Does anyone know of a sunscreen/cream which contains no parabens? I was checking out all the different brands for babies in Boots the other day, and not one was free of them. So does such a thing exist?
I like it - it's a bit thick to apply but seems to work well. I read somewhere that factor 15 is the maximum that you can have, after that you are just adding chemicals without increasing the efficiency. Don't know if that's true, but all the mineral sunscreens (this is zinc oxide) I've come across say factor 15.
liked look of green people one but, I thought lavender (and tea tree oil) should be avoided by boys due to it mimicing oestrogens? (admitedly in high concs)
Again green people one great - both dds have excema and they say it's 'lovely mummy' as it goes on (as opposed to screams of 'it hurts mummy' with normal ones)
They're in almost all toiletries, except those which are organic. Not sure what they do, but green or eco websites will tell you to avoid them - I believe they've been linked to cancer. As far as I remember, in a small scale study of breast cancer sufferers, parabens were present in the breast tissue of all the women. They have since been removed from deodorants, but as I say, you'll find them in many other toiletries (there are different types, all with long name, and -paraben as a suffix). I personally avoid them like the plague.
Just read the post about someones DD screaming when sunscreen is applied, my DD has been doing this, she's got bad excema or psoriasis(waiting to see dermatologist again on friday) so it is obviously stinging her poor thing. Can you buy this suncream in health shops does anyone know or do you have to order online?
