I am a great 8st 8lb wooooo hoooo. [ok, that's dressed]. We've had a weekend away, y'see. done huge cooked breakfast, afternoon tea, big dinner, the lot - five meals worth every day friday to sunday. Now all I have to do is keep it wink
BTW I'm a bit over 5'7 if that counts for anything.

Welldone giglewitch you seem to be the winner of this weeks/fortnight weigh in (by default as there are only 3 of us who have added our weights). What was your original weight gigglewitch?

Ok

here are the rest of the results of the 1st weigh in:

Staryeyed 7st7 - 7st 7 (0llbs gain)
Jajas- (7st 7 - 7st 7 (0lbs gain)
St george results not in
Lou33 results not in
Moosma results not in

Still time to add more....

Just checking in to say I've found the thread smile but now I need to buy some scales. Got my life out of storage but some prat put the scales under everything else, so after weighing my possessions for the last 10 months they have given up the ghost!

Will try to get out and buy some new ones this weekend.

Meanwhile, I'm still scoffing 2 of my luxury yoghurts every day. They are so lush I don't really care if they are helping to add calories or not grin

So we are just missing Lou33 and Moosma. I will find them [stalkerish look].

I really can recommend lazy weekends away with lots of nice nosh. pity we only get one a year <sigh> so actually this is a slightly fraudulent advantage, sorry ladies blush
Thing is, how to keep it on...

BTW, there's a theme going on here about these scales - lost, ignored, neglected and in the case of StG, absolutely tortured grin

Sorry Staryeyed, I don't get on here very much I'm afraid.

I hate the fact that I'm just under the BMI 'norm' I was really hoping that my extra couple of lbs would have put me into the ideal bracket but no chance. I've just eaten a great big plate of bolognaise with macaroni, preceded two hours ago by boiled egg with toast soldiers. Hoping to make fish pie later with oodles of butter but I bet none of it makes a difference, what are we like!

Off for some tea and toast and a handful of Minstrels now.

What does everyone else eat in an average day?

O.M.G.

sad

I demand a recount.

6, read it, 6 stones shock

I seriously don't understand this. I finally got around to buying the scales 2 weeks ago and I was 6st 10lb. I suspected I might have lost a little because of a tummy bug this week.

But 10lbs in a fortnight!

It will take me years to put that back on. sad

Are you sure your scales are accurate? that does sound like rather a lot St G- has anything happened to make you lose weight?

Jajas how much have you lost? Im the same -whenever I have a lot to do /or something to worry about I lose weight. In fact my average weight 4 years ago was about 8st and apart fom when I was pregnant with Ds I have never weighed anything near that since.
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By SaintGeorge on Fri 06-Jun-08 10:50:52
Difficult to say how accurate without going elsewhere to get weighed.

They are brand new and we checked them as per the instructions when we got them. I calibrated them again before I used them today.

If I had got weighed last year and then today, I would have expected a big drop because the last year has been hellish. But in the last fortnight? No way, I have been stuffing my face, should be piling the ounces pounds on.

Rang DH in shock to tell him. He will get weighed tonight. If he has dropped dramatically as well then at least we will know it is the scales.

<<crosses fingers and anything else flexible enough to cross>>
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By SaintGeorge on Fri 06-Jun-08 14:24:55
THANK F*%^ FOR THAT!

DH just got weighed on them and he has, apparently, lost exactly 1 stone.

His weight seems to be incredibly stable so I am working on the theory that the scales are, for some mysterious reason, 1 stone out.

So working on that theory I weigh 7stone today so actually a gain of 4lb rather than a loss.

Confused, but very relieved.

Because we are all unhappy with being skinny/underweight and I myself would like to be able to wear clothes that aren't just to hide myself iyswim unfortunately I am naturally skinny (genes, fast metabolism etc) and have to work really hard to gain weight and wanted to get/give support to/from others like me hence the thread (although lou33 started it really)

Both my brothers struggled to put weight on when they were younger (think same applies now). When they were still at home (early 20s) my mother would make delicious banana milkshakes, with ice cream and honey and egg, which seemed to help. Also, they used to have ones of those power shake things with a meal.

I, on the other hand, had no trouble. hmm

i havent had a chance to weigh myself recently , but i know i have lost weight just by looking at myself, due to that sodding mouth ulcer, which has refused to go

however i went to the gp on tuesday afternoon because of it, and got a course of anti biotics, and my mouth seems pretty much pain free now, so i have been stuffing my face

i think it is working, and i can see a slight change

i do hope so, because on tuesday when getting changed i burst into tears at how thin i looked

oh lou sad that's a long mouth ulcer. If you can, I really recommend ensure they are really working for me and so convenient (sounding like an advert). Its really helped me gain these extra pounds.

Not too much thankfully.

An upset tummy can see me lose 2-4lb practically overnight though, and then take months to put back on.

We have had such a junk food diet this last year I really thought I would have gained something.

It would be really nice just to put on maybe half a stone so I can wear a bikini on the beach and not obsess about my hip bones jutting out.

ikwym, thats what had me burst into tears last week

i still need another half stone on to look ok i reckon, but i can see smalls signs of weight gain on me now, which is good news

though i am quite stressed atm, and it does tend to fall off me when i am, so it's going to be a bit of a slog to keep it going on

Last year in Spain I bought my first ever bikini, braved a couple of hours under a parasol.

This year I think I will be taking a sarong.

Lou, you do look slimmer in the face (going by recent fringe pics) but you still look bloody fantastic envy

thanks stg, but i was noticeably thinner all over

that said i have now put on 3 lbs since my lowest point, and my hip bones are not quite so pointy, and size 8's are starting to fit me better again

hopefully i will stay on the up

i am going out for dinner tonight so will be stuffing my face with luck

Hello dylsmun, eat your breakfast right now!

I don't have any trouble eating, it just doesn't make any difference to my weight! Friends watch me in amazement and can't believe the sorts of things I can put away and yet stubbornly remain a waif of a thing.

Sorry Staryeyed, I keep forgetting to look in blush.

I hate it when people ask me if I have lost weight, absolutely hate it with a passion angry.

Yes we are all trying to put weight on because we don't like looking so skinny. I speak for myself here but I think the others are the same, we don't have any isshooos with food just seem to have strange metabolisms that don't work like other peoples!

tis only breakfast i struggle with, i eat all other meals, and several in between grin people are always shocked by how much i eat too. i hate it when people say you do eat dont you? and call me a skinny cow etc etc. if i called someone a fat bint i'd get a punch so why can they do it to me grrr.

i am making more of an effort with breakfast generally eatign about 9.30, cant face it sooner. i'm gonna have to work on tht over the summer as when i go back to uni in spet lectures start at 9 so have to leave home by 8- need to eat before i leave
