefulstar, i had my scan today to and the woman said it need to get to 20mm to ovulate. i had one at 14mm and one at 19mm so was told hopefully it should be in next 48hrs. i did opk yesterday and today and neither has shown even the faintest of lines. i know how you feel but i think im going to try and believe the scan than the opk. hope this helps

Hi everyone,
Not been on here for a while. Had my first round of clomid this month and went for a scan on Tuesday. The nurse said there was one follicle that was 15mm and she thought I would ovulate on Thursday or Friday. She told me to use the predictor tests.
Anyway, there has been no LH surge for me so I guess I have not ovulated. Does anyone know what size the follicle needs to get to and if I could still ovulate in a couple of days or have I just missed it?
This whole process is doing my head in. Feel as if my heart has been ripped out every time I do the test..I am a million miles away from pregnancy...the chance to ovulate would be a massive step!
Good luck to you all

Hello eveyone

I have only posted on here once before when I started my clomid at the beginning of this cycle. Being the first time I have ever taken it I didn't know what to expect but so far so good. I went for my tv scan yesterday and nurse said I had already ov'd and was about to ov AGAIN!!! from other side, so needless to say DH will be getting no peace anytime soon when it comes to fun and frolics grin fingers crossed (legs not haha) that they catch and stick.......heres hoping

Hi Angel and other ladies,

Well it seems i have certainly been out of the loop for a while. I had to stay off this sight for quite sometime, it was getting me so down with everyone falling pregnant.

I saw my gyno on 14 November and we discussed the next stage as the clomid didn't work for me (have pcos for those who don't know me) - the next process im told is IUI - we get three free goes, and the waiting list is 3-6 months, so DH and me have decided to pay for a go ourselves as all this waiting is driving me nuts (have been trying for four years this month). So figures crossed as i hoping to start that next month or in January.

Just to share something with you my gyno said - sorry if it depresses you, but facts and figures are a must in this game. The longer you have been trying to conceive naturally without success, the lower your chances (mine being 1%), with clomid the chance goes up to 5%, and with IUI it is 15%. Not sure what the odds are with IVF, but guess that will be even higher.

So im now thinking, why the hell was i given clomid when it only gives a 5% chance.... well it is now day 28 of my forth and final cycle of clomid, which considering my af is between day 32 and 49, im certainly not holding out much hope.
teenab im so so sorry 2 have red that i feel so gutted 4 u. please let us no how u get off.

ill be praying 4 u. all the best xx

Hi Vickks,

Well in answer to your question about what's next. I am on my 6 and final course of Clomid, last cycle i had 7 follicles so they put me down to 50mg instead of 100. when they scan me last week i only have 1 follicle which was only 12mm, not happy, nurse said she don't know what's going on inside me, so i have to go back tomorrow for scan to see if it's still there or not then they will give injection.

Next step for me is 3 cycles of IUI, injecting the sperm by syringe, and 3 goes at IVF. Well i'm leaving it all in God's hands now he will bless me when his ready. Good luck and God bless to us all x
Hi Girlies I’m back! It has been ages since I’ve posted anything, but I’m always having a read, I would hate to miss something! OK so I’m on cycle 4, 150mg and got the blood test tomorrow. I’m not hopeful though I’ve been taking ovulation tests and have still never had a positive. Last month I had to start taking Provera because I didn’t come on; I’m starting to think now what’s next? I was told I could only have six months on Clomid, does anyone know what could be prescribed next? I would hate to think to the Doc would just say have a break and then go back on it.
On the whole I think I’ve been coping quite well, although I thoroughly embarrassed myself on a night out recently. One of my friends (who doesn’t know our situation) was talking about his baby son to me and remarked that it took him and his wife “ages to conceive…. three months!” Well that was it, I just burst in to tears and ran off. Poor bloke he must think I’m crackers!
Baby dust to all, Vik x

Hi Girls

I haven't been on for a while coz was trying to take my mind of things...I just finished third cycle of clomid....progesterone at day 21 is very low and no AF...
I have AF about 1 to 2 times a year and progesterone has been under 1 in all 3 of my cycles...
This cycle I felt i was really pregnant...but my blood showed less progesterone levels shattering my dreams...my cousin who got married 2 weeks before me has had a baby boy lastnight and I was holding back tears...while my DH was oblivious to how i was feeling....I was wondering because my AF is so out of whack is there a chance i could still be pg? It was day 28 yesterday and I havent even bothered to test because its going to make it more real! I feel like il never get there...my sis in law said something like i can imagine what your kids will be like and I almost burst into tears...its so emotionally straining.... sorry to go on but am starting to feel depressed and strained....

Hi Haylz

Yeah gyno said i do ov and can't find any cause of infertility!! Am feeling really hopeful that the clomid will work at the moment so fingers are crossed smile

Hi Angel

I'm sorry the Clomid didn't work but good luck and babydust for your ivf my fingers are crossed and my prayers will be with you. Will try not to get too hooked and keep a pma, it's just nice to know I'm not on my own.

It seems that because all my family (my generation) got married within 2 years of each other, they have all got babies now and I'm still childless sad Especially when one of them had been married 3 weeks when she got her bfp envy I get really jealous but then feel bad for feeling jealous and then I pull myself together and I'm OK I'm hoping that it's not just me and I haven't gone nuts grin

Hi lynzie,

I have too have unexplained infertility. Been ttc for 2 years now well just over. As you will see from my posts i was already ovulating without clomid, but even higher ith it. Clomid didnt work for us. It seems to work for many people who have pcos or other issues where they are not ovulating hence making them ovulate. I am now waiting for ivf in january. Good luck though. A word of advice would be to not get too hooked on these forums. If u scroll down you will see myself and wallacex have stopped coming on as at times it really gets depressing and for clomid to work anyway you cant have that! So good luck, really hope it works for you......Ask me anything if you need to. TC x

Hi everyone

My name is Lynzie and I have looked at this thread a few times recently because I have been waiting to start my first cycle of Clomid, wouldn't you know it was prescribed on day 6 of my cycle so just too late to start immediately angry anyway have started it now and as luck would have it have not had many side effects just a few hot flushes and feeling like i have a brick in my uterus grin I'm on day 9 at the min and was wondering if anyone is at the same stage as me? I don't have any children yet and have been ttc for 3 years, consultant has said DH and I have genuine unexplained fertility hmm so prescribed clomid coz of ttc for so long. Is that unusual?? Sorry to go on but thought I should introduce myself and my story.

Good luck everyone I have my fingers crossed for us all

i have taken my second round of clomid and had day 21 bloods only to find out i didnt ovulate ! gutted is an understatment as im sure many of you understand.
finally managed to speak to my consultant who told nme to wait for next period so i could begin taking 3rd round of clomid.

4 weeks later still no bloody af and i was so frustrated!spoke to consultant again who pressribed provera to bring on period. over week later still no period so decided to do pregnancy test today end it was POSITIVE. im sooooo happy. ive done two to be sure and both the same.( think i will do one more in morning as you do !)

will keep you all informed of my progress so chin up girls there is light at the end of that very dark long tunnel.xxxxxxxxxxx

yeah!!!!! finally i have my clomid. rang and rang and rang the secretary of my consultant so much so i think she did it to get me off her back. Was slightly gutted though as the first chemist i took it too said they couldnt read it and i had to go bk to the hospital was not happy. But all sorted now, just took it to another chemist.
So just got to wait for af now then i can start taking it. Although it not to turn up and me be pg would be better. Af due tomorrow then due to start first clomid sat. anyone on same day would love some support.
Also any advice on taking it in the morning or at night? which is best?
hope everyones ok n keeping their head up.
fingers crossed and baby dust to all.

that is great news that you ovulated on your first round. I hope it works for me too.
Did you use the predictor kits to see when yuor most fertile time was? that might help.

Congrats to magnummum...that is wonderful news. I would love twins...still at the moment just one healthy baby would be a miracle.

Haylz I hope you are feeling better. Good luck with the next round of clomid.

Hello All

I took my first round of clomid last month - had scan and the docs said i had a folicle of 10 mm and another one of 18mm which is ok. My 21 day bloods also said i had ovulated and the level was 61.5.

So my hopes were up but then had my period 3 days late (which is good for me - i normally am 2 1/2 weeks late)

I felt a lttile confused because i really thought that the clomid had worked.
I have just finished taking my 2nd lot and the docs kept me on 50mg. So it must be doing somethin good.

Anyone had similar story or does anyone have advice for me.

Baby dust to each and every one xx

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage.
Hopefully clomid will be good for you. Did your doc tell you what days you should take the tablets? mine said days 2 to 6 but some others are 3 to 7 or 5 to 9...not sure why they are different.
Did you have periods before you took clomid?

Hello everyone,

I have been reading your forum for a month or so now and have only just plucked up the courage to post something!! blushI already have a ds(18)from a previous relationship and have decided that (madly) I would like another child with my dh. I had a miscarriage last year and have now found out that I'm not ovulating. Have had one course of 50mg Clomid and have just been for my 21 day blood tests last Wed but was bleeding last night sad. Can I ask? When should I take my second course of tablets - tonight or tomorrow?

Hi Haylz,
We do find ourselves in a horrible place and it is so unfair. I hope and pray that the tummy ache you are feeling is not af and something else.
Provera works for me in that it makes me have a bleed and so far I have been able to time when it is. The problem with me is that without taking it I dont have a period at all so I dont know if it would be anything that would help you or not...might be worth asking the gyno.
Were you ovulating at all before you took clomid? I am not ovulating at all so have zero chance of getting pregnant at the moment...really hoping that clomid will make me ovulate...
I am also having acupuncture which I find brilliant...it might be worth a try if you havent tried it yet...apart from anything else it relaxes you.
Good luck hon x
hi hopfulstar
i am hoping that it was 2 soon but i have had a bad stomach most of the day 2day so i think she is on her way. nothing we can do is it hun. does this provera rele wrk then cause my cycles are always between 35-40 days.

Good luck, fingers crossed it works for us.
Did your doctor not send you for any tests to check your tubes or anything before they put you on clomid?

Haylz, so sorry to hear that the test was negative...it might have been too soon to test.

I pray we all get some good news soon. xx

Hi Haylz,
I am on my 4th day of provera (first time) and my last day of taking it is tomorrow. It makes me feel dizzy, emotional, and yes sometimes nausea! Its not the best thing at all, but I hope my period comes soon after, as I then need to start taking 50mg clomid on CD 2-6 and pray or the best!
I am 20 years old, DH 27years old, been together 5 years, married 3 1/2.
Been trying to conceive for 3 years, Dr thinks I have PCOS due to irregular periods, etc, but has not diagnosed me with it as such.
I pray for everyone who wants to be blessed with a child.
Good Luck to all xxxxxx I will keep you all posted!
HAYLZ, pleasekeep me posted too, as we are seem to be in line with each other - what day of provera are you on?

i do have facebook on the name of hadasraya which is my email hadasraya2000@yahoo.com and my msm is axumwit@hotmail.com
about you question of taken provera i think it is neccessary to take provera as aresult if you don't have regular period. for example i had a phone call yesterday afternoon from my doctor she ask me to pop to the clinic to collect prescription provera and metforim because the blood result show i am not ovulating. so i have to take provera to get bleeding and start injection. please pray for me and i will certainly pray for every one who is suffering. hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Haylz,
This will be my first cycle so I am stepping into the unknown a bit. I am on 50mg at the moment but my gyno said that in his clinic they dont go above 100mg and he will only give me 6 months before IVF,. Really hoping it doesnt come to that though.
One Q: if you dont ovulate on clomid do you need to take provera again to get a bleed before you can take it again?
Good luck for you today, I will keep fingers crossed.

Thanks for explaining about the bloods, it's clear now. I don't know why they have not been doing it, i will have to ask them next time i go in. What i meant to say was that i am on 100mg, this whole process get's me a bit confused sometimes. Not looking forward to my last course of clomid, i'm not convinced it will work, they said next step is IUI. Fingers an toes crossed x

Hello,
I am new to this. I came off the pill last year and havent had a period for 11 months....has anyone else had a similar problem?
Got diagnosed with PCOS and am starting clomid next week...once I have induced a bleed. It still all feels very surreal to me to be in this position as I used to have periods before I went on the pill 10 years ago and always assumed that I would be ok...how wrong you are.
Anyway, any advice on positive stories would be much appreciated.

It's my first time on here and i have been encouraged by the many messages that i have read. I was diagnosed with PCOS last year and was prescribed Clomid. I am now on my 5th cycle of 50mg.

On my last scan i was told i had 7 follicles, 4 on one side and 3 on the other, the smallest being 19 and the biggest 25 in size. i thought this would give me a great chance of conceiving, but the nurse told me that i could not have the injection as there was a risk of multiple births, to say i was gutted was an under statement. The nurse also told me not to have sex and wait till my period started, then start on the next course where i would only be given 1 tablet aday instead of 2 (not good). Of course i did not take her advice and was on the case every other day. Supposed to come on this Saturday, wait and see and hope for the best. Quite a few of you stated that you have your bloods taken after each cycle? Can someone explain this, as i never get my bloods taken, once my period starts i just go to the hospital for a repeat prescription of clomid.

God bless & good luck to everyone
hi loobloo
yes u do have a period b4 u ova cause they say u ova around day 21 but it all depends on how long ur cycles r but u can also have a period and not ova at all. isnt ur gp or gyno sending u 4 bloods on ur 21 day.
hope this helps. baby dust 2 u all

I've got a question. As a child in biology lessons, I thought that to have a period you had to ovulate. Can I still have my period, but not ovulate?
I started on clomid last month after ttc for 18 months, really thought it would work but just started AF today. I was positive I ovulated and that I did everything right. Thought I knew my body so well but how wrong I seem to have been.angry
hi every1 and all new comers
aint bn on here 4 absoloutly ages. had my bloods dun yesterday and my result was 37 so gonna b busy ova weekend cause this is the 1st time i may have ova.
well hope ur all feeling ok. i no its a tuff journey but we will get there girls. baby dust 2 u all xxx

Well the day 21 test said not ov'd so I'm back tomorrow for more tests. Never know, could've been late but so far it's been yes, no on a rotation so I'm trying to remember that GCSE Biology..do your ovaries take it in turns to work each cycle? Maybe I've just got one duff one?! Starting to consider forking out for IVF but not sure where the money would come from?! hmm

wuhooooo!!!!!! how glad am i that i asked for a second opinion. Finally i win my battle to be allowed to try clomid. and also find that at this other hospital the ivf/iui waiting list is only 18months and not the 3 yrs at the other one, yeah!!! not that im hoping we get that far. plus hubby has agreed to have ivf if it comes to that yeah. looks like my life could finally be getting better.

omg im am so happy someone is finally taking me seriously and doing something about it. The only way i will be happy is to get my bfp in the next few months.

Hi Everyone (especially Wallacex!)

Just thought i would post another message on here as nerves are getting the better of me. Wallacex where are you? Lol
For those of you who didn’t know I finished my fifth round of Clomid 50mg roughly 2 weeks ago. To be honest I felt may be Clomid would have worked for me as my monthly cycle was fine and I had unexplained infertility plus I was ovulating above average every month. But I couldn’t have been more wrong as even though my consultant was happy to keep me on it, it just hasn’t worked for me. I have one last round left for October 26th which I will take but I haven’t got my hopes up!!!

On Tuesday I got a letter from the hospital saying I had reached the top of the waiting list for IVF. I was so excited as I had not been waiting long, well 9 months to be exact and 5 months of that were taken over by Clomid so I didn’t have much time to think about IVF. It was more about waiting to see if Clomid would work. I have an appointment with my consultant on 30th October and then 12th November, both discussing the start of IVF and the next step.

Im not entirely sure how I feel though, in a way im really scared and nervous aswell as happy and excited. I have 3 IVF attempts for my area but the whole procedure will be very emotionally draining. I have rad a lot about IVF and rather than siding with just success stories I have read failure stories too as I want to be prepared for both. I hate injections so im really not looking forward to that bit but I guess if this is what we want we have to go through trials for it.

I just made it in for IVF as I was 2lb under the required weight but if anyone has diet tips that could HEEELLLLLPPPPPP over the next week and half please do let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol

Good luck to all of you on this site, I really do wish you all the best and hope all your wishes and dreams come true. I know it’s a hard time for us all but as long as we all stay strong and positive and have faith im sure we will see light at the end of this tunnel!!!! GOOD LUCK!

xxxxx babydust to you all!

Hi All,

Thanks you for your best wishes. I will keep you all posted on my pregnancy. Just thought I'd mention something from my clomid experience. I have a 42 day cycle & was going for blood tests on day 21, this will only be accurate if you have a 28 day cycle. I started my last AF on 1st Sept, went to have a blood test on 22nd Sept (21st was a Sunday). When I rang for my results on the Thursday being 24th Sept, was told I had not OV'd. I was told that because my cycle was longer to go & have another blood test on 6th October. Rang up & found out that I had OV'd at 71 a week later. I must have OV'd around the 28th Sept.

Good Luck & baby dust to all. xxx

Hi All!

I've very usefully started my cylce on the first day of the month for past two months so I always know what cycle day I'm on! LOL
Anyway, that makes this day 17, I had a 31 day cycle last time so I guess I'm due to Ov today, although I think it may have been earlier this cycle due to cramps I felt. Who knows, prob never ov'd at all! The TWW is the worst bit. Knowing something for definate at least has a sense of peace, we just drive ourselves insane between one period and the next (if you even get that!) Sorry, off on one!

Peju25, I'm in my first cycle, but in exactly the same position. Feeling really tired, sore boobs, strange stomach aches. Worried I'm just imagining it all though cause don't want to get hopes up. Now got 2ww to see what's happening.
It's so frustrating each day waiting takes forever, but the months of no pg are wizzing by too quickly.

Hi all - well im on cd22 of my 2nd round of clomid. Had day 21 bloods yesterday but got wait a week for results. Am really hoping this could be my month but think may be getting hopes up.

Have been really tired last couple of days and had some funny feeling in tummy and boobs are starting to ache (think it different to af symptoms as more round nips than at sides - lol!!)

Trying not to get my hopes up tho as it is prob the OB being just round corner. Hating this 2ww it is awful symptom spotting all the time!!

My cycle on 1st round was 31 days so got a while before it worth testing i think and trying to hold off!!

Any one else in their 2ww??

Hiya Katie
Yeah I found the headaches almost unbearable to be honest, and I dont know about u, but Im so wary of taking anything 4 them. Ive heard that even paracetamol is a no-no if ur ttc, what do u think?

Im glad that u feel more comfortable now about the drilling, maybe it will be the thing to work 4 u, who knows? Fingers crossed also 4 this round of Clomid!

I have my bloods tomorrow (day 21) and im so so nervous coz i dont want to be disappointed. Ive got my hopes up too much but I just cant help it. Ive had some funny symptoms, Sore swollen boobs, and exhausted all the time, but Im probably imagining it.For some silly reason I did a HPT, although I knew it as too early and it came back neg. When is the earliest time to do a test? Is it after day 28?

I hope ur headaches calm down soon-have u tried 4head stick? I fond that can be quite soothing xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Gem,

My bloods are booked for next friday so i will find out when i get the results what we are doing next, after reading up about ovarian drilling and hearing some positive news on here regarding it i think i am a little more comfortable having it done.

Yes i am on facebook, its katie budden im in brighton and hove network, there are quite a few of me so my profile pic is just me with blonde hair and a green top!

i took my last tablet thursday of last week and since then the head aches have been really bad, the worst i have had in the past 3 months definitely, also feel mega hungry all the time, not good!!

lots of love

Hi Ladies,

I hope everyone is doing ok. I finished my second round of clomid at 100mg back in september. Was due on today, but AF has not come. Did a HPT & it was BFP!!!!!!!!!! grin Could not believe it. Still in total shock shock, did not think that it was going to work out this month. Dosen't feel real. I am absolutly over the moon though.

Thanks for all of your support over the last 3 months. I hope it works out for you all & may all your dreams come true.

Skates77 - I had ovarian drilling a few years ago when clomid, pregesterone and metformin had no effect. It is a really simple op and you don't suffer much and within 3 months I was preg with my DD. Please don't dismiss it if yu can get it done. I wish they'd do it again for me! grin

Hi Katie
That does seem strange that ur dr wants to opt 4 surgery so soon, mayb u should tell him that ur not happy with this n want to stay on clomid 4 longer. Hes obliged to listen at least.
Im doing ok, but the headaches r still really bad, and am feeling sick too, altho this could be due to the fact tht i have bronchitis at the moment which is makin me feel horrible!! The worst thing is the antibiotics 4 bronchitis r not suitable during pregnancy and while ttc, so i wont take the risk, just gotta wait 4 my bodies own antibodies to fight it.
How r u finding this round of Clomid? R the side effects as bad as b4?

Oh I was goin to ask, r u on facebook?

Take care love Gem xxxx
Morning all,

Pinkali - I am only allowed to try 3 months of Clomid, not really sure why my doctor has told me that, he wants to try ovarian drilling after this and then maybe the IVF waiting list, it all seems to be a bit strange to me, why not let me try Clomid for 6 months, 3 months is not long enough for my body to get used to ovulating, i havent even had a day 21 bloods yet!!

Gem - You are right, no matter how much it hurts I will get there in the end, even if that is through adoption. How are you doing, any side effects? Loads of love xxxx

Hi Angel,

I agree, I loved the support this site first gave me and the info, plus the comparison as to the effects of clomid as its something the doctors don't seem to be aware of - but then after a while it made me depressed i've kept an eye on the thread and am chuffed that it has worked for some ladies, but at the same time (sorry to be selfish) i can't help thinking how come its not me.

Anyway on to the injections - not sure what they are called, the name is so bloody long - but you inject them daily straight into your pelvic region then you have one final injection which is a HCG injection which makes the ovary release the egg - then your supposed to have sex for the next 2-3 days. They are suppossed to give a better result than clomid but if you can't get them on the NHS then i think it is roughly about £1,000 per cycle as you have to be monitored with scans every week due to size your ovaries could grow to.

Also there is more of risk of multi births with the injections than clomid.

Hiya wallacex, im due to see my consultant the day before you on 12th nov. I think its best not to really post messages on this site otherwise your always thinking about it.

Dont worry wallacex i dont think the clomids going to work for me ither only 1 more rund left. dont believe in it at all. i think GMTV were right lol! What injections are you taking???? Dont understand....xx
Flynn Fantastic news and another example of how it can work, like with me!

Skates Why are you only tring three months of clomid?
Hi there,

I was prescribed clomid and got my bloods taken on 12th Sept after my 3rd cycle and doc told me I never ovulated...said something like the results was less than 2.
I was about to start my 4th cycle when the dose was doubled, but found out on sunday that I'm pregnant
I think the reason for this is because I wasn't trying this time due to the fact doc said it wasn't possible this month.
I have done 7 hpt to be sure and they are all positive, just waiting on doc to confirm this!

Please don't give up hope of clomid working, but please dont stress too much i calmed down and now I got my wish!

Babydust for all *****

Oh Katie, Im so sorry to hear that but please dont give up hope. Ive heard so many stories about women who have had success after several courses of clomid, and they also say that it happens when u least expect it. I am sure that u will get ur much deserved baby, even if it takes a little longer than u hoped, and i do know the upset and frustration that ur goin through, but do try and stay positive, even though its desperately hard to do so. But a positive mind does help I know u will get there, i really do feel positive for u and I am sending u much love and healing. Remember this-even in the darkest of days there is always a glimmer of hope, and its that uve got to hang onto,

Take care of yourself and im thinking of u,

Hi Gem,

Sorry I ahvent been for a while, got my AF on saturday morning and since then I have felt like crying but enoguh of my moaning.

For sweet cravings I normally try to have strawberries, raspberries and kiwis, something about them makes me feel like ive had something nice, have you tried making squah ice cubes, just add a little bit of sugar free squash in your ice cubes and then have them with water, makes it taste better meaning you drink more and eat less. these are the sort of things i find work, failing that a huge bar of dairy milk with caramel!!

I am now on my third and final round of Clomid, i am also taking metformin just in case this helps at all.

My doctor has told me that I will not be able to rely on pregnancy tests alone, he always has said that.

Hi Angel,

I too have been avoided putting messages on this thread as during my second cycle, my emotions were so bad i was getting really down and depressed.

I have finished my third round of clomid and am due to have my period any day now, as for me its now day 30. I had acupunture this time as well and thought what aload of pants, how can it help but i was willing to try anything, so fingers crossed. I had the needles put in my feet, legs, wrists, head, ears and very briefly in my back.

I am due to see my consultant next month, 13 November and will only be on round 4 or 5 by that time, but if the clomid hasn't work its on to the injections for me.
teenab "Hello" I would start it as soon as possible. I had a session each week (which did become a little expensive BUT i was at the stage of doing anything). We were also about to start IVF if the clomid didn't work (think someone on here mentioned it). I used to think it was a load of boll*cks (acupunture that is), until the man doing it really explained how it could help and it actually made sense.

I used to have the needles put in my wrists, in my ankles (quite deep, well he would twist them until said owch and then that was the right place apparently), and also once or twice in my head. I didn't have many. I used to really enjoy the sessions because it was me time and I spent the session believing in what he was doing. He was trying to make my womb fertile (like soil in a garden) so that things wanted to grow in it.

I am feeling very well thank you. Have just realised i have put on 2 stone and I have 5 weeks left and just can not believe it. I know how you all feel and I thank god everyday for this special little miracle and I do pray that it happens to every single one of you.

Hi all hope your all well.

just thought id see how you all are. I am currently on day 13 after finishing round 5 of clomid. Been going for acupuncture too. It was my 6th session yesterday and the needles were put in even deeper!!! Ouch lol they were also put in my hands too which was a little painful during and after but maybe it will all be worth it. Not looking forward to next session as it seems the more sessions you have the deeper the needles go. How is everyone elses acupuncture and where are the needles being put. I have them in my feet too, dont understnd what hands and feet have to do with concieving lol! Got one final round left of clomid next month and see my consultant in 4 weeks!

Hope it works out for me this month!

Take care xx

Hi everyone
Not been here for a while, I guess I'm just trying not to think to much about it all. I'm now on my 3rd and last round of clomid after a second unsuccessful cycle. Been for our first initial tests so we can start IVF as soon as, which will prob be Dec or Jan so we're hoping next year might be a better year if everything works out. I'm determined not to let this whole baby making business rule my life and I've been trying not to think about it all the time like I have been. I'm sure it's stressing me out which isn't going to help. I hope everyone else is taking it easy and not letting it get to you. Good luck to everyone and take care.

TEENAB oops sorry about CAPS... I didn't start the acupuncture intentionally at a specific time but more by coincidence. I started it a few days before AF due. (I say due but it was never a dead cert). I truely believed it helped me. Make sure you go to someone that has done this type before i.e. trying to help someone conceive. Where abouts in the country are you?

Hi,
Well no great suprises when AF turned up!
Guess I must've ovulated about day 17!

I'm not sure where the idea preg tests don't work for women with PCOS is from? I've been pregnant twice with PCOS (one m/c) and both showed up fine on HPT. It is ovulation kits that are no good for us...they measure soemthing called a LH (lutenising hormone)surge which normally goes hand in hand with ovulation but when you have PCOS you can have random LH surges whether ovulating or not. It's often an indication of the illness when people go to docs saying they never get a period/pregnant despite lots of positive ov tests!

Hi Katie,

Why do doctors have to do that? It really annoys me the way they talk to u sometimes. It makes me feel just like another statistic, not an individual person with feelings and emotions. I bet if they were in our position they wouldnt talk to us in that way.
I didnt know that if u have pcos, pregancy tests dont always work, thats annoying isnt it-so u can only really rely on blood tests?

yeah the tablets make my cravings worse too, and i know what u mean about finding it hard to lose weight. I could control my weight easily when i was younger, but now it is such a struggle. Have u got ne tips about how to control the cravings? Its to do with unstable blood sugar isnt it? I try not to eat naughty things, but sometimes I just say sod it and give in, they r that strong!

Yeah i know what u mean about taking the fun out of the bedroom, but just like urs, my hubby isnt complaining either!!

Hi girls. Did my first month of Clomid with no success, and no AF at the end of the cycle. Dr made me wait for a week for AF and she never came.
So now I'm back on Provera to bring AF on, then back on clomid.
The first time I took clomid, I hadn't had AF for 8 months and just began taking it, so do you ladies know what day in my cycle I should start???
I'm a bit unsure? Is everyone different or is there a diffinitave start date???
hi Gem,

I have been to the doctors this morning who knew nothing about Clomid! he took some blood to test my hormones for pregnancy and ovulating. He told me that because of the PCOS i might not show up on a pregnancy test, which i already knew but he really annoyed me, he spoke to me like i was a child!

I am forever craving sweet things, the tablets made it so much worse, it is such a pain putting on weight as it is so damn hard to lose it!

Working out days is a bit of a hassle, takes the fun out of making love, but he isnt complainng!!

Hi Skates,

sorry to hear ur in limbo at the moment, it must be very fustrating 4 u. Im definately keeping my fingers crossed 4 u that this may be ur month x

do u ever feel like its a military operation trying to work things out? I know its worth it all but i do so so wish that it would just happen likt it does 4 other couples.

do u get the bad sweet cravings with the pcos. Mine r really bad at the moment-it feels li ke all i want to do is eat chocolate and ice cream-very frustrating!!! and im finding it hard to resist things, something tha hasnt been a problem in the past. Its so annoying!

Love Gem xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi GemmaLouise,

I still havent got my period. I have done 2 pregnancy tests but both negative. Not really sure what to do so I will wait until Saturday and do another one.

Yes its around day 14 or 15 they say its best to have sex on the day before you ovulate but I am not sure how true that is, i normally try to do it day 11, 13, 15 and then each day in the desperate hope that if i missed the ovulating it might get it the more there is!

Yes my doctor also makes me think that I only have PCOS because i am 'fat' which is annoying as I have read about it for the past 10 years and no where does it say that!

The side effects are pretty bad, my headaches were more like migrains and the sickness did my head in but if it gets us pregnant i guess we have to put up wiht it

Hi Skates. I know exactly what u mean about the weight thing-since being diagnosed with pcos i have put on a great deal of weight, which i find particularly hard to deal with because of my previous problems. Plus, as a gym-lover im also having to limit my exercise while ttc, which is also difficult. The doctors just dont seem to acknowledge the link between pcos and weight gain do they, and one dr even told me that it was my fault as "fat people get pcos, pcos doesnt make u fat" When i told my acupuncture dr this, he was very cross, and said that this was a totally unjustified comment and she shouldnt have said it. I couldnt help but to let it upset me a bit tho.

As the tablets, i took my last one on monday. and to be honest i found the side-effects pretty horrible. The headaches were awful, and the bloating and tummy ache wasnt nice either, and hav also been very emotional, however it will all be worth it if it achieves what im longing 4.
To be honest tho i wasnt given very much information at all about the tablets, and i not even sure when the dates r im most likely to conceive. Ive been trying to work it out and im guessing about 14 days after u took ur 1st tablet, is that right, as u have an ovulation test on the 21st day dont u. I probably sound really stupid, but i do get confused by it. Sorry 4 all the questions. Ive probably bored u by going on so much.

How r u doing? Have u had ne more signs yet? xxxx
Hi Girlies I’m back again. Just found out today that it’s not happened again this month. Hubbie and me took the test this morning, didn’t think I was, but you still hope. I’m not even sure I ovulated again, the Doc is supposed to be phoning tomorrow and I expect to be put on 150mg. I’ve had acupuncture this month and made a real effort to eat healthy and not drink too much; fat lot of good that did!
Next month I’m loading up on chocolate. Who’s with me! wink

Skates77 - welcome to my world! I just pile weight on if I come off the pill. I thought I would come on between Sun and Tue. Had cramping and little dots of blood but no period (sorry tmi!)but I usually have heavy periods. I know I ovulated cos had day 21 blood test. Had lots of neg HPTs cos I bought a load off ebay and then got a bit obsessed with testing as they were cheap!
I daren't do another test as I'm sure to come on as soon as I throw another negative one in the bin (having stared at it for half an hour in varying lights of course!)wink

I've got PCOS so was prescribed Clomid. Dd (now 26 months)concieved on 3rd cycle at 50mg and have just found out I'm expecting number 2 after 6 cycles of varying amounts, so keeping fingers crossed it all works out.
Loobloo, day 21 blood test is a test for your level of Progesterone. This shows whether you ovulated or not. Now i have forgotten all this so do correct me if I am wrong but anything over 10 is good but really for proper ovulation you want over 30. I had 2 months at 1.0 (rather crap) and 3rd month 67 and conceived. Telephone your doctors to ask for the blood test. OR just go for it and wait each month. Saves all the waiting around for results etc.

teenab, clomid is not a drug that builds up each month therefore your blood test results will vary. Do not worry too much your 127 beat my measley 67 and 1.0!!! Just keep trying and stay positive. I'm sure you have but I cut out all caffeine and alcohol and took prenatal tablets. I also had acupuncture the month i conceived which if nothing else helped give me a few minutes of ME time and in the end actually made sense that he was trying to make my womb like a fertile garden, ready for the seed to implant! I AM NOT A HIPPY but mentally it did help!

littlestar quit with the telling DH to leave!! I MEAN THIS NICELY. I did exactly the same thing with my DH. Go on leave me etc... It does seem so unfair however, you have to take time out and relax. I got the stage that I had almost given up all hope, yet at that very point when I started to relax i conceived. I couldn't stand looking at people with bumps, however yesterday in town someone was buying a predictor ovulation test behind me in Boots and she was staring at my tummy and I felt guilty as hell knowing how some people including myself struggle to achieve what seems to natural to others. x

Hi All

on my 3rd cycle of Clomid, 50mg days 2-6, have unexplained infertility over four years after mc in 2004. Tried IVF four times, and no luck on implantation. Does anyone know what affects Clomid has on implantation as concerned about this.
Fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky
Thanks for all your sharing...it really does help.

Hi GemmaLouise,

I have been trying to conceive for about 2 years, its been a hard struggle as i have PCOS which means i am slightly overweight so doctors seem to think that becuase i am a bit fatter i need to do all sorts before they can start me on stuff!

I am currently waiting for my period after my second course of clomid, i was due friday but nothing so far and a negative pregnancy test so i feel a bit in limbo, in a way i wish i would get my period so that i can start my third round of clomid and get trying again but on the other hand i might be pregnant.

I havent yet had a day 21 blood test as my first one i got my period on day 21 and my second one due the friday before last i was 100% certain i was getting my period again only to wake up with no pains and no bleeding. think my body is playing tricks on me!

How are you going on your tablets?

take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My periods are like once a year if am lucky i have probably had about 5 real periods ever....i dont suppose there is any chance of doing a pregnancy test, with my progesterone being so low?

I am going a bit crazy i keep telling my husband to leave me or i will leave him so he can get marrid to someone who can give him kids....

pregnancy is so easy for some...especially find it annoyin when ppl say it wasnt planned or was an accident....feel like killin then
Littlestar, my periods could be anything from 40 days to 84, if that is what you call irregular? grin That is what first made me suspicious that something was wrong when I came off the pill.

Thanks Pinkali,

you have really lifted my spirits are your periods irregular to?
Littlestar ... ditto! My second month showed my P was 1.0 (which devastated me and i just saw the months counting down), however my 3rd month still on 50mg it jumped up to 67 and this was the month I conceived! I still have a cupboard full of 100mg clomid for months 4, 5 & 6 as I pre-ordered them as i thought there was no hope on 50mg. SO MORAL OF STORY, stay positive and keep doing it! I really do know how you feel.. <hug> x

Hi Girls

I have not been on for a few weeks i guess i have been trying not to think about it but feeling really down today as just found out that i have not ovulated for the second month.

I was feeling nauseous, had back pain and hoped that i might be pregnant but yesterday dreams were shattered as 21 day test came back as 1.0.

Pinkali- I was reading your earlier post and you mentioned that you had low progesterone for first few months and then it jumped up, are your periods really irregular? I hardly ever have a period!

Lots of baby dust to all....
Welcome GemmaLouise, I wish you all the luck in the world for your much desired baby, you deserve it.

My AF is not here yet so fingers crossed!!!

Hi everyone, Im new to this, but i found your messages when i typed in Clomid on google. I took taken my first ever clomid tablet this morning, and i just cant settle. I cant sleep, which is why im out of bed and on the computer now!! I just want to be a mum so much, and Im hoping and praying that Clomid will help me do that. I was recently diagnosed with pcos, and have quite a complicated background. I developed anorexia and bulimia 4 years ago, n nearly died. I was on the pill at the time but, even after stopping it, my periods stopped and i didnt have one for 3 and a half years, despite returning to a healthy weight. It was then the drs discovered I had pcos. Since this I have put on quite a lot of weight which I am finding hard to deal with. I was put on a month of the pill, to produce a period, and am now on clomid (and praying) It was so nice to read all your messages and to know that im not the only one with problems (I feel like such a failure) If anyone has any advice at all to increase my chances i'd be so grateful. Im not even sure, with the clomid, when my most fertile time is, all i know so far is that im having a blood test in 21 days to check for ovulation. Sorry for going on so much, im just feeling like theres no hope 4 me, after what i put my body through. Love and best wishes to all the ladies on here xxx

Skates, let's hope it doesn't come then!!! Then you can think bugger day 21 blood tests! <baby dust to you>

Havent been on here for about a month now as i think it gets me down by making me think about the problem even more. But anyway had a blood test last week and got my results yesterday. Ovulation was at 50.5 this month compared to 30.5 the month before. I am due to start my fifth round of clomid this week. And in november i go to see my consultant. Good luck to you all.

had a weird weekend went to supermarket on friday when i got home there was a pregnancy test in the box then went back to the same supermarket today and this lady came straight up to me and said that my life would be ok and so would my health then she said to me that i was expecting a baby so i should look after myself. VERY STRANGE i just looked at her like she mad and she just walked off.

anyway ive got my scan tomorrow to see if my follicles have grown since friday (lady must have been nuts as not ovulated yet).

Hi KatieLou,

Welcome to the thread, also welcome to Flo smile. My tips when taking clomid would be not to get obsessive about it, it will only end up stessing you out! Please try to stay positive. I know that is easier said then done. When I first started to take clomid I got obsessive about it & let it take over my life. It ended up making me feel so stressed & depressed. I felt like I had lost control of doing day to day things & that it was all about TTC. I also try to remember that everyone's experiences with clomid are different. Different doctors ways of doing things & different side effects. Stick to what you gyne/GP told you & if you have any concerns or side effects that you arent sure about then call them, after all that's what we pay NI for. I know that on this thread we are all in the same boat & are very supportive. I'm not knocking any of us when I say this but my one bit of advise is not to read to may forums, some of them can make you feel very negative & confused (that's my experience anyway). Luckily on this thread we have had a few sucsesses lately smile.

But she seemed hopeful as she said all my womb lining is measuring up ok according to me being on day 11 so maybe everything is as it should be

Hi!
Think it's 500mg X 3 a day. I try and take one with each meal. Recently remembered that I was taking Oil of Evening Primrose when I conceived my DD too! Started taking it again, I read somewhere to take it from start of cycle up to day 14. I don't pretend to know why but it can't really hurt I suppose and I did conceive the first time I tried that way back when! Could be coincidence of course. grin

Hi MWmum thanks for your advice. I haven't got PCOS but I do have 2 cysts on my right ovary which I've had since I was 19 but they've never caused me any major trouble. I will probably mention it to my doctor when I next see her. What dose of metformin do you take and how often?
Welcome xTINKSx. If I were you I'd wait until your next period is due, either on that day or just after, before taking a test. If it's BFN and AF doesn't show up I'd wait a week before re-testing, otherwise you'll end up spending a fortune on pg tests! Good luck!

Jonah's girl - have you got PCOS? If so it might be worth asking for Metformin which helps regulate blood sugars. I crave tons of sweet stuff if I'm not taking metformin or the contraceptive pill! It's part of the problem with PCOS that makes you eat loads and gain weight but that just makes the cravings stronger. Anyway, just a thought...you could, of course, just fancy chocolate! wink

Hi everyone and welcome hayzee.
How is everyone doing? I'm feeling really fed up today and fat!! I don't know about you guys but I can't stop eating!! Is anyone else like that? I am constantly hungry and all I want to eat is crap food! I've never eaten more sweets and chocolate in my life and I just can't stop myself from doing it, it's like i've got no will power what so ever!!
Like you vikks I've got spots too. Fat and spotty!! Bet DP finds me very attractive!!! Not!
I'm just playing the waiting game now, I'm on day 28 of 2nd cycle of clomid and cause I don't have regular cycles I don't know when to test. I feel a bit crampy (as well as cranky!) as if AF will come but who knows?
I'm going to an IVF open evening on Wed with DP which is the first step on the IVF ladder so I'll let you know how we get on.
Hope you're all feeling ok and not too stressed out (like me!!).
Take care everyone xx
Morning Ladies,

Wallacex I know what you mean, I became an auntie for the second time on friday so everyone is gushing about the baby, especially as it is boy, first grandson and all that. I am happy for my sister inlaw but also I cant help feeling very jealous.

I am convinced I will get AF this week, I'm not due for another two weeks but last month I got AF on day 21 which this month is on friday as I am having my bloods, if I get to there without AF that is! no point in checking if I am bleeding.

I have not had any side effects this month, feel periody now but other than that nothing.

Sorry to moan on, just not feeling very positive this time.

Sacks and sacks of baby dust to us all

hi everyone thanks for the welcome. The side effects have been not too bad felt like i wanted to kill everyone lol and a bit sick. Just hoping the scan shows its working but thats what will all hope.
Hi Girls,
I've finished my 100mg, hubby and I have started trying again this month. Didn't like the 100mg, I felt quite sick every day about 5 hours after taking them. And to top it off I've got spots! Just a few but I never get them. Oh well, if it works I don't care about a few spots. I've also started my weekly acupuncture, I'm not convinced it'll help but it's nice to get time to relax and it really helps clear my head.

Welcome hayzee, good luck with the scan. Have you had any strange side effects this month?

wishinanhopin- I'd test day 28. The Clomid should make your cycle short and regular. My cycle was 3 monthly before I started but now it's 29-31 days. Even though it hasn't worked yet, it's still nice to get to try once a month. Good luck x

I was OV between 6-11th, so we made love accordingly, realistically when should I take a test?? I haven't had a period in 8 months, hence the clomid, but I am feeling weird. I'd constipated and feel crampy, kinda like the dreaded AF is on its way.

Skates,

I know where your coming from I am one day from finishing my third round of clomid tablets, only for a work colleague who works in the same department as me to tell me that she is 14 weeks pregnant. I cried my heart out in my lunch hour. I asked myself what is wrong with me so much that I can't get pregnant - its something im suppossed to be able to do and can't seem to. Failure is just one of the words floating around my head. My emotions seem to be running wild and I do not know where to go or what to do, I don't want to give up, but Im not sure I can handle the heartache every month.
Morning ladies,

I am in a terrible mood today, think it might be PMT which I am really hoping I am wrong about as I am not due on for another 2 weeks!!!

Beginning to wonder if I will ever be pregnant and getting myself a bit upset.

Why do we do this to ourselves!

I'm with you there girls! This baby making routine is a full time business!! We have to meticulously plan when we can get it together cause we both work different shifts and it also seems to fall on, when i think, is my fertile days, when we struggle to be at home at the same time! So theres been many times when I think we missed out that month, but who knows? My DP also has days when he isn't in the mood but it's funny how he never seemed to say no when we weren't ttc!! I think it's an ego thing with men and if we make them think it's their sexy body we want and not just their ability to make babies!! Then that'll probably work better!!
Have fun tryin!!!
XXX
I am currently on my most fertile days but I couldnt have sex last night, i felt so tired and drained I went straight to sleep, feel bad this mornign that I might have missed my chance this month, got my bloods next friday so we shall see!

hope fully i wont get my period on day 21 again this month!

Peju, I went through exactly the same thing the month I got pregnant! DH suddenly decided he didn't want it in our prime time. SO... I stopped telling him when good or bad times were, i didn't mention anything to do with clomid and liek most things we haev to do with men, make them feel like it is there own idea!! I made sure we did it on and evening then possibly miss a day and do it the morning after that. It made him feel i was doing because i wanted to (which of course I was because I wanted a baby!!!) It meant a lot of forcing myself to have it when I knew I really didn't want to but it lulled him into a false sense of security!! grin

Thanks skates - think i prob caught it on a bad day as usually all that stuff works for me too but last night nothing was working and we ended up arguing over it coz he said im always after it (think my sex drive is just a tad higher than his lol!). When i tried to tell him it wasnt just about the sex and that i thought we were meant to be trying for a family he just said we are but he dont want to do it every 5 mins and sometimes he just wants to have a cuddle n go to sleep! - he just dont seem to understand the timing thing. Will go home and try to talk it through tonight, think he is feeling bit guilty tho and knows how hard it is for me being the one who cant have baby naturally etc so fingers crossed!
Peju i totally understand what you are saying and i am more than happy to listen to any ranting you want to do my love.

It is hard for the men to understand what we are going through, they should be happy we want to have sex with them not moan!!

Have you tried buying some sexy underwear or night stuff? i find if i come down stairs wearing something sexy my other half cant resist even if he is tired. they have to think its their idea, be suggestive, give him some extra kisses, they need to be showed you love them for them and not just for sex which is strange considering all they think about is sex!

Hi all - im having a really bad down day today. Finally get put on clomid - do ov tests and get the first pos yday then went home and tried to get dh to bd! He went off on one saying he wasnt in the mood! What is it with these men they say they want a baby and so we do all the tests and take the medication to get it and they cant even do the one little thing it needs at the right time. He said he feels like he got to do it to order. why dont he realise that we aint gonna have a baby naturally and unfortunately there is only a couple of days a month it might happen. Only got 6 chances at this and 1 gone already. I know it has taken over our lives a bit. im just so upset right now and just feel like chucking it all in the bin. angry sad sad sad
sorry to rant on just needed to get it out to someone.

Big congrats to newly pregnant ladies...no more mr Whippies or yummy brie for you ladies! It tastes better after 9 months so don't worry.
Just on day 9 of cycle with 100 mg of clomid so about to start the whole ttc thing again. Bit suprised to hear about te abstinence from day 10 to 12 thing, never heard that before? Particularly as that was my "prime time" as I was hoping for another girl? Oh well, think I'll go for it anyway and see what happens, sick of my life being so prescripted, sure the world wouldn't be so full if we really had to get it just perfect! wink

Got a quick question for you all! I have heard that Ov tests dont work with clomid & pcos but is this always true?? I am on 1st try on clomid and have pcos and not getting any blood tests this month so decided to buy some. They have been really faint for last 4 days but today the test line is defo darker - can i trust this result??

Shaddy
You have given us all so much hope. I LOVE to see women get that happy ending were all hoping and praying for. Good luck girls and keep your spirits UP. I've been re-reading "The Secret" and the whole law of attration. We have to KNOW we will get pregnant, not HOPE or worry we won't.
DH and I have been having our fun as well, and he too is feeling like a robot LOL. They complain but I'm sure they LOVE it.
Best wishes and baby dust to all!
SHADDY, many congratulations with your pregnancy, you've given us all a little bit more hope today.

I needed cheering up today, I'm so desperate to come on so I can start taking my 100mg. I think my body is playing tricks on me, I feel like I'm on. I'm definitely not pregnant and my Doc thinks this is the month I'll ovulate. I've never wanted a period so much..... maybe tomorrow.

Hi guys,

Hope you're all well.

Still no luck on the baby front!! I guess it's just not gonna happen.

I'm trying to focus my energies elsewhere but it's not going too well.

Best of luck and babydust to you all. Hope you have more luck than me!!

Hi Littlestar,

I was on 50mg of clomid which was increased to 100mg this cycle finish last tab tomorrow. I've been taking 2 tabs together. I hope this helps.x

Hi Pinkali

Just another question for you...I have taken 2 tabs yesterday one in the morning and one in the evening and have taken one in the morning today...if i take one this evening around 8pm do you think it would be ok to take tommorows 2 tabs at 4.30am? or should i wait till the evening? Dont want to overdose
Littlestar - My progesterone in 1st month was unrecordable, 2nd month 1.0 and 3rd month still on 50mg 67! By the first month not working it doesn't mean a 2nd on the same dosage won't. Anyway, i wish you luck. Be a little wary though if GP puts you up again to 150mg for 3rd month!!

Peju, Clomid should help regularise your cycle (it won't be perfect cos mine wasn't). My consultant recommended; abstain from day 10 to eve of day 12, then do it as and when you want all the way through to day 17-20 (depending on how you feel). In fact the month I got pregnant my DH suddenly decided he felt like a robot so we were doing it less often. Think it was eve, morning, then the next days eve and so on (if that makes sense).

thanks pinkali37

I will take them together...my progesterone was only 1.2 after taking the 50mg tabs hence the reason it was put up

I hope i can join you eventually - finished 1st round of clomid 3 days ago so gonna make sure get lots of fun in!!! wink
Just not sure when (or if) i ov as my cycle so mixed up im usually anywhere between 28 days to 45.

Well done again!!
Congratulations Shaddy, thats great news, hopefully there will be a pregnancy for all of us very soon

Firstly, Shaddy, i'm so very pleased for you, i know how surreal it feels when it finally works!

Secondly, Littlestar, it does make me wonder why some Gp's are not willing to let 50mg work. I was told by my consultant (V high up inhis field) to try 50mg for 3 months and then move up to 100mg for last 3 months. My first 2 didn't work but on my 3rd month (and already had prescription to move up to 100mg) it worked! If you have been told to up your dose, they should be taken together to make 100mg!!!!

HI Marcy,

I will definitely email you. It's always nice to talk to people who know exactly how you feel. I sometimes felt like I was in competition with other people as to who could get pregnant first, silly really.

I actually got it wrong, my DH had his vesctomy reversal in Sep '06 not '07.

Hi everyone

I've just found a good website called babymed.com that has loads of information about taking clomid and answers lots of questions we all might have.

It also has a clomid ovulation calculator were you put the date in of when you took your last tablet and it works out when you can expect to ovulate and which are your most fertile days.

Check it out on...
http://babymed.com/tools/fertility/clomid/

Hope it's useful

Hi all,
Me and my hubby are trying for a baby over 11/2yrs. I am 34+ with no luck so far. I have irregular period & had serveral tests:LAP,HSG & tube dye. Evrytng was fine but only problem is I'not ovulating.

Now I have started taking colmid tablets(50g) and this is my 1st cycle and day 17 2day. I have 2 follices grown on my left side ovary but still not ovulated yet. My right ovary was quite but now 1 follice started to grow. Nurse told me that I have 2 wait until next cycle & then they will give me hcg drug to trigger the egg.

Does anyone have same problem as me?
Which food can increase da ovaulation?
Can you help????.....
Marcey - <big hugs> and they are all perfectly normal feelings. I was exactly the same. I felt like I had failed as a woman and a wife. I thought I was jinxed that the one most natural thing in the world I couldn't do. The problem is, it becomes a vicious circle, the more you feel like that, the more you will act strangely which in turn will and we have to be honest it does do things to our relationships but that is to be expected. My best advice would be to sit your husband down and talk about it. There is nothing worse than it building up inside you (trust me). My second advice is to do what I did at the point when I had given up all hope; I relaxed. (even left my job as a solicitor) I took time out from calculating, noting every change in my body etc.. (you know what I mean?), i did some acunpuncture, DH and i went away for a long weekend and made it about us not about making babies, we drank copius amounts of alcohol (which ordinarily i wouldn't, esp not whilst trying to conceive) and you never guess what; I fell pregnant (we think we conceived on Valentines night!!). Life is sometimes crap to us, but you have to battle through and remember your husband married you because he loves you NOT because he saw you as a baby making machine!

My baby is a miracle, I have severe endometriosis and endometriomas, i don't ovulate and my husband had a vasectomy some 15 years ago and had it reversed 1 year ago when we were told he only had 33% good ones. I was told my a professor of IVF that I would never conceive naturally.

I really do know how you feel, but I also now know that I could never have imagined being pregnant and thought it just wasn't meant to be, alas I am pregnant and have 10 weeks left and every single day I thank god for our miracle. Just think, when it does happen, how special that little person will be to you and your DH.

How many rounds of clomid have you been on?

I wish you all the luck in the world but remember babies are not made when mummies are stressed!!!! RELAX, take time out and you never know what could happen!

Hiya Little Star, my first attempt at 50mg failed and the specialist made me do a pregnancy test, when he confirmed it was negative he sent me home with a double prescription.
I took them as advised and that started my cycle off, although it was always long like 38-40 days, used to go for bloods on day 28.
I was successful on my 6th cycle.

Lots and Lots of Baby Dust to you all. smile

Hi Girls,

Hope everone is doing well? A big welcome to all the newbies wink

Well after my first round of clomid 50mg no ovulation and no AF (my periods have always been irregular, once or twice a year)my progesterone was 1.2 at day 22. I had app with gyno on day 30 and my blood was taken again, i was advised advised if my progesterone came back low i could start to take Clomid double the dose at 100g...i checked my results yesterday and apparently progesterone was less than one I was hoping that I might have just had a longer cycle but I guess not...am a bit concerened that I have been advised to take the clomid without an induced bleed...has anyone else done this?

Baby dust to us all
Morning Ladies,

I have to wait at least 3 days for my results, they do give me mine over the phone most of the time for other stuff so i would imagine they would for this too, they did when i was at 1.2 anyway.

On second day of second course and i have a headache and a period pain but other than that i am doing ok, feeling a lot more cheerful about things and realised that i should not get me hopes up but it is hard not to.

Peju thats great news, im doing mine 3- 7 this month too as i only got the all clear tyesterday.

Chelle thats great news about ovulating, i hope this month is the month for you

Hi kjbrookie
God only knows what all these aches and pains are! I thought I was ovulating all over the place on my last cycle going off the symptoms last time. I had all sorts of thoughts about twins and triplets but still had a BFN at the end of it all. So I haven't got a clue whats going on and when, just keep hoping for the best. You're right about men though, the only thing my DP worries about his golf swing!!

Hi girls

How is everyone feeling today?

I'm having an ok day today and I'm still not getting any severe side effects this time round (on clomid cycle 2). Just a mild headache every now and then, some funny feelings in the important areas and the hot flushes (cardie on cardie off!!). However, I have noticed extremes in my moods. I'm having lots of days were I'm unbelievably happy and chatty (which is a good side effect!) and then a one off days were i'm snappy and generally a bit miserable. I'm glad the good moods outweigh the bad which i thought might be the other way round when i read that mood swings are a side effect. But when it's a good day it really is a big high, does anyone else have these extreme changes in mood?

With regards to vitamins, I used to take Pregnacare until I discovered that Boots do their own version which is exactly the same only cheaper. The ones I'm taking at the moment is Boots Pregnancy 'Mum to Be Plus' which contain all the important nutrients such as Folic Acid but also Omega 3 and Ginger. Not all pregnancy vitamins contain Omega 3 but it's important for the development of baby's eyes and brain so you need to check the nutritional info list on the back of the box. The Ginger is good for morning sickness... I'm just hoping I get to that stage!! I'm with you kjbrookie.. fingers (not legs!!) crossed!!

Take care everyone and good luck!

Vikks - the lady i am seeing said to begin with once a week, and hope to try and catch around ovulation, after the first month then down to every 2 weeks and then monthly - so only costly to begin with really but worth every penny if its gonna work and get results! I find it really relaxing.
GemmaLuisa - I am the same with these OPK tests but have been told by others that they dont respond well to people on clomid - i still do them though as I got a load from ebay for not much money (£9 for 30 tests) so no harm trying. Last month on one day only I got a very strong line!!!! still didnt manange pg though so got everything crossed this month apart from the old legs LOL!
Does anybody take 'pregnacare' vitamins, i am just awaiting mine to arrive to begin them - so this month i am vitamin'ing' and acupuncture'ing' - god loves a trier!!!! love to all kjbrookie xx

Hi again everyone,

Yeah I paid £35 for acupuncture too, I live in Bournemouth. Even though it didn't work first time round I think i'll give it a go again, even if the doc won't repeat the clomid it just might stimulate something! I actually love acupuncture and find it really relaxing, but that might just be me!

Just a quick question, do ovulation kits really work? Been buying clearblue and there's been a faint line next to that dark control line, that means "no surge" for the past 4 days. This morning, there was no faint line at all, and I'm on day 14. Does the faint line mean anything or does it have to be dark?

Fingers crossed for you Giselle, sore boobs may be good news?!?

Hi Vikks - no honestly I never felt a thing and if i am honest i was shitting myself!!!! They are sooooo tiny the needles they couldnt hurt. I live just outside Reading in Berks and I am paying £35 a session too, think thats the price it is everywhere! Although as i mentioned about my first session it should be about 2hrs with the first hour or more talking about yourself. (I only paid £35 for this session too). So I am back on Wed as it will be day 10 and then the following Wed which will be day 17 - to try and catch me over ovulation or there about at least! So go for it you REALLY dont feel anything! kjbrookie xx

Hi Girls,
All this talk about acupuncture has made me curious, I think I'm gonna give it a whirl. My husband just laughed when I told him, he thinks it's a load of crap! So of course I'm defiantly doing it now. There's a place around the corner from my house and I never knew, I think they charge £35 for an hour. It dosen't seem a lot compared to all the other fertility treatment costs. The only problems is I hate needles! kjbookie was it at all painful? I'm a real wimp but we'll try anything right?!

I am devastated, woke up to AF today and I am only on day 21?? whats happening? I am guessing this obviously means I havent ovualted as it would have been right now. So disappointed I have been crying most of today!

Just got back from my first session of acupuncture and it was fine! The first hour and half was spent talking about myself and my life really from puberty. I then had just 6 needles today to start with, then back Wed for another session then the following Wed so will hopefully catch me during ovulation. Don't feel any different yet but dont suppose i will first time - it was good though and nice to talk out loud about things! hi everyone. thanks all for your support and saying i can still be part of this thread. AF is finally subsiding, so today im going to begin taking pregnacare instead of just folic acid, my husband is taking salenium, vit c & e, and from other thing ive read im going to start drinking greatfruit juice. I think i might also take up standing on my head again, even if it doesnt work it gives dh a laugh. Well its all worth ago if my gynea wont give me clomid.
I dont think im going to seek a second opinion as my consultant is both a collegue and a friend so i would feel like i was going against her.
Think i finally sorted things with my sister in law to which should hopefully bring my stress levels down.

Hi Angel,

Bummer - im in a pickle myself - after my doc told me to lower my dose from 100mg to 50mg which i did - my 21 day bloods came back at 4.2 as opposed to 109 when i was on a 100mg. Because i haven't ovulated, i now have to go through the process of inducing my bleed which means taking tablets for five days, waiting up to seven for period to come and then i can kick start 3rd cycle. My gyne has put me back up to 100mg.

Feel so p**d off with the whole thing - i cried my eyes on last thursday when they told me, nearly had to go home from work.

hi again everyone and thanks for your advice so far jonahsgirl, pixistar and Vikks.
I ended up at A&E last night having a check up of my eyes on doctors orders due to my vision problems and now painful left eye, and I was told to stop clomid straight away but seeing as I've finished it they arranged for me to see the gynae again next week. I'm gutted as if I stop taking clomid I don't know any other way of strating ovulation without hormones? I'll try anything!
marcy08 fingers crossed for you
pixistar that sounds promising that they'll increase your dose to 100mg, and jonahsgirl that's great you're not having the side effects this time. Did the doc check either of your eyes? It seems a weird side effect to be related to an ovulation drug? xx

Hello everyone

Whilst we're all talkin about acupuncture I just thought I'd mention another alternative for those who have a needle phobia like sarashy. It's called Bowen Therapy and apparently it's got quite a good success rate for infertility problems. It's a hands on massage technique, that doesn't involve needles, which helps to trigger the bodies own healing mechanism. I had heard of it before when a friend had it for a back injury, she had been to various different physios and chiropractors with no joy, but had one session with a Bowen Therapist and was cured. However I didn't know it could be used for fertility problems til now as a result of doing a bit a research. It might be worth looking into that as well for all of us as it may be a cheaper alternative as well.

Hi Everyone,

Hope your all doing ok.

I just wanted to comment on GemmaLuisa's post. On my first round of clomid I had quite bad blurry vision. Spoke to my clinic yesterday & have told them about this. On the instruction leaflet it does give you a list of side effects that should be reported to your care provider. Blurry vision being one of them. I would recommend that you do tell them as they need to be aware. I told mine about it. It was quite bad towards the end of taking the meds but got better after I stopped & is back to normal now smile. They have agreed to increase my dosage to 100mg from 50mg, but have said if the vision gets any worse whilst taking that amount then I need to call them for further advise.

Sarashy - I'm really sorry to hear about your news. It would be great if you stay in touch. After all were all in the same boat on clomid or not.

In response to your posts about acupuncture. I must admit that I have not had acupuncture for fertility reasons. However when I was 18 I was pulled in to this chinese herbalist place by a chinese thereapist. He offered to five me a free acupressure session. Whilst giving me this treatment he did tell me that I had a hormone imbalance. That was before I ever had even thought of having kids. Didn't think any thing of it at the time..... until now hmm.
By the way acupuncture does not hurt at all smile

I'm hoping AF will come soon. can feel the signs of the curse. I'm kind of dissapointed, then again I'm quite pleased because that means I can get on with round 2. So many mixed emotions at the moment. One second I'm all happy happy happy, the next second I'm absolutltly horrible. Don't know where I'm at. Feel one of the seven dwafs but can't decide what name I am?? My DH keeps calling me his little nest of vipers grin Actually I'm not sure if that winds me up even more??? MEN!
kjbrookie,

oh thats great thank you, I've been reading up about it this morning and I am determined to start but i cant seem to find any good ones near me, I will look a little further a field and see what there is out there. sounds very graphic to be honest but if it helps get us pregnant I will tell them anything they ask!

I am on day 21 of my cycle tomorrow but as I normally have longer cycles my bloods are being done monday morning, I feel funny today, kind of periody but not if you know what I mean, funny goings on in my abdomen which I guess is from the Clomid!

The sleeping does get a little better although you will find it much harder to wake up in the mornings, I could have an aeroplane go past my face without even a stir from me!!

Morning all!
skates77 - I start acupuncture tomorrow, i have had a 20min consultation already and tomorrow it starts! Its for 2hrs my first visit, the 1st hr spent talking about yourself and your history (incl everything, even the colour of your pooh and period blood! sorry for graphicness!) the therapist then arranges your programme to suit all of this. My second hour is the actual needle session which she showed me on my first consultation - they are SO tiny and to be honest that thin they surely cant hurt! I am really lookin to starting it as I have read alot of postive things about it also, I have the Zita West guide to getting pg and she totally recommends it! That'll do for me - The session cost £35 and I start weekly to begin with so Sat, then on and around ovulation etc, etc then goes down to twice weekly then monthly until no longer required. Although its good to do whilst pg too apparently! So thats what i can tell you. I will log on tomorrow if you like and tell you how it went and how i am feelin. I am on day 5 of clomid at the mo, having hot flushes, not sleeping, headaches and generally hormonal - the therapist thinks she can deal with all of these symptons! To be totally honest I hope so as I feel so pants about it all at the moment. My office is like a rabbit warren! one lot go off to have babies and the next lot start.........GRRRREAT! XX
Morning Ladies,

Yes babies are everywhere, I am going to be an auntie in the next couple of days and currently there are 6 pregnant ladies that i work with and your right they do all tip toe aroudn you. I am not some mad woman that will steal your baby or cry at the thought of you having a baby and not me (not in front of any of them at least!)

I ahve decided I am going to ahve accupuncture but not sure if i should ahve it around when i ovulate? anyone?

I feel as if the world has just been dropped onto my shoulders, my partners mum recently dianosed with liver cancer has been told that chemo would be too dangerous for her as she already has MS so they are sending her home to be more comfortable and we have all been warned that she wont make it til christmas this is upsetting enough but now DP has said he would really like us to get pregnant before the inevitable happens so that his mum can see that we are making the most of life. No pressure though!!

Baby dust to all

Hi Everyone, I'm back. Welcome Newbies.

Still waiting to start my 100mg and definatly not pregnant!
GemmaLuisa, I'm with you! Everyone seems to be popping out babies. One of my very good friends has just told me today she expecting, I'm very happy for her but she said she was apprehensive about telling me. My friend must think I'm gonna turn into a crazy woman if I hear the word 'baby'! I might if they don't stop tip-toeing around me.

Baby dust sprinklings to all!

Hi GemmaLuisa I know what you mean when everyone around you is having babies left right and centre!! There are 3 girls at work all pregnant at the moment and it makes me feel really frustated watching their bumps growing every day!
Your side effects seem a bit worrying though, especially the hallucinations. I'd check with your doctor just to make sure everythings ok. During my first cycle on clomid I noticed slightly blurry vision but it didn't last very long and some insomnia too. I also had cramps and all sorts of aches and pains in my lower tummy but the worse was the haedaches. I'm on day 10 of my 2nd cycle and up to now I don't seem to being getting any side effects at all yet.

hi everyone, new to this thread, it's so good to speak to others in the same boat as it's so frustrating all my friends keep popping out babies!! been on the POP for 10 years and stopped it over 2.5 years ago to TTC and have not had a period or ovulated since so finally doc has put me on clomid days 2-6 but as I don't have periods I took it straight away, no monitoring by gynae for me!!? finished 1st course 5 days ago, keep having really bad hallucinations and double vision and I've heard this means i'm allergic to clomid? Does anyone else have the same side effects? Have had insomnia and cramps too which is fine but the vision thing is scary. All the success stories are great to hear, but clearly it's not a wonder drug for all though so won't hold my breath. I've tried acupuncture, it didn't work for me with ovulation but my friend did it with IVF and it worked 1st time, well worth a go!

Hi again.
Forgot to say a few things.
wishinanhopin We were told definately not to have sex every day because it reduces the quality of the sperm. However, we went on holiday for a week and forgot about the every other day rule (too much sun and sangria!!), so when we got home we did it every other day for the rest of my cycle and it still didn't work. Because I haven't got a clue when I'm gonna ovulate it's really hard to get the timing right. I was thinkin maybe I ovulated on holiday but because of the daily sex the quality of the sperm wasn't great as the reason it never worked. So this time we're stickin to the rule! We're not drinking as well to see if that helps! Also I've read that it's probably a good idea to give up caffeine too, has anyone else heard this too?
littlestar08 I'm not sure about your question I always thought that you needed to be on AF before you could start taking the tablets but I really don't know.
Welcome kjbrookie I'm new to this thread too.
Keep in touch sarashy
Speak soon and take care everyone xx

Hello everyone.
Hope your all well. Was so sorry to hear your news sarashy, but if I were you I'd ask for a second opinion. Judging by everyones stories it seems that all doctors are different in what they believe in and what guidelines to follow so it might be worth a try. You said that you were worried about taking clomid without being monitored but I was given 3 cycles worth from a fertility clinic then they discharged us from their department and referred us to the IVF clinic, so I haven't been monitored at all by anyone so it must be ok too. Glad your DH has come round to the idea of IVF so you've always got that to look forward to despite the waiting list. However, waiting list times are just an estimate and it could be much sooner than 3 years. We were told our waitng list time was 6 months but we recieved an appt 1 month later so you never know.
I've been thinking about acupuncture as well but I don't know anything about it, so I'll do some research and get back to you all.

Thanks girls.
feeling a little better today although still quite down about it all.
Dont think i could go for the acupuncture thing as im scared to death of needles. Dont know about buying clomid online as i wouldnt be monitored properly and i dont think my gynea consultant would be to happy about it. if i did succeed that way id be scared she'd know.
DH after long talks last night has finally come round to the idea of being on the ivf waiting list. (which cheered me up slightly as it gives me a little hope that one day it might happen.
MWMUM - what happened to your cousin is what im hoping for to, that it wont go as far as ivf and being on it will help me relax.

Ill think about the clomid thing, but i think ill give it up as a lost cause.

If nobody minds i would still like to be part of this thread and hopefully support some of you through your clomid trails.

big big big bags full of baby dust to everyone. itll hopefully happen for uss all one day

Hi girls
Well i really want to join in because i am feeling really negative at the mo!
Let me tell you abit about me.....I am 37 and been married for 15yrs. We lived in Germany as DH was in the army and we started ttc not long after being married. I was put on clomid (10yrs ago) due to PCOS and ovulating i also had on blocked tube! I did however fall pg. When I went for my 12wk scan, the baby had died at 9wks so I had a D&C. Since then to this date, i blocked it all out and we got on with our lives! Just over 3 months ago, I took a look at our lives realised we were getting on in life and thought SHIT best think about a baby again! Easier said than done! Well I am now back on the old faithful clomid after my first cycle of 50mg, i had one lovely folly ready to pop, good blood and had ovulated. No pg though! 2nd month is my month i promised - period was late, got all my hopes raised, sympton spotting (as you do) but hey the bitch arrived last Sun! I am now on CD5 and day 4 of clomid. I start acupunture on Sat, i just wish i could feel positive but you know when you have that feeling deep down when you want something that it just wont happen - I just cant shift it! I am emotional, addicted to these websites/forums and they always make me feel abit hopeful, especially when you read a thread with an identical story and a positive outcome! Sorry for going on, but it makes things easier telling your story when you want to join in! I need some positive digs and my hopes back raised! thanks girls love to all kjbrookie xx

Hi Girls,

I haven't been able to come on computer for few days...firstly just wanted to say stay positive and hopefully it will happen soon...

I had my appointment on Tuesday and because in my first clomid cycle on the 50mg my 21 day progesterone was 1.2 the gyno has decided to put the dose up to 100g...i had another blood test and will start the 100g once i have recieved the result from Tuesdays blood test.

A question I had is that I havent had my AF this month and rarely do, the gyno advised to take the clomid whenever i want without AF...does this seem ok? last time i was given progesterone tablets to induce the bleed...

You know the amount I have read upon clomid am sure I could prob giv my gyno a run 4 her money...I feel fresh again and put the last cycle behind me...

Sackfulls of babydust to all XxX
skates i started acupuncture a few days before I started the tablets. IT wasn't particularly planned like that however it certainly worked! I went every week for the first 7 weeks. I think my sessions cost £30. Which does get expensive BUT i was at teh stage of doing anything...
Oh Sarashy just had a thiught, my first gp wouldnt give me Clomid because he himself does not prescribe it so i had to see another gp at the same surgery, maybe try seeing a different gp??

xx
Morning Ladies,

I am also thinking about starting accupunture but not sure if it is expensive and also wouldnt know the best time to have it done?! anyone got any ideas?

Sarashy I recommend getting some Clomid online too, doctors can be irritating sometimes and no amount of relaxing is going to make you pregnant if there is something that isnt right in there, only a woman can truly feel is something is going on inside.

Today i am having flutters in my bladder/womb, feels strange, also when i cough i feel different in there, anyone else? think it might just be another glorious side effect!!

Love to all xxxxxxxxx
sarashy That is terrible. I don't have PCOS either but I was put on it as if you have had proof (i.e. blood tests) that you do not ovulate properly this is what Clomid is for! It is more dangerous for PCOS sufferers to be on it so you should be allowed. I would fight for it, it is your right!!! Was that a specialist you saw or your gp?

Im just after some advice I am going to start acupunture to see if that helps, but when is the best time to do it?, do you have done around the time you ouvulate or before or after, may be a daft question but does anyone know?

Thanks for the tip jonahsgirl. I'm a bit confused and stressed, as I'm sure all the ladies on this site are LOL!! I haven't had a period since going off the BC pill, so all this talk about what day in the cycle to start taking it is lost on me. My Doctor was pretty vague about the whole thing, and had the attitude of "well everyone's different" just relax and make love and see what happens....HELLO, you can't say relax to someone who is trying so hard to conceive. But from what I'm reading it is anywhere from 4-9 days after the last pill, so I guss we'll give it the old college try after that. Also a question to throw out there which may sound totally stipid, but I've heard that the quality and quantity of a man's sperm count goes down with requar daily sex, and you should try to get your timing right.
Thanks Girls LOVE this site and the kind supportive posts

Hi new peeps!

Sarashy don't give up my mum was told the same thing....clearly not accurate! My cousin fell pregnant whilst waiting for IVF twice over so you never know. I keep hearing acupuncture is great. I used reflexology when trying for DD and think it helped but it is very expensive if you use a professional. There are a lot of success stories out there but of course they're not normally the people scouring these sites to be able to share so thanks to Pinkali and Amanda!
I'm waiting for round 3 going up to 100mg so now all I need is start AF.

well today has to be the worse day of all and i suppose i no longer qualify to write on this thread any more. went to see my consultant this morning and she has refused to start me on clomid as i dont have pcos and there is no evidence that it improves fertility (apparently). So we've been put on the ivf waiting list for the next 3 yrs. which dh isnt to happy about as he doesnt want it he says its impersonal. Am i being unreasonable to think that if this is the only way then we should give it a go???sad
I now feel like thats it. no where else to go, no baby for me.

I know exactly how you feel skates77, the worse thing about these tablets is that they do make you think you're pregnant with all the side effects. Because I'm not having follow ups with blood tests or scans I haven't a clue whats going on so last time I did a test on day 30 then again on day 35, both bfn, then got af day 37. I've got a feeling I'm gonna be spendin alot of money on pregnancy tests!!
Let us know how you get on at the doctors peju25
Take care everyone xx
Hi Peju I think you will be ok, I have to take mine days 2-6 but I think I am in the minority. I recommend you go to the surgery first thing and see what they say, if they cant offer you an appointment ask to have a phone consultation with the doctor, this is what i did and crying like a baby down the phone worked because my prescription was waiting for me.

I havent had a scan but had a blood test, if you call your surgery and just request a hormone blood test they will do it without the doctors having to know.

I got messed around for so many years with my doctors that I now realise the only way to get anything done is to be forceful with them!

Jonahsgirl this is my first cycle of Clomid and my 21 day bloods are booked for monday and my god this has been a long month! feel pregnant but i know this is just the side effects as i wouldnt feel anything this soon although i have been very tempted to do a test i need to wait and find out my blood results.

Have a nice evening everyone and baby dust to all

Happy baby making!!

Also all hospitals and doctors have different routines and protocols, I had to have loads of blood tests, an ultrsound scan and a hycosy exam all before I was given clomid, whereas some people don't. I think your GP is just being cautious which I suppose is a good thing but I know how you feel peju25 the waiting is just horrible.

Hi peju25
I was told to take my clomid on day 2 to day 6 but this can vary and some people have taken it on day 5 to day 9 so if you get a prescription for some on fri you should be ok. I don't think the doctors work it out on an individual basis but it's just what they prefer. probably depending on which research they have read up on or the most recent NICE guidelines.
Hello

I was told by my consultant to take it days 2-6. Also I never had a scan before i started to take it, so it depends on your Gp..

Hi all just hoping you can HELP!! with a bit of info! Got a letter from doc saying they had heard from hospital (meant to be having a scan before going on clomid) to say they dont do these as routine for primary infertility. Spoke to doc and she wants to sort it out and make sure ok to put me on clomid without ultrasound - been waiting wekk n half for her to get back to me now. Problem is i have come on today and really dont want to have to wait another 6 weeks for next af before starting. Couldnt get appointment with doc till friday 5pm to speak to her but if i get her to prescribe it will i still be on time to start taking it this cycle?? I know it seems some of you start it on different days of cycle - how is it worked out what days you take it??? Sorry to rant but im getting bit impatient with these docs as went first of all nearly 3 months ago now!! Please help!!

Hi Skates77 and thanks, it's going to be lovely talkin to you all and sharin our stories. I'm hopin it will make the waitin more bearable, as my last cycle, which was the first one on clomid, felt like the longest month ever!! I suppose I built my hopes up to much thinking it would work first time and was countin down the days til I could do a pregnancy test.
Hi wishinanhopin, I'm new to the site too. I have irregular periods also, my cycle can be anythin from 33 to 47 days so it's really hard for me to know when I'm ovulating. I've read that most women ovulate about 5 to 9 days after taking your last clomid tablet but our doctor just told us to have sex every other day for the whole of my cycle, which is rather exhausting and is easier said than done! (not that DP is complaining!!).

Hello

I keep looking at this thread because I was in your position last year. I feel for you all and the basic truth of it, is it is HELL and unless someone is in the same situation they DO NOT understand! Anyway, I am only poking my head in to say it can happen and it did to me! I was onmy 3rd round of clomid. first 2 months I didn't ovulate with results of 1.0 (so hey you lot beat me), then on my 3rd month I got a 67 and voila i'm pregnant and due November. I am merely telling you all this because I know how heart breaking it is. I was told I would never conceive naturally and my whole world fell in. I have severe endometriosis and I felt like a complete failure. I really do wish you all luck. My only tip is and was that I started acupuncture the 3rd month when I got pregnant and the one thing it did for me was allowed me to relax and what the guy was saying about making my womb fertile liek the soil on a veg plot started to actually make sense.

Good Luck xxx From a clomid success story (just looked at the thread title).

Hey all!
I'm new to this site. I just stumbled upon you lovely ladies when I did a cold search on clomid after my doctor suggusted I may want to start on it.I'm 28 with no children, and have been TTC for 2 years. I rarely have periods, and had a ultrasound that proved all is in working order. So we've determined I'm not ovulating regularly and need some help.
So I start clomid tomorrow 50mg. I'm a bit unsure about the whole timing thing. Does everyone ovulate at different times on this drug? Is there an optimal time to ttc??
Welcome Jonahsgirl, always nice to see someone else has the same problems as us all.

Haylz that is terrible, thats what my level was before I started Clomid. Lets hope af hurries up so you can get on the next round. chin up xx

Pixistar i totally agree with you, men dont get it do they? my boyfriend understands a little better now but thats only due to me having an enormous tantrum about his sister and sister in law falling within a month of coming off the pill and both of them finding it hard to make a decision! they both chose to keep the babies and as much as I love them I cant help but think that it isnt fair!

Marcy08 one of my friends gave birth to twins yesterday and as much as i am so very happy for her i couldnt help but think maybe she should give me one?!! think i am just being hormonal!

Hello everyone,
Hope it's ok for someone new to join in your forum, would love to chat to you all knowing ur all going through the same things as me. We've been ttc for a couple of years and had all the investigations done which ended up with the diagnosis of unexplained infertility. I was given 3 cycles worth of clomid and referred to the IVF clinic (because I'm 35 they didn't want to wait too long before trying IVF). It didn't work in the first cycle and I'm now on day 9 of my second cycle (finished my clomid a few days ago). I had all the usual side effects but the worst was the headaches and my reproductive system felt like it was in overdrive! Not got the headaches this time up to now (but i'm taking painkillers at the moment cause I broke my big toe! so thats probably why!). I was a bit worried after reading some of ur stories on here cause I wasn't followed up with scans or blood tests was just given the clomid but we have to go to an open evening all about IVF on the 17th Sept so I'll ask about those then. Here's hoping the clomid works before we have to go down the IVF route. Best of luck to you all x

Hi All,

I'm feeling a bit down today sad
Af is late, nothing unusual there angry. Did a test I'm not pregnant. I know that for sure now because I rang my clinic for my 21 results. My progersterone level is only 2 - so I did not ovulate. I knew that any way because I have not felt any different, what so ever this month. They have said that if I don't come on by Monday then I need to call, so they can induce my af and will then up my clomid to 100mg hmm

I'm sick of my DH saying it will be ok, It'll happen. All right from him he already has a kid from a previous relationship! That does not make me feel any better. If any thing it makes me feel all the more desperate envy
hi girls
well i think its a defo i aint preggy cause gyno rang and said my blood result was only 1.2 and last month it was 12.9 so dont understand how it can drop that much even tho i upped my dose 2 100mg. just waiting 4 af 2 come so i can start round 5.

Hi girls!

It's such a bummer when you get excited even though you know you shouldn't then it turns out it's negative. People seem so insensitive but unless you've been there you don't really get it...and to be honest having had one already you do forget a bit. I fell pregnant a 2nd time straihgt off the pill but m/cd at 9 weeks. Still not conceived again a year later and ALL my postnatal group are either very preg or just had another so feel like fat freak at the min.
Haylz - is there any chance the blood test for Ov could've been taken too early (ie you have a longer cycle?) My doc has told me if day21 bloods neg to keep coming back at 28 and 35 incase I ov late?

Hi Skates77.

I totally agree with you i know peole mean well when they say relax and let it happen but its not that easy, My sister in law has just got pregnant again for the fourth time and wasnt even planned, instead of been happy for her i just cried, she did not want anymore children.
Us girls would give anything for a baby, lets support each other cause at least we now how the other feels.

Take care

Marcy xxx
thx girls.
rang my gyno earlier and she cant beleive my doc didnt take a test, dont no wat my result was but as soon she receives them she will give me a ring bk 2 put my mind at rest. just put cranberrys on and done my house wrk. gonna sit down with my dog now am feeling a bit better.

will update u all xx

fatfarm my 2 hpt showed a faint pos but not sure of my blood. good luck xx
Oh Haylz I am sorry to hear that. its always so disheartening isnt it. I had another person tell me to relax and it will just happen today, I could have smacked her! People dont understand how upsetting it is not to get pregnant as easily as everyone else.

What were your levels? when i was tested before going on Clomid mine were 1.2, I go for my bloods on 1st september so am hoping they will be higher then.

put some sad music on and sing your heart out, it always makes me feel so better.

good luck honey xxx

Hi haylz

Am on the second clomid, in my first cycle I though I was pg, I had all the signs, mild backache, frequent urinating, sore bubs, tiredness... I was so sure since my blood test showed I had ova, I did several tests nothing, when they came I was so sad and depressed.

Am sorry and I know it hurts badly..just be hopeful for God will give you, your perfect baby, and pray always for the medicine to work perfectly and to bring the desired results
hi skates
im typing here thro my tears.
had another faint pos but went 2 doca this mornin and my bloods show that i didnt even ova so i cant be. gotta wait 10 days now and if af dont come i gotta do another. the doc said i had false pos. im so gutted cant stop crying.
will keep u posted tho

gd luck 2 every1 xxxx
Haylz,

Did you do another test???

xx
Hi Giselle,

Yes I have had the dull ache at the front too, thought it was just me leavin it too long to wee!

I feel totally different today though, almost normal which I am guessing means that I am not pregnant this month, I am booked in for my bloods on 1st September, so hopefully I will have ovulated. Although I dont know if I would rather not ovulate or ovulate and have no pregnancy? its strange to think what might be going on inside!

My friend is being induced with her twins today so at least i will be an auntie by the end of the day which is making me very happy right now.

Baby dust and love to all xxx

Hi Girls,

Hope everyone is well, Im due on my period in about a week , finished first round of clomid two weeks ago, and for the last week or so i have suffered with really bad backache, only time i normally get back ache is if i have lifted anything heavy, very unusual for me, can clomid give you back ache, its really bad, and im so emotional too, i cry at anything.

Sending lots of baby dust to you all.

Hi all!

Debz - that sounds nasty! I sometimes think my body's having a laugh too! grin

Sarashy - sorry you're back at the top of the old rollercoaster again. Drives you mad eh?!

littlestar - know what you mean, I always spend my 2 week wait glued to websites reading anout early pregnancy symptoms even tho I could recite them back!

On a higher note, I can honestly say I know lots of people who have really struggled to conceive but barely any that have not got there in the end. Let's try and keep each other sane over however log it takes! wink

I'm so sick of piling on weight thru PCOS seeing as only remedy is the pill LOL!
most annoying thing is I now look bllody pregnant thanks to my crazy hormones!

Hi ladies,

Ive been away most of this week, been off sick with Tonsilitis!

I have been feeling pregnant all week but I know I'm not as its too early so it must just be the side effects.

Congratulations cheekymonkey, lets hope you are the first of many of us to have bundles of joy.

Giselle - How exciting, get at it and dont let your husband out of your sight. get those pillows ready for afterwards, dont give them little blighters any chance of getting away!!

this was my first round of clomid 50mg i had my blood done on day 22 coz day 21 was a sunday, i dont know if this makes a difference though?

I know this may sound crazy but a had pains in stomach around day 21 and felt I o'd but i guess i was wrong...

Am not handling things at all i started crying bout three times yesterday 4 no reason...the worst one was the last time wen v went to bed...i was overcome with emotion in the middle of making love...my mind just started thinkin whats the point if i cant have children...DH was a dianmond though...i guess i just need to relax?

Goodluck and loads of baby dust to all...

forgot to say Bad Bad thing happened today though. i got a needle stick injury off a dirty needle at work, and have been told not to have unprotected sex untill i get the all clear and that if i am pg then ill have to start on profalatic drugs. which could harm the baby. still hopefully low risk n theyll rush the results through, but im still pooing myself.

Hi all,
I decided I'd better join in rather than just keep snooping! I'm 30,have PCOS and am currently taking progesterone to force a period before using 100mg of Clomid as 50 mg didn't work on 2nd round. I also take metformin to help with PCOS but in my experience it's not that useful! I really felt I should respond to you giselle - I was on clomid before my DD in 2004. It didn't actually work then but ovarian drilling did. Anyway, when I was having scans the nurse (yes the NURSE) had the cheek to tell me that she had PCOS and not to bother with treatment cos it doesn't work and I should adopt like her. I was devastated and on reflection should have reported her. Anyway, she also conducted my 12 week scan a few months later which I thought was probably humbling enough although I don't suppose she meant any harm her words cut deep at the time. Don't listen!!!

hey littlestar thanks for your good luck wishes. Af hasnt arrived but did a test this morning as was a bfn. keeping my fingers crossed its to early to tell. But also could be a good thing if not pg that af is late, as my gynae app is next wed and would have been to late to start my first round of clomid if i had started today. so still keeping my fingers crossed.
And dont worry about the blood results till its explained to you. i had a major stress cause my oestrogen levels where low when i got my results and indicated id hit menopause i was well gutted. Me and Dh even started talking about adoption. Was glad i went to see the dr who reassured me.

Congrats Haylz lets hope that libe gets stronger.

fingers crossed and baby dust to all.

Littlestar08 - why dont you call your doc/consultant and ask them what going on it will put your mind at rest - from what i have read this does sound low but you would need to speak to doc and maybe get put on higher dose - dont give up though strange things happen and maybe you could have ovulated later than 21 days if you have been really irregular before??

Hey Giselle...

dont lose hope its true clomid does not work for everone but every1s circumstances are different...relax and take it all in your stride, try not to think about it too much!

About your personal question my DH cracked a joke about it bein such a job and were only on our first cycle... its sad coz it does start to put you of...also me and DH were arguing a few days before and i was desperate to make up with him because i knew we had a job to do....there are so many restrictions and time limits and then u get the teenagers who have unprotected sex once and get pregnant and abort there babies...

lets all promise to be positive and be there for eachother...

Mornin littlestar. I dont test for a few weeks. My last period was 5 waeeks and one day so that makes my test time around the 11th of sept. The week before tho im on holiday so im hopin il get caught then when im all relaxed..... or tryin to relax haha. Can i ask a personal question tot he girls? Last night i ... i mean me and the DH had the most un loving sex ever. Its only to get the sperm from p[oint A (which id him) to point B (which is me) I can help but feel this is an awful way to concieve.

Was upset last night aswell coz someone who has had failed attempts a gettin pregnant or M/C told me that clomid doesn't work and there is no point me going on it. Was devasted.... this seemed like my last hope and because it didnt work for her she was trying to dapen my spirits. I thought it was nasty coz if ur really tryin to concieve you know what heart ache you go through and she didnt have a care in the workd what her words were doing to me. I felt like sayin she should come on mumsnet and have a look at the fabulous women on there that have had babies with clomid.
Sorry for the morbid text... it just upset me. Bucket loads of baby dust to all xxxxxxx

I cant explain how it feels letting of steam on here..before i was takin it out on DH who has been less then impressed...

The situation is sad coz even DH doesnt seem to understand the emotional strain i am under...he cracked a joke about me going through puberty and i put phone down on him coz i hurt and i thought he was having a dig at me...

vikks- thanks for the goodluck, hopefully i may have some good news to share but i dont really feel any different. The sad thing is because i have not had that many periods i am quite unsure of the symptoms i get before i start them so dont know what preggy symptoms will feel like I always wished i could be one of those ppl who dont even realise there preggy and baby pops out out of nowhere haha!

Who else is waiting to test and when?
Hi Everyone,
I think I may be coming obsessive about ovulation tests and temperature taking! Tell me I'm not the only one. My Doc has told me not to take my temp but I can't stop, I've been doing it for 15 months. Maybe I'll stop when I start ovulating. Come on Clomid! Third time lucky?

Wallacex- 109 Wow! Were you put straight on to 100mg? I thought everyone went on 50 to start with.

littlestar- I feel your frustration, good luck for Monday. I agree totally with what you were saying about waiting time and trying to get appointments. My husband and I were so pissed off we've gone private, it's outrageously expensive but I don't think I could have coped with another secretary tell me I'll have to wait 6-8 weeks! Nobody understands how consuming and heart breaking this period of my life is. Thank God for all the ladies here x

Hi Peju it took 3 months for me to get a HSG scan with the dye. I had already been given the clomid but was told to wait till after my scan before starting it. I was told there is no point in starting incase there was any blockages which can cause an eptopic pregnancy as much as I was very fustrated and also p*ed off I had to look at this realisticley for safety reasons. Also these tests arnt run regularly and have to be at a certain time of the month. I feel for you. I have taken my first month of clomid and going for bloods next Tuesday, lets hope for the best. Congrats Cheekymonkey. Baby dust all round

The tests are so annoying, frustrating and draining...then the other thing is things seem to move toooooooo slow...for example appointments every 3-6months even if it is just for results of blood test...

I feel 4 you....I always hoped i could fast forward hmm

Hi Ladies,

Cheekymonkey - a huge congratulations - well done indeed!

Vikks - you are correct, you should ovulate between 30 and 70. On 100mg my ovulation was 109 - so my dose has been reduced for that reason - don't feel much different though and am not holding out much hope.

Littlestar - welcome to the forum - i too have PCOS and never in my life since 13 have i had regular periods - but trust in clomid and it does work because on my first cycle i ovulated and had a period with no problemm, though it was 32 days.

I was always blowin up at small things like pots not bein washed. This has got to be the moststressful thing in the world. I upsets me mainly because having a baby is what us women are made to do... it seemed at first the most natural thing in the world and now im in limbo havin to take tablets to conceive. Hi ladies, yes im being seen by a fertility team. Ive had blood tests that were normal, a scan that showed cysts on both ovaries that wernt big enough to cause me damage but too small to remove, and then i had the dye through my tubes to check for blockages. I am a nurse an asked the gyne registar where i work if it was normal not to have bloods at 21 days..... he said yes as im havin ovarian tracking???????? Maybe il know more if i come on my period and have the scan.... they might tell me what to do next? Feeling slightly better. Have been havin like a shootin cramp when i walk at the front and i can feel my right ovary working over time. I cant help but feel like this isnt going to work first time round but hay ive had two years of dissapoointments so abit longer wont hurt! haha Hope evryone else is okay. Good luck to all xxxxxxxx

Hi wallacex,

No side effects yet but I don't know whether that's just because the dose is too low for me. I was told my progesterone level was 19 (don't know what scale that is) last month and that it has to be over 30 for you to ovulate. Have you been told anything like this?

haylz,

Hope the results are good! Did anything feel different this month? Any positive ovulation signs on the 100mg?

littlestar08,

Welcome, I think you may find that your cycle is pretty short and regular on Clomid. I was having 90 day cycles before I started and couldn't believe it when my first cycle was 30 days, even though I didn't ovulate! If I were you I'd take a test around day 28, good luck.

Many congratulations cheekymonkeywanted, I think it was all the 'baby dust' from the ladies! I have renewed hope today because of you.

I have just joined the discussion board today and seeing all the success stories is so comforting...well my story is as follows...

I started my periods REALLY late at 18 and only had a period roughly once a year if even that...I had been going to the hospital originally coz of lack of periods but then continued due to the infrequentness of them...after many blood tests which came back fine, and lots of different scans I was told i had MAYB had mild PCOS....but all results for scans were normal...anyhoo i took metformin which did not really do anything for me...

Now i am 25 years old and have been married for a year...i have been prescribed Clomid and am on my first cycle...I have had my 21 day blood test on monday now fingers and everything else is crossed that something happens...

I dont know whether anyone will have the answer to this but wen should i do a pregnancy test considerin i have no idea how long my cycly is coz i have never had consistent periods??

GOOD LUCK TO ALL....lots and lots of baby dust XxX

Hi Guys hope you are all well, unfortunately I only get the chance to get on my computer 2/3 times a week that is why Im not on every day. Im on day 15 of my cycle and also cant figure ovulation times, been looking out for changes in the body as told but nothing occuring going to keep trying until bloods next Tuesday 26th hoping to god have ovulated. DH and I have had a good chat as we dont want to put pressure on each other or it becomes to clinicial, then that is to much pressure. Have been getting dull pains just below belly button, but dont know if that is anything and got a rash come up on my chest, falling to bits. This is a really helpful site and some great caring girlies hear, big baby hugs Chelle

Hi Vikks

Welcome to the thread - yep i was on 100mg and i had no side effects, i was told to reduce my dose to 50mg as i had ovulated too much. Have you had any side effects from taking 50mg?

Angel - oh no!!! can you go today or is too late? This was my last month of going, so i won't be seen now until November for my review.
Hi All,
Another newbie here. I was just going a bit crazy there and I found this thread, Thank God! I feel instantly better, I AM NOT ALONE.
On second month of Clomid 50mg (day 14), saw the doc a week ago and was told I have to increase to 100mg as I'm still not ovulating. This was just after taking another round of 50mg so he says I'll not ovulate this month...... hence the craziness! I feel like I'm in limbo for another two weeks. Plus I'm a little worried about the effect of taking more drugs.
Anyone on 100mg and not experienced side effects? I'm scared I'll turn into an ogre and my husband won't want to come near me!

May the force be with us! x

Hiya wallcex,

s**t i forgot my bloods today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im so pissed off!!!!!!
Hi Wallacex,

Yes first round for me, finished my 5th day on friday just gone, I was kind of hoping the headaches and sicky feeling would go but they have persisted and have got worse but I can live with it if it means that I have a greater chance of getting pregnant.

I have come to the conclusion that nurses are butchers, the best person to take your blood is a phlebotonist as they have much more practise and it hurts much less. My veins seem to get stage fright when I go near needles.

Hi Giselle and Skates

Are you both on your first round of clomid? Last month i felt the same, i was so sure i was pregnant, i did three tests just in case each of the others was wrong - its not a nice feeling - but i think it gets better as i have had no sypmtoms this time round - went for my bloods today, think i must have seen a butcher of a nurse, because she popped my vain and now i have a bruise in the crease of my arm, it hurts so much i can't lift anything heavy up.

Pixistar - Angel is at the same stage as me she would have had her bloods done today and Sarah, well she is taking a break from clomid as she was unsuccessful with round 3.
Hi All,

Hope you had a nice weekend.

Mine was filled with feeling sick, constipated, abdominal pains, hot flushes and headaches! Also feel a bit angry and have been biting everyones head off.

Cheekymonkey any news?? have you tested again today?

Giselle my body is also making me feel pregnant, oh how I wish I was b ut like you said it is too soon.

Giselle,

Are you under a normal day 2 day GP or have you been refered to a fertility clinic? They SHOULD be monitoring you! Bloods should be taken on day 21 of your cycle. I know some people have regular scans to check up on things aswell. I've been put on clomid after numerous test's because they have found out that my progesterone level is very low. That was after being refered to a fertility specialist. Have you had any tests? Sorry if this comes across a bit negative. It just concerns me that you have been given medication, that they should be looking after you whilst taking it. I'm sorry to hear about the side effects that you have been having sad

Cheekymonkey: Any news???

Angel/Sarah: You have not posted for ages, how are things with you guy's?

Hi guys....on day 14 of first round of clomid and do not feel anything so far...i suppose its a good thing not really having side effects but it makes me feel like nothing is happening. I usually ovulate on day 17-20 and im kinda hoping for some pain to make it all feel real and like something is happening!!

Giselle- I was also given three months supply of clomid with no mention of bloods...only a scan when the three months are up...some doctors must take the relaxed approach!!??

Hi teenab, go on a site called fertility friend online, it will give you a calender that works out your ovulation days, also good as it keeps records of hospital app and whatever else you need to add, i use it and its been a big help .

Good Luck

Hi Peju,

I think that is terrible that you dont yet have a scan date. when you are trying for a baby I feel time is of the essence, waiting only prolongs the stress!

Hi all
Not been on for a while but been reading all the postings.
Im feeling really peeved today just chased my scan date (which ive got to have before they will give me the clomid) and the hospital have said they not received the referral - phoned docs n they say yes it gone off - been waiting 2 months for a date now so was a bit harsh with them - hoping it will get sorted soon as just wanna get started.
Keep having stupid hopes i may get pg in meantime even did a test yday as got the sore boobs and been getting cramps but it was neg so guess it just means im gonna come on lot earlier than norm.
I agree the line bout stopping trying then finding out you are must be utter rubbish cause lets face it if you wanna baby you aint gonna give up trying even if u say you will we would still all do the ov calculations secretly!!<
