Hello Staryeyed! Sorry I'm here but only briefly. I'm still the same weight I'm afraid, 7 stone 7lbs. Off to eat another muffin covered in butter and marmite!
oooohhhh. I was wondering why the Great Summons. Good one staryeyed. haven't got weighed. for two weeks or more... <shuffles off to bathroom to dig out scales>
I am a great 8st 8lb wooooo hoooo. [ok, that's dressed]. We've had a weekend away, y'see. done huge cooked breakfast, afternoon tea, big dinner, the lot - five meals worth every day friday to sunday. Now all I have to do is keep it BTW I'm a bit over 5'7 if that counts for anything. <will be evicted from thread at this rate>
Welldone giglewitch you seem to be the winner of this weeks/fortnight weigh in (by default as there are only 3 of us who have added our weights). What was your original weight gigglewitch?
Ok
here are the rest of the results of the 1st weigh in:
Staryeyed 7st7 - 7st 7 (0llbs gain) Jajas- (7st 7 - 7st 7 (0lbs gain) St george results not in Lou33 results not in Moosma results not in
Just checking in to say I've found the thread but now I need to buy some scales. Got my life out of storage but some prat put the scales under everything else, so after weighing my possessions for the last 10 months they have given up the ghost!
Will try to get out and buy some new ones this weekend.
Meanwhile, I'm still scoffing 2 of my luxury yoghurts every day. They are so lush I don't really care if they are helping to add calories or not
go stalkerstaryeyed. original weight was 8st 5, last time i dared to look which was not in the last fortnight. or month actually. I really can recommend lazy weekends away with lots of nice nosh. pity we only get one a year <sigh> so actually this is a slightly fraudulent advantage, sorry ladies Thing is, how to keep it on...
BTW, there's a theme going on here about these scales - lost, ignored, neglected and in the case of StG, absolutely tortured Society for the Protection of Weights and Measures will be on to us in no time if they hear of this
Just getting over the most horrendous stomach bug, spent all of Wednesday night being sick every half hour, didn't eat anything yesterday or most of today. Weighed myself this morning and am 7 stone 13lb, so have lost 3 lbs
Feeling very weak and wobbly still so will be back for next weigh in in a while............
hi moosma - so that's one less person to stalk for staryeyed over there [she's the one in those awful sunglasses and the mac] sorry to hear you got that bug - a lot of it around at the mo. good luck with getting back onto the planet - and maybe avoid 'wobbling' over to the scales til you've had a few good dinners
Weighed myself using my mums scales (which I didn't know she had or I wouldn't have had to embarrass myself in the chemist standing on the damn scales which are in full view). Anyway I have added 0.5 lbs [pointlessly proud emoticon]
Im doing frequent snacking -making sure I can fit in as many cals as possible in a day. Im hoping to put on a bit in the next 4 weeks as we are off to turkey at the end of May and I wanna feel a bit more comfortable on the beach than i usually do.
Right, I want everyone's weight posted this weekend. All those who have not yet bought scales better get some [peers over glasses looking very serious and teacher like]. Your homework is to share your techniques(whether successful or not).
[Bossy hat off] Hopefully you have all have gained some this week. Good luck everyone .
i am struggling to eat anything right now because of a huge ulcer on the side of my tongue, permanently rubbing on my back tooth, which is doubly painful wehn i swallow or chew
i have bought some complan to see if i can drink that without too much pain
I'm here! I weighed myself this morning and I'm back up to 8 stone, I think most of that is just because I'm not dehydrated anymore after being ill. So I still have 2 more lbs to put on to get back to my pre-sickness weight, then I can start again
i weighed myself on my friend's scales on saturday when i popped round and i was 7 st 10, which is not good, but i havent been able to eat because of this huge mouth ulcer, which still hasnt gone btw
but i have managed to very slowly eat some poached eggs and toast this morning, and i have developed a way of swallowing without it hurting too much, so hopefully i can start eating again
it's been awful, yesterday was the first time i could eat something without being in agony, today is a tiny bit better as well, so i am hoping it is on hte mend now
Ive lost flippin 3/4 of a pound. No idea how- I ate well yesterday. Really annoyed because I thought I was heading towards my next target of 7st 11 and now Im back to 7st 8 and 3/4 (not even passed my first target of 7st 9. I must be losing weight in my sleep its madness.
I know I have lost that extra bit i put on, have been too hot to eat, and verrrrry busy. Had to get big belt out to hold ma jeans up today so am refusing to look the scales in the eye...
oh gigglewitch- I find it best to know and deal with it- it might not be as bad as you think. In was convinced I had lost weight the other day and I actually weighed more.
Does anyone know where I can bulk buy those build uo drink- ensure etc?
I get a boxful at a time on prescription, about thirty of them . As I [and obv most of you lot here] are officially underweight, GP can prescribe. Masses cheaper than paying for them per unit they are blardy disgusting though, aren't they? I keep them (not all, you understand) in the fridge, trying to con my tastebuds
I'm here, I'm here! So sorry! I had a bug in the middle of the week too and lost about 3lbs which made me miserable. Will just go and weigh myself and come right back again
I'm back to 7 1/2 stone so no gain on previous weight but put back on what I've lost over the last week. My skin looks dreadful at the moment too so drinking hot water and lemon at the moment which isn't exactly packed with calories is it!
Sorry Staryeyed, I don't get on here very much I'm afraid.
I hate the fact that I'm just under the BMI 'norm' I was really hoping that my extra couple of lbs would have put me into the ideal bracket but no chance. I've just eaten a great big plate of bolognaise with macaroni, preceded two hours ago by boiled egg with toast soldiers. Hoping to make fish pie later with oodles of butter but I bet none of it makes a difference, what are we like!
Off for some tea and toast and a handful of Minstrels now.
Now Ive got you all on my thread I will never let you go mwahh ha ha ha.
I eat nutty cereal for breakfast. peanut butter on toast for 11ses pasta and cheese/chicken sandwich/jacket potato for lunch. toast/ cereal bar snack. Dinner:varies but try to eat a lot of carbs sometimes snack and drink of milk until I can hold of ensure.
Had a blip, thread here, but things are better. I need to get some help with my hormones, they are causing major problems.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I still haven't got any scales. Thought Asda or Tesco might have some, will have to try to get to Argos sometime this week.
hello everyone.....i was directed to this thread so i've come over to join.
i've been weighed by the practice nurse today and am a shocking 6 and a half stone! i'm only 5ft 2 so i don't look really skinny but i'd like to put a little bit of weight back on.
Thankyou SaintGeorge for giving me the link to this thread!
Im sorry everyone I have been away (on holiday) and not maintaining this thread. Now to get us back on track can everyone weigh in for this weekend.
I have put on weight this week (yey) I now weight 7st 11 1/4 (weighed before breakfast). I am really hoping I can keep it on at home. I have stocked up on ensure to help me on my way.
Hello Queenrollo welcome to the weight gain thread. How much weight would you like to put on?
Ah good to see this thread, I did wonder how I would ever find it again! Hello queenrollo and welcome to our rather peculiar thread!
Well I think I must have lost some weight which is rather depressing, have a lot of rubbish going on money wise and when I worry the weight just disappears.
I seriously don't understand this. I finally got around to buying the scales 2 weeks ago and I was 6st 10lb. I suspected I might have lost a little because of a tummy bug this week.
Are you sure your scales are accurate? that does sound like rather a lot St G- has anything happened to make you lose weight?
Jajas how much have you lost? Im the same -whenever I have a lot to do /or something to worry about I lose weight. In fact my average weight 4 years ago was about 8st and apart fom when I was pregnant with Ds I have never weighed anything near that since.
Difficult to say how accurate without going elsewhere to get weighed.
They are brand new and we checked them as per the instructions when we got them. I calibrated them again before I used them today.
If I had got weighed last year and then today, I would have expected a big drop because the last year has been hellish. But in the last fortnight? No way, I have been stuffing my face, should be piling the ounces pounds on.
Rang DH in shock to tell him. He will get weighed tonight. If he has dropped dramatically as well then at least we will know it is the scales.
<<crosses fingers and anything else flexible enough to cross>>
I weigh 7st 12- that's a gain of 5 pounds!! I have been so busy that I have not had time to do my frequent snacking so now I'm eating 3 normal meals and drinking 3 ensure shakes just after. I have to get some more though I am just about to run out. I got my last lot from ebay I cant seem to find them anywhere else. The chocolate ones are really quite ok but I dont know what the other flavours taste like. Im off to ebay to see if I can find myself some more....
BTW I want everyone's weight up this weekend no excuses. Come on ladies.
Because we are all unhappy with being skinny/underweight and I myself would like to be able to wear clothes that aren't just to hide myself iyswim unfortunately I am naturally skinny (genes, fast metabolism etc) and have to work really hard to gain weight and wanted to get/give support to/from others like me hence the thread (although lou33 started it really)
Both my brothers struggled to put weight on when they were younger (think same applies now). When they were still at home (early 20s) my mother would make delicious banana milkshakes, with ice cream and honey and egg, which seemed to help. Also, they used to have ones of those power shake things with a meal.
i havent had a chance to weigh myself recently , but i know i have lost weight just by looking at myself, due to that sodding mouth ulcer, which has refused to go
however i went to the gp on tuesday afternoon because of it, and got a course of anti biotics, and my mouth seems pretty much pain free now, so i have been stuffing my face
i think it is working, and i can see a slight change
i do hope so, because on tuesday when getting changed i burst into tears at how thin i looked
oh lou that's a long mouth ulcer. If you can, I really recommend ensure they are really working for me and so convenient (sounding like an advert). Its really helped me gain these extra pounds.
<<pokes head round door>> hi sorrrrrryyyyyy am still here occasionally
am not getting any heavier [though hopefully not losing any either atm] and am verging on miserable over it as mum and work colleagues seem to keep saying my face is "looking thin" sodit sodit sodit <will come back in better mood another day. sorry all>
not good, lou. don't let it bug me often but seem to have had a lot of negative comment recently when i thought i was doing ok. Just pssdsd off atm, sorry
I don't have any trouble eating, it just doesn't make any difference to my weight! Friends watch me in amazement and can't believe the sorts of things I can put away and yet stubbornly remain a waif of a thing.
Sorry Staryeyed, I keep forgetting to look in .
I hate it when people ask me if I have lost weight, absolutely hate it with a passion .
Yes we are all trying to put weight on because we don't like looking so skinny. I speak for myself here but I think the others are the same, we don't have any isshooos with food just seem to have strange metabolisms that don't work like other peoples!
tis only breakfast i struggle with, i eat all other meals, and several in between people are always shocked by how much i eat too. i hate it when people say you do eat dont you? and call me a skinny cow etc etc. if i called someone a fat bint i'd get a punch so why can they do it to me grrr.
i am making more of an effort with breakfast generally eatign about 9.30, cant face it sooner. i'm gonna have to work on tht over the summer as when i go back to uni in spet lectures start at 9 so have to leave home by 8- need to eat before i leave
