DH got back from work and said he felt as though something was stuck to the back of his tongue but that he couldn't dislodge it/get it off.

Just got the torch out (as you do!) and had a look in his mouth and his uvula (that's the flappy bit between your tonsils - had to look it up, didn't know it was called that) has sort of stretched and is sitting on the back of his tongue! HOW weird is that?!!!

In any case, we're wondering whether that's what DD2 has which is why she's coughing over and over and over but it's really hard to see in her mouth because she always gets her tongue in the way and you can't see past it.

Do these things just return to normal or should I sent DH to the doctor (like he'd go ... ha!ha!ha!)?

Lots of people have long uvulas and never notice until they become inflammed (when they have a cold or laryngitis)- its a normal variant and nothing to be concerned about.

I must admit, I also read the title as vulva.....sorry!

Well now I know how to reel in the punters ... just put 'vuvla' in the title of the thread!

DH thinks that his uvula <tee hee ... god I'm so immature> only 'elongated' <more sniggering> today and I've never noticed it before (mind you, have to say I don't often have a torch pointing in his mouth ... or anywhere else on his anatomy actually) but it really is quite freakishly long looking.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
